    I love that the first note he gives is on aiming and alignment. It has to be the element that gets the least amount of attention in golf. Without someone to assist you really have no way of knowing where you're aimed or if all those alignment points he mentioned are correct.

    David "fine tuning" an already brilliant swing. Watched DL many times over the years. He teems logic and practicality rather than the "scientific" approach. Nothing wrong with working on the tiny variables Piers, just as long as you convert and incorporate the advice into your "natural" swing state. Brilliant video. Best Wishes..gd, Yorkshire, England.

    • @meandmygolf.
      @meandmygolf.  5 років тому +1

      It was slightly different Tony. GG likes to round off the upper back where David was looking more to the pelvis to create a more "neutral spine". I think the slightly different pivot motion was the biggest take away. I was aware of it before but not really done anything about it. It's starting to feel more comfortable now.

    6:34 always drop the alignment rod at the heels, not the toes. One foot is usually flared out a bit more, causing the rod to not show a true stance alignment direction. An inch on the tee box is yards on the green.

    It is so tough to take all these concepts and create a Golf Swing. The one to take away is that even the Pros need another Pro to check the basics of setup and alignment. If your not taking lessons each year to keep the basics in check then you've got no hope of getting to scratch and below. Good luck Piers...my game would fall apart after a session like that!

    Watching the swing of todays US Open leader Matt Wolfe, it's certainly very much like the A Swing. I wonder...

    • @erykvonkeith
      @erykvonkeith 4 роки тому

      The "A" Swing is an exact copy of Calvin Peete's swing. Club outside the hands with the face shut until just before the top, then square off followed by the natural rerouting to the inside on the way down. Check any video's of Peete's swing and I'm sure you'll be convinced. He led the tour in driving accuracy and GIR for almost a decade and it would be hard to imagine that David hasn't analyzed it at some point and had a light bulb moment. But I do agree that Matt has "A" Swing features. Or more accurately, "Peete" swing features.

    • @dtgps
      @dtgps 5 років тому +1

      @@conpapas6023 The idea that the body can coil or wind up is bogus, not opinion. That faulty premise, leads to faulty instruction and injury.
      We can only pivot about a fixed points... our hip joints.
      To pivot properly in BS, we have to turn, not twist or coil up.
      The ROM of scapula gives the appearance of stretch and coil but it is simply ROM of scapula.

    • @conpapas6023
      @conpapas6023 5 років тому

      Seriously Mik you need to stop telling the world you’re right. Watch the video. The whole point of the video is the backswing is a pivot not a turn away or slide, hence the feeling of loading up or coiling. AT NO POINT IS THERE A SUGGESTION THAT MUSCLES OR JOINTS COIL. DL teaching Piers the same stuff about posture and coil that George Gankas was showing them last year. Need to do more TPI flexibility though to coil and stay in posture in the downswing and get it nailed like Rory or JT!! :o :o

      So, you actually think that Lead is getting info from George Gankas? Seriously? This guy Gankas is dangerous. For starters, there is no one on Tour worth a lick that will accept being across the line like the MAJORITY of players that Gankas teaches. Furthermore, the de-lofting of the club in the transition is NOT conducive to holding hard and fast greens on Tour, never mind distance control. I can go on...

      @@sabregold7657 What I actually stated was: that Lead is teaching the same things - posture and coil to the MMG guys, as GG. MMG have now done vids with both coaches, hence the comparison.
      I did not say that Lead has taken his ideas from Gankas.
      If GG's dangerous I'll stay away from him, thanks for the advice;

    Hi @meandmygolf, so now a bit of time had gone by and you've hopefully had time to work these new feelings into your swing, are you seeing a much better results with your swing out on the course?

      Hi Joakim. Thanks for the comment. It's not far from the grip yes. Reasonably neutral.

    I love this video. I literally yell "fat lazy core" at myself every time I hit a bad shot. But really I need to fix my pelvis position at address to help out my fat lazy core.
