soushi kinda sounds like izuku :,) also fun fact: although this song fits hawks’ backstory, this song was actually written about izuku and shigaraki’s relationship. the part where the song says “i can save you too” hits me really hard. at first when i listened to this song thinking about hawks, it was still sad, but it didn’t hit me until i had found out about this being izuku and shigaraki’s song

Yup. At first the song didn't click for me as Hawks' backstory. But then I learnt it was about Izuku and Tomura and then everything fell into place. U will notice that all the openings and endings are in first person, and again from Izuku's pov- much like the main storyline. The songs reveal more about the future anime arcs and Izuku's feelings than Izuku himself does. Especially the season 1 ending 1.
IMHO, i personally think this ending is very suitable for both Hawks and Izuku's feelings. Because there are some lyrics and ending scenes that refer to Hawks past and Endeavor.
Putting that aside, this ending is really touching.
