    I just had the great pleasure of spending a few days in London with my family; Visiting Davidoff of London was a must and an expected experience. After buying some precious items, I had the great honor of getting to know Mr. Eddie Sahakian personally and would like to thank him for his hospitality and indescribable friendliness. The cigars were consumed immediately and were of course perfectly balanced and made my stay even better. Thank you very much for everything and best regards from Hamburg, Stefan Schoreit

    I live here in Dominican Republic and the best thing is you just can walk to any liquor store and buy a really nice cigar, I tried a Romeo & Julieta for my birthday really enjoyed it.

    Eddie, thank you! I had the pleasure of an 8-hour layover back in Sept and visiting one of my top 5 buck list locations - Davidoff of London. Your enthusiasm and passion for this craft is contagious and you're even more friendlier in person. God bless from Mississippi on a muggy smoke hanging evening!

    Greetings from Oklahoma, USA. I could listen to Eddie read the phonebook.
    If you haven't tried it yet, I really have been enjoying the Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro in the Torpedo or Figurado vitolas. Somehow they manage to be both full flavor and full body without being over-the-top. I usually pair with an Old Fashioned or just a neat bourbon (just basic Knob Creek or Redmption, but I'm not fancy).

      Oliva Serie V is one of the best cigars ever made in history undoubtedly. Regardless of the vitolas, any serie V is absolutely stunning. I always keep stock of it in my humidor.

    Hello, Eddie.
    It is always a pleasure to listen to updates in the cigar business from one of the leading experts.
    I know you're more than likely not wanting to delve into politics on your channel, but I would love to know how you think the generational smoking ban will affect the consumption of premium tobacco in the UK, and also what this means for high quality tobacconists such as Davidoff.
    The UK already suffers from an extraordinarily high tobacco tax; do you think this generational ban will phase out and destroy this wonderful hobby once and for all? I am 21, and I really do feel that I am in the last generation of cigar smokers in the UK. I think after my generation has gone, tobacco will be but a distant memory for the UK's population either at their own behest or the powers that be.
    Regardless, I thank you for your insightful content!

      I hope common sense prevails and handmade, long-filler cigars are exempted. Anyone who enjoys a cigar can help by educating our fellow citizens about the difference.

    Oliva/Joya de Nicaragua/La Galera/My Father Cigars/La flor dominicana are brands the provide good quality cigars with a reasonable price ;Davidoff has excellent cigars but they went to far with their pricing especially for the limited releases,same thing with Arturo Fuente and Padron (they pushed the gas too much)

    Good news to hear, here in western europe the market has been fairly tight in the last couple years and many of the main cuban brands even in regular formats have been on very light or non existent stock unfortunately, I hope the situation will improve going foward.
    Also, please don't apologize for the use of terms specific to the cigars world, there really is no need for it 😀

    Eddie, I am a MASSIVE admirer of you, your Father, and your store. I was able to visit once, sat in the famous chair, met both Max and Phillip, bought a few sticks to smoke in Franco's, and later enjoyed the Sahakian Cigar Lounge at the Bulgari (the Bolivar I bought there was exquisite). I WANT to buy from you, but my problem is the greed of HMG..... I can pop over the Channel to Bruges, and easily save £1k on a modest Cigar purchasing expedition. To be frank, the EMS label is, IMHO, worth a 10, or even 20% premium. The legendary service from your goodselves is likewise of value. But I just have a hard time denying myself the pleasure of a Cuban cigar in Bruges at +/- 75% cheaper than London (excl Cohibas and Trinidads, as you know). Please help me... what can I do?

      @@davidofflondon3525Eddie is a fine salesman. And in my personal opinion Davidoff is the best cigar merchants in London. But that comes at a price. You really need to be a millionaire to have a daily routine of Cuban cigars. And the price they actually are in Cuba you need to be really wealthy to turn a blind eye of how much you’re getting ripped off in London.

    I see them dripping in more here in the Netherlands too. I was able to buy a box of the Partagas Maduro no. 1 for example. And to my surprise, they are already very good even though they only have a box date of May 2023.
    And as you say, I’ve just been smoking a lot of great new world cigars. Was just smoking an Oliva V Melanio, which was amazing.

    Hi Eddie. I have also recently subscribed to the Cigar aficionado UA-cam page. One thing I notice a lot from them that makes no sense. Cigar of the week. What does that mean, every cigar they show has been out for years. Is it particularly nice this week. I love how you are concise and don't push towards things that are very subjective. Why is it good this week was it bad last week. Thank you for being precise.

    Mr Sahakian,
    Please feel safe in your using the word New World cigars in describing all other cigars other than Cubans as this is accepted by most enthusiast. There is a Very boisterous and dare I say arrogant person in Aaron Sigmond who has shunned those who use the word New World. You are a true gentleman and let not those who are the fewest and loudest have an effect on you.

    There is tons of not sold Triniads in Europe after price increase. There are get 1 get 1 free promotions now in LCDHs. One more price increase and they will add free Trinidad to every pack of chips. Most cigars shops can't store cigars proparly in walking humidor for more than a year (plume/ mold from shoe dust or not enough humidity) so there are lots of Trinidads with broken wraper... They ruined Trinidad reputation forever IMO with this price increase.

    Eddie,
    Good Afternoon. I hope you and all your family are well. May I recommend two new world cigars that I had the pleasure of smoking while I lived in the US;
    Firstly, La colmena and its reversed brother Black Honey from Warped (all of their cigars are fantastic).
    Secondly, Casadagli really anything from the line however in my humble opinion the Daughter of the wind is a standout.
    I hope you get to try these fab cigars one day.

    Eddie..Love from the States, but honestly the term "New World" cigars is quite antiquated. Fuente,Padron,Oliva and dare I say Rocky have all been around for a quarter century plus and Davidoff hasn't used Cuban tobacco in over 35 years.. just call it either Habanos or respect other countries and give a shot out to them.

    • @colinjarvis5935
      @colinjarvis5935 2 місяці тому

      Give it some time… just a few years ago they didnt have access to other cigars. Just the face that cuban connoisseurs are even open to them at all is a huge step. Cuba will price themselves out of the market once people realize there are $10 cigars that deliver comparable flavor and more consistency than $50 cubans. Some cubans are still amazing just not worth the prices compared with New Worlds

    Cuban cigars are from communist cuba. They have lost all their top rollers and torcedors to other countries. The land is over worked and lacking nutrients it once had. Cuba has no access to other leafs from vast amounts of other countries. Most vitally they are disgustingly priced.. NEW WORLDS alllll day long

    • @jkf3169
      @jkf3169 5 місяців тому

      Spoken like a true prophet. In my personal experience, I haven't found many tobacconists or long time cigar enjoyers who speak positively about Cubans. Cuban cigars only appeal to the status seeking, gullible, and easily manipulated population. They see it in movies and hear about it in magazines and online, add to that is the scarcity effect that the US embargo has, and the NPC desire to suck the dicks of those who sell for the most ridiculous price, and you've got the Cuban cigar market in a nutshell
