- After sitting abandoned under a tree row for a year, the paint on my 2014 Jaguar F-Type S was destroyed. I've never seen a video requested more than this so today we're going to detail the Jag, paint correct it, and try to breath some life into this car that is hurting. After correcting it we'll protect it with Avalonking Armor Shield IX. After quite a few hours of work the car is completely transformed and ready to return to daily driver duty!

Please tell me you didn’t one step black paint with compound and go with the combination that had the best defect removal with least amount of haze.it doesn’t take much longer to use a fine polish with maybe a white pad. I know it also comes down to the budget but a few more hours and 2 step is worth the money.
I was thinking the same. Back in the day, we would use the high grit and polish until the polish was all gone. No wiping polish off with the towel. And of course, the lighter grit to get the swirls out, again, letting the machine polish until the polish was gone. Maybe the process has changed with newer compounds.
Didn’t clay bar the contaminants away either. Larry from ammo nyc guy would cringe. I’m glad that’s not my car. I’d want my money back.
I agree, that haze is micro marring from the heavy cut compound, a 2nd step with finishing pad and finishing polish would have really made a big difference but I get that you have a budget and the detail dudes time is worth something. Looks great and if you're happy that's all that really matters.
I didn’t want to say anything, but…..yeah. It was a good transformation none the less. Far from perfect, but perfect from afar. Like, 20 ft maybe. But, as mentioned, there were probably time and cost constraints.
Seeing your reflection as you rode your scooter beside the Jag too get those awesome montage shots towards the end; I literally thought: "I could Watch Jr Go."

I love the way it looks out in the sun but under the right lighting, not so much. I appreciate this was meant to be a quick correction job and it looks a lot better but the paint needed going over with a finishing polish with an orange or black pad before the coating to take this to a truly acceptable standard. Someone with a trained eye would think the polishing was rushed or done by a weekend warrior without proper technique or tools unless they'd seen what the paint looked like before.

Turned out amazing!!! I hope I can add a different view point without getting slaughtered. On many cars in this condition, sometimes it’s worth a fine 2000 grit orbital sanding (yes it takes away clear), polish it out in a three stage, get it looking amazing and take almost all the scratches out. Yes this limits the life span of the paint. I love this car, but it’s a very nice common car and a resorts doesn’t hurt value all that much if a resorts were ever needed down the road. Add to that the end gol is adding a ceramic coat which is essentially like adding a clear, which allows you to take some more clear off of the car to repair or level the deeper scratches out and prolong the life span of the paint. Just a different angle or view point and I love watching your channel. The jag turned out amazing, and please continue with all the great work and fun things you bring to us to see. Thank you

John - Great series, I winced a lot on the early episodes with you thinking you could pull the motor just by 'going at it.' The multi-motor build-strip-build was informative and reassured me that I could do that too (I'm original owner 2015 F-Type coupe). Personally, I think the F-Type is the most beautiful car ever built and you really saved this one and made it shine.

Looks a lot better outside then it did inside the shop. It look very hazing inside. Probably cause of the shop lights . But it looks very sharp in the sun

Trailered to dealer - assumed it was the coolant pipes
Dealer did a pressure test -
Sent pictures of the issue and pleased with that
New coolant pipes, recommend manifold, thermostat (both preventative)
What was odd the oil had not been changed in 20k miles - which was still good very pleased

Welcome to AMMO-Wichita! You can tell that there's still a lot of haze (fuzzy reflections of the lights) but there's not much else you can do without at least a full re-clear. Looks a million times better than before--nice job, Statue! And I love the wheels too.
The Jaguar came out great - The wheels really look good on that car - I thought they were a dark bronze not a gold bronze - WOW!!!
That model is one of the best looking black convertibles ever.

this was a good challenge - noticable difference - some fisheyes are just from bad paint job - good luck on finding new place - buy some land and build from scratch - it will only take a couple days to write it up - location is everything - you want 3-4 bay and attached office - 80x24 - 1920 sq ft and you want space to build out another garage for storage or just running 2 shops - a smaller place will be way more manageable - also consider buying something and remodel but really you want to diy build and get what you want plus save money #sweat equity

Great job. Are you planning on fixing the retractable spoiler or is it not broken? It looks odd set to permanently up especially when parked.
it has a setting to stay up for cleaning ( or posing )
There's a button inside the car. If you push the button it stays up even when parked. Otherwise it's automatic and will raise at 63 MPH, and lowers at 45 MPH.

Dang that came out so shiny you could see a vampire's reflection in it.
Never tried Avalon King, but have sued Adams graphene ceramic polish. These ceramic polishes rock! But you really do need to apply indoors out of the sun. Sun cures it too quickly and then it's a bear to polish off.
Black is always a hard finish to make look good but your guys did pretty good.

This has been a really interesting series of videos, and it's been fascinating watching the transformation. However, I don't think that's anywhere near a 95% correction detail. I get the paint was pretty hammered, but it still looked like there was work to be done to get it anywhere near 85%, let alone 95%.

That's a beautiful body on that car.
They're nice looking sports cars (I'd never by the convertible), but after watching this engine project, I wouldn't touch one with a 10 ft pole.
A lot of hard work to complete this transition with excellent results. You are fortunate to be able to have the tools and ability to complete the task yourself. Paying the labor costs would make a project of this magnitude cost prohibitive.
