This video is wonderful. I am 66 and my sons are 37 and 32. We had weekends like the one on this video a looong time ago, and we still talk about them. Now I have a 7 year old granddaughter, and we are carrying on the tradition. Wish I had a video of the boys when they were boys. I do have one with my granddaughter. Mark. Annapolis.
+Mark Kiefaber Thanks Mark! Great to hear that you've been able to do those outings through the years. I love making these memories and preserving them to watch years from now.
What a great video. You'll look back on this in 20 years and be so thankful you had these moments. Everyone should do this with your kids or loved ones and record it....boat, canoe , cottage, camping, road trip , even just a bbq - cherish the moments!
You sir, brought a tear to my eye, you are such a great dad. I use to do the same with my son on my boat. When we docked, back home, after an overnight or a few days, I use to ask him, did you have fun? He would respond with, can we go camping now, would make me laugh until my sides split. Of course we went camping, all the time. Such memories, cherish them while they last, then they are off to college and then become independent. I feel your son, at that age was like mine, wanted to learn everything. There needs to be more dads like you. Be well.
John Quibbler Wow, thank you! And I feel the full impact of the realization that this time is fleeting. When I think of this overnight, it seems like yesterday, but he’s grown and changed so much since. I can extrapolate that forward and (as much as I try to deny it) see that in a few more years he’ll be a teen, then out of the house. I’m sure every stage has its own cherished moments, but there are a lot of times I want time to stop. Thanks very much for your touching words!
This brought back so many memories! I’m 18 now and my Dad was a private yacht captain and I remember he would always take me on little overnight trips on our boat. You are an awesome father and your son will never forget the experiences you have together!
32 years old here. I still hit the town on the weekends, I have no kids. I play up the whole 'partyboy' persona; going out on the town like I did through my late teens and into my 20s, and I'm still doing it. But I'm tired of it. This is what I really want
Polpiv4tifish, Hang in there buddy. I was considered a player and, well you know, until I met the love of my life, in college. You never know when it's going to happen. I met her when I was 21 and she was 20. I am not saying it was easy, we had our ups and downs, broke-up ect., didn't see her for 3years after college. Got back together and now we have been happily married, with awesome twins for 24 years. It can and will happen to you. The best advise I can give you, take it or not, that's up to you. If you do meet someone special, do not always think that there is somebody better looking (even tough my wife, around 50 is still hot to me), or there is somebody better. Give that one person a chance and love what she brings to you. I did (finally), been happy ever since.
God I wish I had the money to live like that. I love boats and I have the most beautiful perfect son. I was closed-adopted at birth so my son is the only living blood relative I have even known so yes, we are very close. I love every boat I’ve ever seen big, small, old, new, rusty or shiny. I don’t think God has ever allowed an ugly boat to exist. I’m not a poor man but I wouldn’t even know where to start, to live like this.

God bless, Mr. Mark ❤
I want to be this kind of dad someday... a dad with a yacht
You can be the greatest dad just by spending time with them, on a yacht or on a sofa.

Man ole man....... the memories made in trips like this. They stick in our children’s memories long after we’re gone.

Great video. A far cry from my dad and I going out on his Sea Snark for an afternoon sail back in the early 70s.
What a dad.
Great dad, the way to raise a child. Excellent example.
Great video. Don't blink, he'll be asking you for the boat keys. Nice boat.
I totally had that lego set when I was little

This looks so fun. It’s really cool that your son does this stuff with you and not stay inside and play video games
