      Tbh my experience with Sony has been awful.
      My first high end TV was from Sony and I loved the picture the display in one year got dead pixels then a long black line through the screen. Luckily I bought the extended warranty, problem was they eliminated that tier of tv and I either had to downgrade or upgrade to the flagship (which was going to be another $2-3k on top of what I already paid.
      So I downgraded. Lost full array local dimming, but color was decent. In a year the software got so slow, using the tv was a sluggish nightmare. So I got a fire stick for streaming. Worked for a little bit but the fire stick was crap so I dropped the money on an AppleTV 4k with Dolby vision. Didn’t even work with the TV’s default settings so I had to go through settings and turn things on and off just to get the AppleTV to recognize that my tv supports Dolby Vision. Then I had major stutters, freezing and frame drops. Thought I may have bought a lemon Apple TV. Nope it is that stupid Sony tv. Apparently their cinemotion doesn’t play nice with AppleTV, had to disable it and match Apple TV’s frame rate to that of the Sony tv.
      Nothing but problems I’m so over the tv, but I was holding on to it until something better came. Now I’m throwing it in the trash and probably going to try Samsung this time around and say to hell with Sony and Dolby vision.

      Those two settings are defaulted on the former and off on the latter and will cause you nothing but problems.

    The scene with the guy on the phone in the Disney+ comparison looked darker and devoid of colour on the B9. And you’re right the space scene was brighter and had more colour on the B8. Perhaps the cinema mode is not very good on the B9? Tech With KG compared the B9 to the B8 side by side in his B9 review, and the colour volume and brightness on the B9 was better than the B8 (and even better than the G4 according to him), but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

    Engineering background. My friend no doubt, the Bravia 9 is superior however, the sticker pice is down right offensive. For a 65" you are talking $3200 on Amazon and $2100 for a 55". I like that I could pay about $1500 and get the Bravia 8. It sits in between the Bravia 7 Mini LED and the Bravia 9 it is the perfect price point, where I can save up and get it on Black Friday, and pay it in cash full. I recommend the Bravia 8 but if you have the cash, then go foe the best in the line up Bravia 9. It won several awards as well but I am afraid with TV's going bad about 3-5 years, now a days, it is not worth it. Bravia 8 is pushing it but that is my recommendation. xI like the Bravia 8 and want ot get the 55" for my main living and use it for my PS5. How is it for gaming? This order is subjective, OLED w/ MLA for instance has poor color volume as the white subpixel tends to dim a lot of the color at higher brightness. MiniLED does not have the issue. In fact the Bravia 9 at higher brightness will look much more vibrant than the LG G4 which is a very popular OLED MLA panel.

When I worked on a cruise ship, our salaries were calculated according to our country's standards, so since I'm form Europe, my salary was 1650$ and my boss, who was from India had around 800$ salary. • @richr161
      @richr161 2 місяці тому +7

      The main advantage over an Oled is that there is no risk of burn in and its able to get brighter.
      The first one is important because i have a qdoled and even babying it, it does have some minor burn in after 2 years that can be seen on greyscale tests. Its a computer monitor, thats what it was marketed as, but it still succumbs to burn in, even with me respecting every pixel refresh and panel refresh.
      If your going to buy a display and hammer it with no care OLED is not the tv to buy. These tvs aren't the 10+ year usage.
      The second is important, because most people don't sit in a perfectly dark room. Perfect black is great, but watching tv during the day with windows open or lights on and a tv that can get bright is important. That perfect black stops being perfect with any light.

As far as the soundbar goes, get the HT-A9 and let the TV handle the center channel. The enclosed SB's sound field can never be compared to actual spatial effects of separate, dedicated speakers. What a shame that you won't be reviewing the much more affordable B7, supposedly the successor to X95L. Mini LEDs have better picture depth than oleds…...something I don’t hear many people talk about.

    • @paulcox2447
      @paulcox2447 2 місяці тому +30

      That's because they don't. The infinite contrast is what creates picture depth and OLEDs with vantablack pixel level blacks have more depth.. it's literally their biggest advantage.
      I'm sorry but you have it backwards

    • @OnSafari247
      @OnSafari247 2 місяці тому +6

      @@paulcox2447 I disagree.....The infinite contrast is not what creates the depth; there's other factors at play. Mini Leds have better depth (for whatever reason) while oled pictures seem more painted on. I own both, it's not like I'm new to this.

      @@paulcox2447your blind and don’t see the video you’re commenting on? Brightness provides depth just as much as black levels if that brightness is paired with good black level/contrast.

      @@paulcox2447 I know what he means I have both the A95L and the Bravia 9. Mini LED’s do have a certain perceived depth due to being a transmissive display with a lot more layers. OLED is emissive and can look “painted”.
      That being said the micro contrast from the individual pixel lighting makes the detail of OLED unmatched and to my eyes it makes the picture almost look higher resolution. They each have their pros/cons but if I had to choose 1 I would choose a QD-OLED without a second thought.

      @@IntotheFurther. Mini LED still can’t provide the micro contrast of an OLED where there’s is tiny dark areas within a small zone of a light area. Watch digital trends video from 5 days ago labeled QLED vs OLED. He does a great job breaking this down and showing the micro contrast

      Agreed, the Bravia 9 obliterates the B8 OLED, that's why it doesn't even come close. It's so much higher that the comparison is pointless...
