Joel Greenslade that’s awesome! You’ll love it. We actually have a lot of videos of this stang on our channel, a bunch of in depth tutorials if you’re ever interested! Feel free to subscribe to follow the build
hey man its been 9 months hows the build going
1 year, still have it?
Same bro
Pullies ,also 373 gears, throttle bodie cold air intake ,Diablo tuner and cluch with a 100 shot of nos and nitto drags . I was killing lots of cars on the track on the 1/4 mile . Oh yeah flowmaster exhaust x pipe .
Pullies and 3.73 gears are definitely on my list, I’ve heard great things from those 2 mods. I have a throttle body, CAI, flash tune, stage 2 clutch, flowmaster catback and O/R Xpipe. Looks like all I need is slicks and a shot of nos!
Love these new edges just bought one for my first car about 8 months ago. The only downside is mine is a v6 and an automatic. But man I have fallen on love with it. All I want to-do is maintain it and take care of it.
That’s awesome! Yeah they are fun cars in general but even better V8 and manual. Have fun with it!
All i need in mind is the mach 1 lip and the suspension. The previous owner had the complete exhaust setup overhauled. Custom headers, pypes h box, and flowmaster 44 series. He also added the trickflow throttle body. I added the K&N cone air filter. The car is lowered but not by a lot. As for the rims, I'm not changing them. They are the unique 35th anniversary rims and it just makes the car look so good lol
Jaime Romero damn you got lucky! Saved some money by having them on already hahah! Bet it sounds awesome too!
Thinking about an 04 as a starter car but I plan to keep it for as long as possible!
TOXIC ZX VIPER you should! They’re a blast and yeah same here I’ve had it for years now and I plan on keeping it while I daily my truck
You should. My first was one of these. I sold it because someone keyed it but I still miss it
cristian lopez Man that sucks!
cristian lopez damn that’s awful:/
Same
I took the rear spoiler off my 03. The longer it's been off, the more I like it.
It’s definitely a cool look for that generation
Bro...be careful...ones with the spoilers from the factory are on there for a reason...such as drag...the spoiler aids in pushing air to the rear increasing its ability to be STABLE when driving...if you remove it the rear of the car can get squirrelly on ya...trust me...dynamics bro...
Personally, I wouldn't recommend an intake as a first mod. You're taking in more air, but there's nowhere for it to go with a restrictive factory exhaust system. You should start from the rear and go forward. Catback, x pipe, cats/catless, headers, AND THEN throw on all the intake stuff. Now, all that extra air has somewhere to go. 👍🏽
I like your logic behind that, yeah I agree with you on that, there are so many restricting parts that come factory stock with these cars.
@@RatchetWrenches tbh it seems like a lot of the "upgrading" is just freeing up the engine to breath more ngl
I have modded or help friends mod at least 10 of these when they were NEW. Cold Air and bigger throttle bodies don't do anything. A friend of mine ran 13.9xx in the quarter in a BONE STOCK 2002 Automatic!! The first thing you do on these cars is add WELDED Sub Frame connectors and a shock tower brace (helps car handle and stiffens the structure). #2 Ford "C" springs ..lowers car helps handling ...don't forget the offset steering rack bushings! #3 Aftermarket shifter (Steeda Tri-Axe). Now if you are staying NA you need Underdrive Pullies/ Cold Air/Tbody/Ported-Polished Intake elbow/Longtubes/Cat Back Exhaust/3.73's/ Aluminum DS/Tune. Tacbear racing modded Cobra in Mexico ua-cam.com/video/Lra6MuRZz4I/v-deo.html
tacbear you got it right, I went with 4.10 gears and it goes but on the highway gotta keep it at 60mph so the rpm won’t be so high (also V V2 Si w/meth going in) ;)
@@lh32186 YOU..Will LOVE...IT!!!
@tacbear I hope, I have s foxbody with on3 turbo kit and from N/A it was a night and day difference. I know with the stock internals from the 4.6
“my limit” is 450whp, I hope it feels and it becomes fast. The 4.6 dyno at 271whp I have aftermarket clutch flywheel pressure plate and full suspension. The car runs great and keep up with a lot of modern cars.
3:73 should be the first you do. Never had subframe connectors. I do have lowering springs and koni shocks and the car handles like absolute dog shit.
An old foxbody trick is to find a 94 to 04 vert in the junkyard if you want to go with cheap sub frame connectors. You can weld them in but the coupe already has the mounting areas since its the same floor as the vert.
Just got an 01 black GT. Definitely plan on doing these mods.
That’s awesome, enjoy! They are very fun cars and easy to install mods too. If you have any questions let us know or check out some of our other videos, we have a bunch for the mustang.
You guys get better and better!
a cold air intake alone will absolutely not give you 15-20 whp lmao. what kind of bs are you slinging.
Fr and add 2-3 mph better hahaha I wish the cai would at most add 5-6 hp maybe
I thought this was gonna be blistering loud, but not bad. I got bbk long tube headers x pipe with cats slp loudmouth exhaust and that shit is LOUD AF!
This set up really wasn't too loud but my God yeah the SLP's are basically straight pipes. I bet it screams!
@@RatchetWrenches my mustang sound like a damn angry God.
awesome build man, I have a 03 gt. Had it since 2012
Thanks man! Make sure to subscribe to stay tuned for more of her. And oh yeah how do you like it?
Nice vid...even better car. I love the 99-04 mustang GT
Thank you very much!
Have an 04 GT Convertible with an auto, charcoal metallic gray. 95k miles.
Apparently no such thing as headers for it.
Anyways, the plan is; Cold air.
Throttle body.
Catted exhaust.
Shaker hood.
Mach chin spoiler.
Deeper gears.
Tuner.
Upgraded suspension but not lowered. Roads too horrid.
All new bushings in suspension.
Upgrade stereo to Bluetooth.
Quality speakers.
Huh that’s weird you should be able to put long/short tubes on it! But that’s a great start, all great mods to do. You should really feel a difference with all those upgrades. Good luck
You should add a terminator cobra wing, it would give it a more aggressive look.
Yeah for sure I love those. Definitely not done modding this car yet
I find the Roush Spoiler too look better but it's a fine line between making your car look better and turning it into a Fobra or Roush clone
I just bought a 2000 GT. Unfortunately I thought that R and R on an engine would be as easy as my other Fords. Until I found out its a Windsor which isn't readily available, and it has BBK long tubes so I couldn't pull it through the top. Swapping in a Romeo from an 08 Crown Vic. I have to put the engine in, lower crossmember, install exhaust, then raise it. Total bullcrap imo. But it has this weird McLeod clutch setup and I only paid $800 for the car. Greetings from NJ.
The long tubes do have their drawbacks and that’s definitely one of them! Such a pain to work on and work around. But wow that’s cheap, what part of jersey?
@@RatchetWrenches Manalapan!
Nice video, just got me a 2000 gt with 85k miles
Thank you! And man you’ll love it. Enjoy
Still waiting on that supercharger sound 😂
Hahahaha 😂 forgot about this. But I’m most likely going to be turbocharging the car sometime this year
7:02 no sound more glorious 👍🏾💯
You’re 100% right about that
I found a better looking front chin spoiler made by magicdrift this is urethane material it got it well packed no bends they shipped it ready for install the fitment was perfect way better than the mach 1 chin spoiler from American muscle that fitted short on my bumper if u still have ur mustang buy it ur stang will look badass
Nice thank you for the suggestion mine actually lost a few pins to secure it so I was in the market to buy another one. That magic drift is sharp looking and reasonably priced too! Might have to buy that soon
I think the New Edge spoilers are sweet. Why did you take your’s off?
I liked the look for a while but it’s currently back on.
The Pedestal Spoiler from 01, 02, 03 and 04 doesn't look as good as the lip from the 99 and 00
The giant saddle bag fake side scoops don't help the late New Edges either
Your car is sick bro I love it
Thank you! Appreciate the compliment 👍🏼
Good video, reminds of the 2v days, definitely got sub, keep the videos coming
Thanks! We just turbo'd the 2v and it's crazy pushing 435HP and 458 TQ! Definitely gotta check out some of the more recent videos
Can you post the tire sizes and wheels also links to purchase thank you
Hey Bro, awesome channel. Huge fan. I need help. I just bought a Mustang 2001 v6 (not GT, Cobra, Edge) I like to know if I can use Full synthetic oil for my engine? Help please.
Thanks appreciate it! And I would read your owners manual / do a little research on the best type of oil (weight/viscosity) to use for your specific car and it also depends on what type of climate you live in.
Man my boy the mustang looks hard right out the gate!!! Maybe you're driving the wrong car if you have to change everything that makes the mustang a mustang.
That generation is just not fast unfortunately. A lot of the mods were for performance
@@RatchetWrenches yeah I get where your coming from as far as the power but I'm referring more to the look. yeah man I've had a couple of mustangs and unmodified is fall victim to the Camaros and trans ams ugh it was tough.
Hey could you send the link to your exhaust setup. I just bought a new 03 gt btw🤘🏻
Nice have fun with it! I bought everything from Americanmuscle and late model restoration. I run BBK Long Tube Ceramic Headers, O/R BBK X-pipe (they don’t sell these anymore due to emission laws), and a Flowmaster Thunderback Catback Exhaust
headers wont do that much for.sound especially shorty's. long tube install is very difficult probably the worst car for them.that car looks sound good.dont need nothing else.
Yeah we actually installed long tubes on this. We did a video on it and you’re not wrong it was tough hahah.
Hate x pipes... The actual gains from an x is minimal compared to the H and h just sounds SOOOO much better.
Exhaust set ups are all personal preference. H-pipes don't sound bad but we just ran an xpipe since that's what we liked
Nice cold air intake I haven’t seen one like that
Thank you! And yeah it was an older style for sure
First mod doesnt even matter I'm gonna single turbo mine
Slap a pro charger on it
Please respond with everything u said about the exhaust is this correct. No cats. X pipe with flow master mufflers. Nothing done to the headers?
Yep! I now am running the long tubes, catted xpipe and flowmaster mufflers but also have the O/R xpipe too
ive been thinking of buying one but the one im looking at had cats deleted. whats best alternative?
They are fun cars I would definitely buy one. You could always buy an aftermarket catted mid pipe
Have ever had any problems with the abs back window cover . Does it rattle when going fast ? do you see what's behind u can u remove to clean up ur back window
Never had any issues with abs light, does not rattle, vision is slightly affected but not much due to the angle of the louvers, and easy to remove and clean ! Hope this helps. Would highly recommend them
An intake doesn’t add 15+ hp. It adds like 7 MAX.
Just going off what the manufacturer states, obviously those numbers are with the ideal setups but yes 7 hp is more accurate unless you match the same setup as the car it was measured on when they dynod it to give those numbers
Get that alternator chromed.
I’m not a big fan of chrome to be honest
Can you send me a list of all the stuff you got and where you can get it????besides the tires and rims.
What is you wheels and tire set up?
Rear: Deep Dish FR500 Style Black Wheel - 17x10.5 & NITTO NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Tire - 315/35R17
Front: FR500 Style Black Wheel - 17x9 & NITTO NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Tire - 275/40R17
@@RatchetWrenches Do you know any place or brand name where I can get 315/40/R17 and by the way do you think 285/40/R17 for the front? I am trying to setup a 2001 Bullitt.
@@ceansilorcaso5820 I believe I bought my setup from American Muscle a few years ago. A lot of different websites should carry close to those size tires it'll just be your preference what brand you want. That should be fine for the front, it depends on the intentions of the car you want for what size you're going to run (drag, street build, etc).
Love your car 🖤
Ms Muscle Car thank you! Please help us out by subscribing
I’m going to look at this 2001 GT at a dealership I’m curious how much do y’all think I’ll be paying I’m insurance I’m 19 and it would be fully covered
Nice! It really depends on the insurance you go with but you’re going to be paying more then average because 1) you’re 19 years old, 2) the car is considered a sports car (2 door) which increases the cost even more. I don’t wanna give you a number and mislead you the wrong way but you can easily go online and get a free quote from insurance companies
Did you have to tune it after putting on the 78mm TB?
Daren Humphrey you don’t have to but we did with our tuner. I would say you should for optimal performance gains etc.
The 2v is pretty simple. Remember an engine is an air pump. The CAI and TB don't really do much unless you guve that air somewhere to go. Real gains combine intake (filter assembly, tb, plenum), heads, headers (preferably long tube), cats (or delete, exhaust crossover (x, h...etc) high flow mufflers. Without all that the CAI amd TB sure as hell aint giving you 20 hp.
Hey this has nothing to do with the video but do you know if there is a way to get a another title I recently lost mine while cleaning out my car and wanted to know if there is a way to get a new one
Honestly I have no idea. Go to the dmv they prob can help ya out
Ratchet Wrenches Preciate that
BBK 78mm is way too big for an N/A 2v without nitrous, boost or cams…a cold air isn’t going to add 15-20hp even with a tune, especially on a 2v…you’re lucky to see 3-5 max honestly…car looks good and the video is good but believe the hype you see on American Muscles’ website
Well it’s a good thing we have it boosted and with cams installed 😝 check out the latest videos!
@@RatchetWrenches Will do, keep up the content
nice guys
adam silver thanks 🙏
I hate the lower look. My 99 convertible would love to raise it an inch. Mine is white so removing all things black.
The lower look isn’t for everyone! Good luck with the black trim removal.
What size tire do you have in the back?
315/35R17
A cold air intake does nothing without a tune
Wrong. It frees up airflow which is cooling IAT. Allowing you to really get on the car. Opening up gains that haven’t been there. Without a tune you can get some extra horsepower but yes with a tune you’ll get the most out of it
@@RatchetWrenches Wrong. The SR Performance intake doesn't "free up airflow." First off, your car already came with a "cold air intake." The filter doesn't have to be in the wheel-well to be a cold air intake, the system just has to draw air from that area and that's what the stock system does. Secondly, the filter used on the SR kit has significantly less surface area that the stock air filter does. That gives the same effect as trying to suck a milkshake through a coffee straw. Thirdly, the stock system doesn't go to the trouble from drawing air from outside of the engine compartment, only to run it through a heat-absorbing and heat retaining aluminum tube. If you do get any extra horsepower, its within the margin of "soiled filter v. clean filter" in the stock system.
It seems counter-intuitive to a lot of people, but there's a reason why the stock plumbing isn't smooth on the inside diameter like the SR's plain aluminum tube is. It's the same reason why golf balls have dimples all over them. Its called "laminar flow."
Some people think the system looks cool. But aside from costing $90.00 or whatever, that's about all it does.
Some of the aftermarket cold air systems for the New Edge can improve throttle response off-idle and the SR will on clean new filters. But, you know, you can make the stock system do the same thing with a simple mod of the "silencer snorkel" that pokes out into the fenderwell area.
Jerrold Shelton Are you stating fact or personal opinion?
I wonder why they bother to sell CAI if as you say, the metal aluminum defeats the purpose? The facts are Aluminum is more effective at removing heat from air than plastic is and contains a lower friction resistance to air over plastic. Manufacturers put plastic intakes because its cheaper to make than installing a quality aluminum intake. Also, Aluminum will not distort from high heat temps so the shape will remain constant on the other hand plastic may distort from the heat. I will say they are mostly for looks but not a complete waste of money especially if you have a free flowing exhaust system and larger throttle body, both which I have.
Damn good video God bless America
Duck Santana thanks! Please help is out by subscribing! #Murica
What years your car?
2002
The Alternator in my 94 Explorer sport sounds more like a super charger than the 4.6 2V with that crappy eBay CAI. PS, the stick Intake with a drop in performance air filter will preform better than a CAI.
www.paladinmicro.com/pmicro.php#
It’s not a crappy Ebay CAI it’s from a reliable website and with a tune does just fine thanks for your input!
What, no rear spoiler?
Ayyyy kill it Wes
what size rims do you have?
17x10.5 deep dish in the rear and 17x9 up front

the ones who disliked this video can fucking burn in hell xD
Soooo lame..
But your mustang looks pretty
What do you find lame about this?
First 🙌🏼
You need HEADERS more than mufflers on those cars! I love SN-95 and new edge mustangs but the stock exhaust manifolds are truly an abomination. The fact that you don’t mention this shows yours ignorance on this subject 🤷♂️
Poor choice of words there. First of all this is an opinionated video, second I am doing headers on the mustang this weekend
literally no one gives a shit
Shorty headers are worth about nothing and longtubes don't set the world on fire either. Who the heck buys an SN95 Mustang and installs headers with the stock catback?
Eh or a straight pipe like mine
The stock GT exhaust manifolds flow almost as good as any shorty header. Long tubes are another story but u live in California so that is a no for me.
