On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

The dodges the 29s were making were quite epic. Lucked out those other 2 migs didn't want to scramble since there was only 1 aim-120 between you.
As Usual in DCS American missiles can't hit a barn
Theres a report that Pakistani or Indian fighters did the same w 6 AMRAAM launches a few years ago
Maybe its just me, and years of video gaming jade, but those dodges seemed alil suspect. Almost like they could see the missiles coming at them, as if the missiles had markers on them. Again, maybe just me and my jaded history.

@@jorgecgonzalez9976 Not just American missiles. The opposing MiG-29s had 24 Russian missiles between them all, fired most of them, and hit nothing. DCS missiles are not terribly hard to dodge if you know they are coming and defend appropriately. The two MiG-29s shot down were baited into overextending and fired on at closer ranges where missiles have more energy and become much harder to dodge.
This is my new absolute favorite milsim video ever. Positively epic production values, particularly the audio - I was seriously getting sweaty palms.
Dcs just added these radio effects as default options in the engine, so you should be hearing a lot more of them!

Tbh, this shit is so tense, when you only have hard to understand coms, an at least somewhat competitive jet against you in greater numbers plus air defenses and most of your missiles go nowhere.
Also, insane flying by the opponents, some of these missile evades looked totally bonkers.

I think a small name indicator for the new VOIP would be nice. Wasn't easily discernible who said what outside of maneuvers and missile launches. Loved the realism with the new VOIP, though.
Agreed, both of their voices sounded really similar with the radio effect. It was a neat effect, but did make the video a bit harder to follow.
Check the SA screen, you can see 01 or 02 in blue as a contact from the AWACS datalink. If you see 01, then we're in the cockpit of 02. If you see 02, then we're in the cockpit of 01. You can also see, in yellow, if 01 or 02 is locked on a bandit (bandit will go from a red contact to yellow with the designation of whoever is locking it). Comms effect is pretty cool though, but yeah it was hard to tell who was who lol... I thought we had new guys or something! :D
If only those Migs knew you were both out of missiles.

Hey GS love your videos, I've been watching every one uploaded for years. Have you considered bringing on fans to do BVR / BFM stuff? I think having fans take you on in 1v1 dogfights would be a cool video series idea.

Well that’s what I do lol many of these videos made over the years are people from my community. But eventually I made a little recording team because most people are just casual users of DCS and don’t have the skills to be “competitive” at a higher level. (Not claiming to be amazing myself, just saying there is a bar for content creation and most people are not there) there are many challenges with bringing on random people all the time but everyone you see in these videos is in fact part of the community that’s how I found them in the first place.

Fox 3 missile guidance has been broken ever since the 2.9 update came out. They don't lead as much as they should at closer ranges. They end up turning at the last second and bleed all their energy. Terminal guidance seems to be improved though.

The new radio effects are pretty nice! However, why was the in cockpit sounds, like the RWR, also 'radio-ized'? Was that open mics picking up the other pilot's cockpit sounds, or is that like the 'hear in helmet' setting? Anyway, very good video, always a good time seeing F-16s and MiG--29s fighting!
It all has to pipe through the pilots headset. Though I would assume the 'local' sounds would not have radio noise, idk because the avionics and systems kinda date back a long way
