One of the coolest things to see here is two guitarists playing smallish amps, no PA system, no miking, just organically flowing through the crowd. Fantastic!!!
FWIW I was there and I've played there too. There is of course a PA for the Vox and drums, but the 2 guitar amps aren't usually mic'ed there. GT was playing his old Pro Reverb, and Tom was (I love this so much) playing the house deluxe reverb. So cool!
G and T are throwing it down hard....but....damn.....the rhythm section is no joke. Such supportive and dynamic playing from every direction. Thanks for posting.
This may be the best jam I’ve ever seen /heard/ experienced... mind blown .. ... when I grow up I wanna play like THIS. unfortunately I’m already 60yrs old.. but I’m workin on it anyway..
Reminds me of the great music we were getting in the late 70's, in the wake of the jazz fusion influences! Before we lost our way. But, alas there is still hope! Thanks Uncle Larry and Guthrie!
Many thanks to Tom, Guthrie and the band for putting their music out for the public and to Brett for his hard work filming, editing and posting such professional quality videos. All for the love of music 🎸🤙🙏
Thank you Brett for sharing this with us! For those who don't already know, that first song is a part of Track 2 'The Window' on 'In Stereo' Some of us were fortunate enough to catch them on Twitch Live Streaming the studio session courtesy of 'IamTheWook' when they were developing this track and recording some of the parts. Outstanding!!! Our Uncle Larry is the master arranger and Guthrie was absolutely in the zone and on FIRE!! Many of his improves that did not make it on the track were incredible!! 3+ hours of being a fly on the wall watching all these gifted musicians work their magic in the studio.
I can’t believe it, I finally landed a cybersecurity job That’s going to put me just a few minutes away from these wonderful venues. It’s like a life dream come true. I know it’s packed, and I know there’s a lot of tourism. I’m there for the music.
I would move to Nashville just to go out and see Uncle Larry and the other amazing musicians play out live. This is some great stuff, thanks for putting it up on YT.
I just went to the Underdog and caught an ear melting performance from the GTT on December 30, 2024. Now that I've been there, I can only imagine the vibes for THIS show.
Are you kidding me that solo was from another realm Guthrie Tom was looking at you like no way! Dude you raised some hairs on my neck wish I were there
Tom at his gurning best!! And the gentle, supportive drumming during the 4’ Bukovak interlude sort of reminds me of Billy Cox when he was bassing for Hendrix’s Band of Gypsys at the close of the 60’s!
The underdog is a great place an absolute hole in a wall ! lol we got three beers for 20 bucks the cheapest we paid in all of Nashville. But besides all that, music is the forefront once they get on stage look out!
This is just melodically brilliant and the rhythm section is so in the pocket. Been listening to their album In Stereo constantly recently as well as GTs too.
It must be amazing (and FUN) to play with Uncle Larry. He makes EVERYTHING sound so smooth, rich and soulful. There is so much FEEL there, it just perfectly sets the atmosphere so everyone can breathe.
Two of the coolest cats ever. What I love about this is knowing both of these guys are capable playing with flawless technique @ blistering speed, but they have nothing to prove to anybody. What they played here, every note was intentional and served purpose. Subtle nuances and having something to say with the instrument and the mastery to be able to say it "without yelling" for lack of a better analogy. These two, Brent, Greg Koch, they inspire me to still want to play every minute of everyday I can, after all these years. They remind me how much I love music, and, when my hat is getting a lil too snug regarding my own playing, I can hear them and it's like I'm 14yo, fumble fingering my way thru remarkably bad versions of wildwood flower/proud mary/sweet home Alabama for some poor victim and seeing their "awe, bless your heart" smile as they give pity appreciation. Somehow I didn't know about Guthrie and Tom's album. I HAVE to have it.
I must've watched this 30 times in the last couple weeks. Just grabbing my guitar and jamming along to it lately has been such a joy. Thanks for the tunes.
This music literally lifts me out of this sad world into a beautiful ethereal realm. This isn't chops flashing, it's truly inspired. Thank You for sharing.

I badly needed this-hearing two virtuosos playing their guitars inside out. These guys are among the scant few who are keeping their eyes on the future. Thanks so much for posting this.
I keep having a vision of Bill Frissel floating down into the mix in those first 8 minutes , tele in hand and ready to go straight Frisalien on that beautiful tune..
Just felt compelled to drop you two a line about the new record/cd not only is the whole thing from beginning to end just a killer but it is ALSO one of the best studio recordings I’ve heard in a very long time anybody looking to record should use this as a benchmark on sound/recording thx guys 👍
I closed my eyes and felt like I was at Ronnie Scott’s with Jeff Beck. Tom expresses and channels his emotions through his guitar in a way that only a master can, and in the moment something that is pure and beautiful comes out.
Listen an watched this multiple times and just now heard Guthrie slip in a Reggie Young style lick at the 12:23 mark. Very cool, love hearing the influence of other Nashville legends being represented among the current players.
The Talent of GT and The Bukovac is obvious. But how's the rhythm section!! Those two are so on point, complimenting each other with oodles of light and shade in their playing whilst not overpowering the guitars and allowing them to shine. First class gents!
The fact that such music exists in 2024 gives hope......
100% agreed!
Absolutely!

i *LIKES* it !
Yup 💜🙏🏼✨
Beato brought me here,,, oh my goodness,, what a beautiful treat
They know how it’s done for sure!
Same here, heard them on Beato and bought their record. Awesome talent.

Beato - he’s still out there huh. I’ve blocked his trash too many times - never see him thank gawd.
I'm here for Tom and Guthrie. And holy cow with the rhythm section, too.
