Time for another DIY cosmetic restoration of an old boat! This is a 14-15 foot Stejcraft Hull from 1980, and has a 2003 Yamaha 2 stroke outboard on the back! in this video, we go through the full cosmetic restoration process! Enjoy! - Розваги
If you keep editing like you have a million subs you WILL have a million subs before you know it.
Super nice comment! Thank you!

Lol
Matt he means get rid of the girly music no affence .bro I love ur vids
I have intentions on doing this kind of resto but I still end up watching this atleast once a year. Great video
That grey on the non slip surface looked excellent mate nice
wow I just LOVE this type of boat they are so beautiful! Thank you for sharing this experience.
You should be proud of your work. This boat came out really nice and not only did you save tens of thousands over buying a new boat but you had the satisfaction of knowing it was you who did this. Like you said you know what’s under the carpet and you can be confident knowing it’s clean and functional. I think it looks great and I was really Surprised in the paint. I’ve never been a fan of rolling or brushing on paint I always spray when I have the option however this technique you used looks great. Thank you for sharing your project it makes me want to pick up an old boat and get to work.
On of my favorite projects. Nice job !
I loved your video. Your lack of tools (averaged homeowner) was entertaining and was fun to see the solutions you devised.
Found one similar sitting in a field, think I might go make a low ball offer on it. You encourage me to also refurbish a small cuddy! Looks awesome!
Did you buy that project boat and refurbish it?
I love these red to videos. I'm in Melbourne and while I'm doing an alloy boat, I will also be stripping it back and re-fitting new carpet etc. The satisfaction of doing it yourself is satisfying.
That's a darling little boat! I love the tinted glass. Great job on the restoration!
You guys did a phenomenal job with that project. Beautiful little fishing boat. Thanks for the good content. Cheers from Virginia!
WoW I didn't realize how small that boat is but it looks awesome must be a one man boat though!!
2 maximum ;)
Mine is only a 12 foot and it can handle 4 persons in most conditions I take it out in, but takes forever to get on a plane and with a foot of "chop" everyone gets wet haha. Might as well have a wetsuit on and mess around on jet skis lol. ;)

That is one of the best fiberglass boat restorations. It has really helped be with ideas for our boat. Thank you and it was just what everyone was looking for!!! Great Job!!
Thanks so much for the super nice comment!!!
Such a good looking little boat. I love it!
I'm starting a project just like this, this weekend, you've given me a really good idea of what to expect! Cheers
Very cool project! I really enjoyed this! Thanks for taking us along for the project!
Love it!!!!! I have done similar in the past, here is an idea, cut the roof off leaving a small ledge then move the steering station 500mm forward add a windscreen on top and a bimini and you would have an even better boat. Shade shelter and even more fishing room. I worked here in NZ for a company building similar boats back in the late 80's that company's moulds are still being used the hulls have barely changed (apart from getting bigger) its only the topside design that's been modernised. Another modification you can do is add an outboard pod thus removing the outboard well and giving more fishing room.
Awesome work. I had the same boat but hated the cabin part, it was good for storage and keepingstuff dry but was a real hassle with getting the anchor in and out. Started to strip mine down for a bit of work and found most the timber was rotting so it was off the the tip with it (I didn't spend too much money buying it and I got my monies worth with fun and experience).
My mans so u underrated I clicked on this and after watching I thought this was a huge UA-camr and see he’s only got 5k subs. This man need way more subs because the quality of the vid is higher than some of the biggest UA-camrs 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Dude! Right! I found him this morning and have been watching all I can find. I probably wouldn't have found him if I weren't helping rebuild a boat, either.
Great work.
I remember going to the reefs off "Palm Island" and the waves were about 3 to 4 metres and we were in my fathers 22' Haines hunter we passed two old guys in a 14' tinny heading out to the same reef as well. Not something I would have tried.
Good to see another QLDer in the mix.
Sweet little boat. Nice for day running. Great job.
Cheers! I'm really enjoying it!
I'd love to restore one of these! Very cool video
Awesome job!! You took something that was worth nothing and made it look like a million dollars worth. Thumbs up!!!
That's very kind of you Paul - Thanks!
Aw man it's so cute!!! Hahahaha I love smaller boats. Way more fun to operate than bigger ones. But wish you added some gauges for the engine.
Awesome video! Lovely boat too. I bought something similar a few years back a 5.1m Seafarer that I am doing up this summer. Pretty much the same condition as this one, it was just much much filthier. Gotta get a motor, steering cables and few other bits and pieces but am super excited to get it in the water this summer. Video has inspired me to get it out of the shed!
Great Job!
I love this boat! This is exactly what I would buy if they had it in the US. If you drive it over, I will take it off your hands! Great job on the restoration. I would change it to a 4 stroke Honda and squeeze a 100 gallon fuel tank on it and head to Canada and maybe even the great loop!
Once again, you did a beautiful job!
Boat looks awesome! Well done
Great Job 👍
Super clean!
As you we're building it it looked like a huge boat it wasn't until I saw you driving it that I realized it wasn't that big. Still a great boat for fishing on a calm day!! Great restoration :)
Yeah, anything bigger and I might have quit half way ;)
A really good budget reno mate. It looks sharp and neat.
Awesome job
Great job. I think it's funny how little that boat is. I thought it was a lot bigger, until I saw you in it. You did a wonderful job with the restoration. Looks brand new!!!
amazing project! keep up the good work and post new videos!
looks like your having fun with it.
I really enjoyed your video. It makes me want to take on a project like this. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bob! Very kind of you!

Very cool you guys did a great job love the video catch them up
look good cruising Raby bay. well done. Go Queensland.
Nice little day runner.
Agreed David!
Outstanding effort in such a short time!!!!
You might surprise yourself at how simple removal of the motor and steering is and I'm sure with your approach you'll be able to handle it.....
Also spray painting is quite simple you might even want to try that too.
Top effort. Cheers Greg
Cheers Greg!
Awesome job 👏 that boat has really good lines, could be an modern boat.
If you think that’s nice lines i dont know what you’re on. But the job was superb in all ways

Tim Burruano i
How cool,I found your bigger boat project....Well done Video Congrats
Haha, when I saw your last comment, I was hoping you'd stumble across this video!
Really nice boat!! Great work
Thank you!
Sweet little boat. Nice restoration!
Thanks mate!
It is a nice little scooter of a boat. You could make the sanding a bit quicker and easier if you invest in a media blaster. The initial outlay for the parts would be a bit costly, but if you are doing multiple hulls, it will be more cost effective in the long run. Filtering the material you blow off of the hulls, you can often reuse the media for a few hulls you blast. You did a great job, my friend.
Lovely wee boat nice job man!
Thanks Ryan. This was a great project!
Awesome job dude! Love the boat!
Thanks so much!
You did a great job the boat looks so small but it’s cool
Make the cabin a lay-down space for the baby and put a new engine on it ,you'll not be expecting the difference in perfomance
Thanos Rou thanks for the comment! I'm sure that's true, but for this particular boat, I'll probably leave it as it is, and upgrade to a bigger/better project in the coming months.
I didn't expect you to reply as this is an old video anyways you should make the next boat an RIB their performance is excellent despite the size .I own a ribco 860 which is marvellous in rough conditions .
That would be very interesting! Unfortunately it's quite hard to find RIBs locally, and when they are available, they're pretty expensive! I'll keep an eye out for them though!
Ok , nice chatting with you if you need any help with an RIB look for my comment
boat super cool...so old school james bondish... i want one
Hahaha, I've never thought of it like that, I guess it is! Thanks for the comment Bryan!
don't know how i landed on this video but i don't regret it, great video, quite detailed, gonna have a peak at the other videos! cheers
Super nice of you! Thanks so much!
Awesome job man
Cheers Mitch! Legend.
Inspired to do this myself 😉
Sweet boat
Cheers Shaun!
Your side windows should have the join in the rubber at the top to avoid water entry, something I picked up as a motor body builder. The theory being that the water runs down the glass into the join and then into the inside.
John Lawton where do I get rubber window edging like that?
Nice resto, and cant go wrong with the Yamma!
Too right. Have just had it surfaced and tuned, I recon she'll go forever now! Haha
nice! maybe some day i do like this
Anytime you see Ryobi, you know their professionals. Looked great though!
👍🏻
As much as ryobi gets a bad rap i work in a paint and panel shop stripping cranes trucks and industrial equipment and to be honest i use ryobi there more than anything they can take a beating and your not so stressed when the get covered in thinners 2 pak paint and grease. Brushed drill 2 years old got the wobbels pretty bad and 1/2"impact gets replaced around every 6 months but for the price and what it goes threw im happy with that every other 18v range ryobi tool we use regularly havent had an issue in almost 5 years. I brought what i thought was trash knowing the environment but it has certainly surprised me. Just my 2cents as a contractor using the tools dw i was as shocked as you
Nice job!
If you wanted to remove the engine without a lift, I mounted a $25 cable puller to my garage ceiling and lift my old straight 6cyl 90hp Merc on and off with that. Works great.
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing!
Good video, I lift my 60hp on and off my boat by hand it's not easy but it can be done for sure.
I’ve brushed a number of boats. Thinned right it can come out great. Never fully rolled-and-tipped as it seemed to collect more artifacts....
I sprayed a boat the first time several years back. HVLP. I suppose I may brush small things now and again but considering time, quality of finish, and effort (did I mention quality of finish?!) - after that I decided I’ll spray everything I can.
I sprayed my 19’ several coats in about half a day including cleanups. Fantastic finish. To do that by brush or roll-and-brush would have required waiting a few days for cure between coats so I could wet sand, and while I brush very well, I know from the many, many gallons of paint I’ve used over the years there is no way I could achieve that level of finish which the spraying gave with so little effort.
Just a thought I’d share for consideration.
I got a 19 foot 1987 gurdian hull very similar, based of ur colour on skid mine are just plan white ,im going to use kiwi grip grey, looks great.
Looks amazing mate I want to do that with the one im getting exactly like yours
Love the video's Matt keep it up mate I've got a 15ft Savage Avalon (nothing wrong with it) but it needs a little TLC and I've been using some of your tips to help me figure out what i want/need for my boat. Love all the video's fishing or restorations keep it up looking forward to your next project! :)
Thanks so much! I actually looked at a Savage before buying this one! They've got really nice lines, and I hear they ride well!
No Worries :) yeah they are a really nice boat its only got a 1996 yamaha 25hp on it but it gets on the plane really nice and handles like a dream I personally haven't seen a motor this "old" that is in such good condition!
nice ride!
Good job.
Awesome boat awesome video bro 😎
Beautiful, I would have gone with more comfy seats. But amazing work.
Love it so awesome!
Thanks Kdawg!
Fan-dang-tastic!
Great work, Thanks for sharing and subbed.
Thanks so much!
That was fun to watch, I really enjoyed it. Make sure you film and post the video when you build and install the fly bridge.
Cheers! I appreciate that.
that came up so clean mate!!! great to see a youtube video come up at random from the same boat ramp i use.
you've given me motivation to do up my Qtr cabin 16 footer.
Justin White oh nice! That's sick Justin. Appreciate the kind words!
is the mate that looked the boat over for you Timmy Peterson by any chance?
Timmy didn't look over it before I bought it (although I kind of wish I did get him for that), but he did all the work on the engine rebuild! Such a legend.
ficou lindo esta novo boas pescas ..........
One thing, please put some plugs/grommets to fill in the holes around the cables ! Those open holes are an invite for water to join you inside the boat when you back off the throttle and come off the plane, or when reversing. Those old design engine wells need the cable holes high up on the sides of the engine well, and if not, the holes need to be well sealed. Another mod is to raise the inside well wall to the full height of the transom to help from being flooded over the stern.
Another mod worth doing I to fit two 4" inspection covers to the floor in a low traffic area. Open them up when storing the boat to let the bilge really dry out and the under floor stringers/boards have a very chance of staying rot free.
There is a video of a 16ft boat sinking from a 4" hole, with two bilge pumps running, and more than one boat has foundered from being swamped from water coming the engine well.
Nice work in all respects, no over investing, it is a tidy boat now.
Great video! I would love to see more restauration Projects rather then fishing videos. Nice jobb!
i rally love the grey on it to add abit of tone to be honest, great work im brisbane also mate with the exact same boat lol
Awesome Dan! Glad you like it. All the best with your boat.
