    New performance cars come with tubular manifolds aka "shorty" headers. These cars have cast logs. Headers definitely benefit these cars, just keep your expectations realistic because you're only looking at maybe 20-25hp out of 600-800 dollar headers. The driving experience however, is priceless.

    Thank you for this video, I’m saving or selling my x pipe now...I live in Los Angeles where about 700,000 people live in a 2 mile radius and the full exhaust setup (headers, x pipe, cat back) I bought would definitely upset people...I just want a better noise than stock with better hp/torque numbers if possible...seriously thank you for this...im just going to run headers with a cat back or stock

      They are a real pain but they do sound amazing so it’s hard to get rid of them. If you’re pulling your motor often it’s probably worth it to go with shorty headers. Hopefully you don’t have exhaust leak issues.

Profesional air brushed flames down the doors and over the hood and hoodscoop.I have an slp 1 on it right now with x pipe. Kooks wants $1628 for header only and $1200 for x pipe.Are t kooks worth the extra cash?

    • @RatchetWrenches
      @RatchetWrenches  Рік тому

      Honestly I don't think that they are worth that much money. No doubt they are a solid brand and I'm sure the fitment is great too but that seems ridiculous. I'm assuming all their parts are made in USA? That and if they are ceramic coated and xpipe is high flow could be why it's so expensive. The BBK LT's and xpipe I had were probably 1/3 the price of Kooks but I bought those a long time ago at this point

    I have a 2001 Mustang GT with Xtreme Energy comp cams stage 3 and I am still running my stock factory headers... I went against a friend that had the long tube headers and bigger intake on a drag race and he really thought he was gonna get me or even stay close but no way in hell as soon as I dropped 2nd and third he was way behind me. So I am really wondering if I should put those on my car... My car was also tuned.

    • @RatchetWrenches
      @RatchetWrenches  9 місяців тому

      I'm not surprised you left him in the dust since you have the upgraded cam. Long tubes really just change the tone of the exhaust and supply better air flow so with more supporting mods you'll see more benefits and especially with a proper tune

    Trying to see if I can do this for my Crown Vic. Regular manifolds are $100 each, and BBKs for a Mustang are like $400, for a pair. I'd have to redo the entire exhaust, but with the HP and better subs, might be worth it

    • @RatchetWrenches
      @RatchetWrenches  3 роки тому +1

      If I had to do it again I wouldn't buy BBK. For what you pay the fitment isn't great and you can't use all new hardware because of the fitment issues. At least that's how it is on my 2v. Just curious, I need a good safe starter tune for my longtubes right now since all the tuning/dyno shops are closed around me due to corona. I’m just eager to drive around but don’t want to mess up my car if I have “too much” airflow. And if there’s anybody in the comments let me know on what I should do. Don’t know why you would assume everything is off ebay, because it’s not first of all. Second of all you don’t know how much power my car makes.

      @@RatchetWrenches actually yes i know exactly what those parts add in best case scenario, to go any higher than 275 on a stock bottom end at tire you need cams or boost. I know because i have built my n/a 2valve and pro tuned by lasota racing. 😃

      I think we’re good in the clutch for while, we have a stage 2 one put in. But I’m sure we’ll manage to replace it if we have to. I’ve done worse jobs trust me 😂 hardest part will be without a lift 😬
