I really enjoyed watching a pro get assisted by a wise golf coach . This is another example of how we all can gain understanding from golfers who truly love the game and understand that golf technique and body mechanics ultimately decide the way we play. Great video ... 5 stars

Just want to say a big thank you for posting this video, even though it was 6 years ago! I've been playing golf for 3 years and always struggled with setting the club and hinging the wrists in the takeaway. I found this video last night and when David said, 'set the wrists against the right elbow' everything suddenly made sense. I went to the range and tried this feel, and it has completely transformed my swing. Thanks again!

So good. I had a very similar lesson recently (with my pro not DL obviously!) to fight my overswing. I thought my wrists were too active but the feeling to fix it was hinging them more but against a straight right arm and then turn. Looking forward to seeing you work on these changes buzza

Very interesting lesson and very simple concepts that are easy to follow too. Bracing your right elbow, even with the left hand, really gets the elbow in the right position. And getting your arms working together much better too. Good luck with the new swing.

Very interesting lesson Steve. I suffer from a similar movement through the ball and trying to work on that over the winter months now. Backswing looked very much like the A swing model he is preaching. What I found crazy was how he said to work the right hand through the ball, under not over the left hand. May have to give that feeling a try in practice as I suffer from the lefts. A

this is very good stuff from leadbetter re the right arm- everyone thinks it should narrow on the downswing to produce so called "lag" (whatever that is) but it should slowly widen. sergio's right arm actually widens on the downswing, not narrows.
