New performance cars come with tubular manifolds aka "shorty" headers. These cars have cast logs. Headers definitely benefit these cars, just keep your expectations realistic because you're only looking at maybe 20-25hp out of 600-800 dollar headers. The driving experience however, is priceless.
Thank you for this video, I’m saving or selling my x pipe now...I live in Los Angeles where about 700,000 people live in a 2 mile radius and the full exhaust setup (headers, x pipe, cat back) I bought would definitely upset people...I just want a better noise than stock with better hp/torque numbers if possible...seriously thank you for this...im just going to run headers with a cat back or stock
I understand that the full exhaust set up would upset a lot of people and that’s nice of you to take them into consideration! You’re welcome and good luck with your set up!

considering getting rid of my longtubes, insanely hard to pull my motor... i love the way it sounds and feels, but sadly i might have to go shorty headers

Honestly I don't think that they are worth that much money. No doubt they are a solid brand and I'm sure the fitment is great too but that seems ridiculous. I'm assuming all their parts are made in USA? That and if they are ceramic coated and xpipe is high flow could be why it's so expensive. The BBK LT's and xpipe I had were probably 1/3 the price of Kooks but I bought those a long time ago at this point

I have a 2001 Mustang GT with Xtreme Energy comp cams stage 3 and I am still running my stock factory headers... I went against a friend that had the long tube headers and bigger intake on a drag race and he really thought he was gonna get me or even stay close but no way in hell as soon as I dropped 2nd and third he was way behind me. So I am really wondering if I should put those on my car... My car was also tuned.
I'm not surprised you left him in the dust since you have the upgraded cam. Long tubes really just change the tone of the exhaust and supply better air flow so with more supporting mods you'll see more benefits and especially with a proper tune
Yea I actually bought the delete kit just need to find a plug to screw into the headers. Still unsure if I will do it, upon research, it doesn’t seem to help much, some people say it actually negatively effects the engine in a very small way
If you get a k-memeber put in long tube headers r much easier to install them.only bad thing is you cant lower your car too low unless you go with mid length
I might upgrade my k-member to a maximum motorsports eventually but for now I’m keeping the stock one on. But yeah it’s a pain with long tubes and the stock kmember.
We are kind of on the same path just with a little difference in parts. After doing weeks of research and looking at dynos..i went with tuned length headers. I went with urethane mounts..and my cams are already ordered. Cushman NPI cams. Plus a new exhaust setup coming soon.
Trying to see if I can do this for my Crown Vic. Regular manifolds are $100 each, and BBKs for a Mustang are like $400, for a pair. I'd have to redo the entire exhaust, but with the HP and better subs, might be worth it
If I had to do it again I wouldn't buy BBK. For what you pay the fitment isn't great and you can't use all new hardware because of the fitment issues. At least that's how it is on my 2v. There are other better brands out there. But yes the HP numbers with correct supporting mods can make it worth purchasing
@@gagecarter5577 No sir, now I'm thinking about 3v heads from a 05-10 Mustang, which are different headers.
