Leonard - Resonate

A documentary style video on the life, work and legacy of Group Captain Lord Leonard Cheshire VC.
Because of the age of some of the sound and film archives used, this film contains terms describing disability and disabled people that are not used today. Their presence is for the purpose of historic record and are not an endorsement.
This film was made as part of the 'Voices from Leonard Cheshire' exhibition held by the Leonard Cheshire Archive in 2021. It was produced as part of the Resonate project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Foyle Foundation.

What a wonderful man Leonard Cheshire was.

A wonderful man. I remember him visiting my school in the early 60s raising awareness of the Cheshire homes. A hero in war and peace.

Went to seen him speak in 1985, he is the only human being to have almost literally mesmerised me!

This man ranks among the bravest of the brave. Not only courageous but compassionate as well. Self-effacing and humble, his life is a role model for all men of true character.
