It's not Nickelback, it's Pearl Jam; which is why he suddenly went, "Jeremy's spoken" ..that's an ode to Pearl Jam. Basically, a lot "modern rock" bands in the 90's were accused of imitating Eddy Vedder from Pearl Jam.
Why on earth are you confused? The song is about him wishing he had a dark side to appear deep, but he can't resist returning to a playful mode. Hence, yippee
Tim is hilarious and incredibly talented an absolute genius. I'm here for as much Tim as u wanna react too. Also that spanking story. I can have a darkside too had me dead 😂😂😂😂
So many to listen to: Lullaby, If I didnt have you, White wine in the sun, Play it safe, The Pope Song, Not Perfect, Inflatable you, Apart Together, Beat poems: Storm, One day you'll be as good as Elton John... So many different subjects
This whole tour/show is absolute fantastic, with a good mix of funny songs and heart felt songs too I always thing Tim’s under appreciated as a musician as most people see the funny side of his music, so I’m glad he’s getting more recognition now
I did not see Tim until I was 50. My teenage kids took me along to his concert. I have seen him in concert several times since. His talents in so many different areas make him a true Renaissance man.
There’s so much variety in his songs. Highly recommend “inflatable you”, if you haven’t reacted to it yet. Otherwise, being a man of God now, I’m not sure how you may react to some of his other big songs, like “thank you God” & “Pope Song”. There’s also a beat poem about a dinner party interaction that great - I can’t remember the name, but I’m sure someone in the comments will know.
"Lullaby" is great, "thank you god" is amazing", "rock and roll nerd" will help explain this song, please go down the rabbit hole of Tim minchin you will not regret it.
Dude Tim Minchin is an Aussie treasure. If you're enjoying musical comedy you should check out Flight of the Conchordes from New Zealand, those guy's are incredibly hilarious 😂
Just so many to choose from but White Wine in the Sun is a beautifully poignant Christmas song from an atheist perspective, also his performances in the Jesus Christ Superstar musical were phenomenal.
Have you shared that story with your wife...?! The YIPEE! is the irrepressible up-beat Tim, fighting back through the Dark Side Act. And then when he goes into 'channeling' the emo... So on point.
Tim has an amazing voice, if you want to see an insane vocal performance by him, check him out singing ''Heaven in their minds '', he played Judas in the musical ''Jesus Christ Superstar''. absolutely amazing.
I’ve got a fire take on Tim Minchin vs Bo Burnham. Tim is the natural optimist who wishes he was a pessimist and Bo is the natural pessimist who wishes he was an optimist. Tim’s music is naturally very playful and fun (still philosophical) but ultimately optimistic on the state of the world. This song and Rock and Roll Nerd are good examples. Bo very much wishes he was an optimist evidenced by having a whole special called Make Happy but he is continuously drawn to what’s wrong with the world which is insanely evident in all his stuff but especially Art Is Dead, That Funny Feeling, Repeat Stuff, Oh Bo and basically all of Inside
should give this a watch a it's a nit stand up (well Tim's sitting Should it be be called a sit up ?) and a song "Tim Minchin On Offensive Language | So F***ing Rock | Universal Comedy"
This is the second video of his you just don't get. The yippee is because he is tryig to be dark for his girlfriend but can't help himself, he is happy.
Lullaby, If I didn't have you, Rock & Roll Nerd, and his beat poem Storm are all great. Knowing you are a man of faith, you may find his works with religious content a bit offensive. I personally think it is hillarious but songs like the Pope Song and Thank you God may not be to your liking.
BP, Tim is not religious. He will call out hypocrisy when he feels the need. His cleverness as he does so is out of this world. This involves digs at established religions (*Pope Song [not a YT favourite]), also religious (*Thank You God) and spiritual (*Storm, [a beat poem]) nutters. *Rock and Roll Nerd, has more great piano work. *If I Didn't Have You, is worth listening to. *I am sure Don would like *Confessions. *Woody Allan Jesus is cleverly written (and performed). *15 Minutes is worth listening to *Not Perfect is poignant *If This Plane Goes Down is a beautiful, more mature, typically introspective, Tim type song. *The Aeroplane is in my opinion, one of the greatest love songs ever written. Donnie Darko for Dummies is another that Don may like. 3 minute song is cleverly performed, regardless the version.
I second what seansavage says “thank you god” WITH the HERITAGE ORCHESTRA VERSION. THAT MATTERS. Don’t do the pope song it will Just be trouble for the channel

“Yippee” because it’s about the last thing you’d expect from someone trying to convince you he has a dark side.
his poem "Storm" is just awsome
Why on earth are you confused? The song is about him wishing he had a dark side to appear deep, but he can't resist returning to a playful mode. Hence, yippee
Yeah definitely another vote here for "Thank You God" the long version with the explanation before the song - so you have the context.
Agree ❤
POPE SONG NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really want you to do "Thank you God" by him! Do the version with the symphony :)
Agree! The Pope Song - and Thank you god are a good pairing!
I saw that live, it was amazing
Minchin is a bit quirky but most geniuses are😉
Tim is hilarious and incredibly talented an absolute genius. I'm here for as much Tim as u wanna react too. Also that spanking story. I can have a darkside too had me dead 😂😂😂😂
White Wine in the Sun is absolutely my favourite Tim Minchin song.
Best Christmas song ever
He’s just an overall feckin genius!
So many to listen to: Lullaby, If I didnt have you, White wine in the sun, Play it safe, The Pope Song, Not Perfect, Inflatable you, Apart Together, Beat poems: Storm, One day you'll be as good as Elton John... So many different subjects
Tim is one of my faves! You should check out Thank You God with the heritage orchestra! And his 9 minute beat poem called Storm.
This whole tour/show is absolute fantastic, with a good mix of funny songs and heart felt songs too
I always thing Tim’s under appreciated as a musician as most people see the funny side of his music, so I’m glad he’s getting more recognition now
I'd recommend "You grew on me", amazing song and lyrics.
Tim is Just brilliant
Your face when he goes "yippee" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I loved Tim on Californication.

Lol - so bi-polar.
I could listen to him jam out on the piano for hours!

I love how it says 'Translate to English' underneath lol
@@techsoul5590 😅😅, I know right! I've seen that many times when that is written 😳😅🤦🏼♀️
I'm pretty sure Tim's comedy goes over your head most of the time.
Storm, the animated version is incredible by Tim!
Good reaction...good song. Try Thank You God with the orchestra. He has beliefs different from yours but the comedy and talent is there

Tim works so hard for that Fur elise joke 😂
Dude Tim Minchin is an Aussie treasure. If you're enjoying musical comedy you should check out Flight of the Conchordes from New Zealand, those guy's are incredibly hilarious 😂
Tim Minchin - "If I didn't have you", stay for the story after.
Lol! You looked so confused on the Yipee! 😂 love from Australia
this brought something out of you and its glorious haha
Just so many to choose from but White Wine in the Sun is a beautifully poignant Christmas song from an atheist perspective, also his performances in the Jesus Christ Superstar musical were phenomenal.
Tim Minchin - The Good Book
With your spanking story 😅 you’ve got to check out “Confessions”!
Absolutely!!! It's HILARIOUS
Have you shared that story with your wife...?!
The YIPEE! is the irrepressible up-beat Tim, fighting back through the Dark Side Act.
And then when he goes into 'channeling' the emo... So on point.
Lullaby with your wife she'll relate
Tim’s also a great actor, been in mini series here in Oz. Very witty and his piano skills are out of this world being somewhat self taught
Tim has an amazing voice, if you want to see an insane vocal performance by him, check him out singing ''Heaven in their minds '', he played Judas in the musical ''Jesus Christ Superstar''. absolutely amazing.
Seconded. I was lucky enough to see it live and he stole the show.
first! you need way more Tim! he is amazing!
Yep def. More Tim!
'Hit me with your rhythm stick' by Ian Dury. Suits your story!
Hit me slowly; hit me quick...
He is the singing Bob Cat Goldthwaite😂
I love what this made you share with us 😅
He is just so much fun - and a genius.
For contrast, White Wine In The Sun.
Its important to include a fly kick in your applause outro on a piano
You'd probably really like "Prejudice."
The Dark Side was written because Sony screwed him.
I can’t be the only one who hears the song from “Blades of Steel” when he hits that piano solo…
His song "Grew On Me" is one of the greatest love songs ever written. No jokes. Check it out!
I love his performance as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar!
He is fantastic !!!❤
The Pope Song. The end. Trust lol 😅
You need to see The Pope Song
Thank you god

Check out Pope? You mean THE POPE SONG. Wait until you see LULLABY. Another really clever one is THE 3 MINUTE SONG that he does on Conan.
I believe he's related to 70's rock royalty 🤘
should give this a watch a it's a nit stand up (well Tim's sitting Should it be be called a sit up ?) and a song "Tim Minchin On Offensive Language | So F***ing Rock | Universal Comedy"
at first I thought he said he wrote it at KFC line 🤣
also, he was great in Californication
Fantastic reaction and performance, thank you Sir 🙏🐊❤️🦉👍
Hope this is the awesome version I will watch your reaction when I get home from work in around 8 hours 👍
you might enjoy Bill Baily
Rock and roll nerd i think you would like 😊
This is the second video of his you just don't get. The yippee is because he is tryig to be dark for his girlfriend but can't help himself, he is happy.
It's like watching Cheeco Marx play piano.
Tim is wow!
I'm so sad how many reactors don't understand Pearl Jam.
He reminds me of Beetlejuice
Born entertainer. 😃
The Pope Song!! 😃
Gotta be next!
he is always in bare feet so funny
Robert… a Man of God now…
Lullaby, If I didn't have you, Rock & Roll Nerd, and his beat poem Storm are all great. Knowing you are a man of faith, you may find his works with religious content a bit offensive. I personally think it is hillarious but songs like the Pope Song and Thank you God may not be to your liking.
You're the first American human that got it...straight up got it..congrats..wonderful....taa...I've worked with him a bit..lovely human.
No, do "Storm"!
👍
You should have started with rock and roll nerd, considering that song is the lead in to this one and provides context.

Donnie Darko for Dummies is another that Don may like.
3 minute song is cleverly performed, regardless the version.
That was ummmmm interesting 🤔
Some people need the NF'S and Rens and Linkin Parks, and thats cool and relatable BUT some people are the YIPPEES!! Of the world.
I think Ren's both & brilliant at both
✌️
Not my favourite of his, but I always show it to new people to show his skill at playing
But you reacted to this a year ago on your main channel?
Nickelback ... wtf ... o_O
Yeah, imagine not knowing the Pearl Jam song referenced in the lyrics of this song, especially as it's so apropos to American culture.
I hope you check out Peter Kay Misheard Lyrics so funny
He did a song about the Pope ,,,, should react to it....
Tim tends to be happy. Hence hard to play goth. Bo Burnham is the opposite.
I second what seansavage says “thank you god” WITH the HERITAGE ORCHESTRA VERSION. THAT MATTERS. Don’t do the pope song it will
Just be trouble for the channel
C sharp minor is just a straight C scale.
Sorry, but that's not true. C# minor is C♯, D♯, E, F♯, G♯, A, and B.
"straight" C (C major) scale is: C, D, E, F, G, A, and B
@@dianathompson833 you are right!!
@@dianathompson833Is your other name Rick Beato? 😉
You just re-upload old videos from another channel (and think no one notices)? How clever!😐
C sharp is a half step above c and c flat is a half step below c so they cancel and it’s in the key of c. 🖖🏻🇨🇦
I thought so.
“Yippee” because it’s about the last thing you’d expect from someone trying to convince you he has a dark side.
