    My main trainer for the last few months. I’m on my second pair. I love them.

    The Max Road 5 is the BOMB. Love Hyperburst, love Skechers, own many models of their shoes. They are not always number 1, but they are always a solid choice. I did have a problem with the Max Road 4 (without the plus) because the upper was not very breathable at all!! Agreed, this is not a squishy bouncy shoe like my beloved ASICS Novoblast 2 shoe. I would say the Max Road 5 is a "Jack of all trades, but a master of none." It is a solid all around top notch daily trainer, no more, no less in my opinion.

    Skechers Max Road 5 is now my go to daily trainer. Edges out the Asics Novablast 2. Tho I do prefer the Asics for recovery day after a speed workout or after a long run

    I have been loving the Maxroad 4 as they are often on sale for 70-80$. I think the Maxroad series make a great uptempo long run shoe or even a cheaper marathon shoe for others.

      That’s a great price and do think it would work well for those uses, even if it wouldn’t be my personal pick

    Interesting take. I'm really curious about this shoe. Cannot find it anywhere though. It does sound like more of a highly cushioned daily trainer than an easy day shoe though. Thanks for the insight.

      It’s an interesting shoe! I wouldn’t want this much cush on a daily trainer myself but can see why it’s popular.

      @@TheRunTesters its a lot firmer than a hoka cliften but certainly feels lighter and faster..I still love the Clifton!!

    I have to second your thoughts on the Razor Excess. First shoe this year that has got my turn over so quickly and was just giggling with enjoyment with it. With the max road - I agree, it hasn’t clicked with me, I’m sure it’s a high stack tempo shoe maybe 🤷‍♂️. These infused EVAs seem to be very pneumatic it me, need abit of umph to get the most out of it. It’s more like how the Zoom Fly used to be maybe , a training marathon shoe, where it may have not intended it be. It isn’t great at a slow plod.

      Yeah I think I needed to reframe what I thought of it as. It still wouldn’t be my fave tempo option, but does seem to work ok for that!

    Great review. Those shoes are just not comfortable because of they are not soft when landing despite their cushion. The New Balance Fresh Foam More v3 is the best in terms of confort.

    On the off chance you see this comment, any chance you're going to be able to review the Maxroad 6? Ive heard a lot of decent things but I trust you guys

    The Invincilble killed my ankles... not for me. I'll give a try for the Maxroad 5 as my easy run shoe. Let's see... The Razor Excess is my all around daily trainer, specialy in the faster runs (interval and tempo).

    I run at a pace of 5.40- 7.40 min/km..pls assist me which is the best? Go run ride 9 or max road 5? My priority will be comfort up to marathon distance and also stable/ steady ride .Also, able to pick up the pace

    How does this shoe compare to the Hoka Rincon 3?

  • @bigbang4425

    Best max cushioned (in Skechers line-up) , to be more accurate.

    It is not a shoe for a heel striker especially for slow runners and runs. You crash land every step. If you go fast and don't heel strike then it will work for you.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  2 роки тому

      Could be, but I’ve seen plenty of positive reviews from heel strikers too! I wouldn’t class myself as a slow runner tho :)

      @@TheRunTesters exactly.. You did not like it when you were running slowly. I had the same feeling with the Skechers_GOrun_Ride_9 and a friend (heel striker) with this shoe. The heel bevel (missing heel bevel) is very steep.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  2 роки тому

      I do heel strike at all paces though, more so at faster paces I think, when i liked the shoe more. I def considered my gait in this, but normally a steep bevel works fine for me
