Ok, it's gotta be a series now. Doing it a second time's for the kinda "but what if" curiosity, but a third? *You are now obligated to see this through and I hope you have made the necessary preparations to uphold such an oath*
I will love PokeStar Studios to the ends of the earth, but I also fully understand that it isn't most people's favorite thing. I'm a theatre kid for life, so I guess it just speaks to me in a different way.
I love it, mostly because it can give you some pretty good items for basically nothing. Before the 3rd gym, you can stock up on a bunch of Lemonades, Escape Ropes, and even Vitamins.
The only problem I have with PokeStar Studios is that the introduction is too long. You have to watch Roxie's dad try to make his own movie, mess up the movie, then record your own movie before the game will let you go.
I agree that pokestar studios is super lame and I wish it wasn’t mandatory to do it the one time. Also I was surprised to find out that Sun and moon had such a small bit between trials this time around since the beginning of the game is so long and they’re traditionally seen as long games in general due to how many unskippable cutscenes there are. Also I didn’t realize this video was also gonna be an HM slave video. Btw I love that you get a free lapras later in the X and y games. Thanks for the content and looking forward to more videos in the future 😁
Love your videos! Was so happy to see you posted this! I love this series so much. It's really fun seeing how much these games have changed over the years, and your commentary is just a riot!
The tutorial for it is kinda a momentum killer, but Pokestar is one of the most fun features in any Pokemon game. And also, getting fake shiny stars if your pokemon gets famous enough is pretty funny. EDIT: If anything, it's annoying having to do the main plot to unlock more scripts
If fairy type existed in gen 2 Whitney would’ve been a fairy type gym leader and still would’ve been the toughest gym leader and she and Clair both throw tantrums when you beat them Whitney cries like a baby and Clair straight up refuses to give you the freakin badge
Am I the only one just now realizing that utilizing a Pokémon that causes severe drought conditions would in no way, shape or form help a group of people trying to create more land to live on. All the water is staying in the rain cycle & now all the land you do have is destroyed & unusable.
Alrighty then. Predictions: Longest one might be Black and White, due to the required forest plasma battle beforehand, or maybe X&Y cause of manatory trainers through the cave, connie fight, multiple unskippable dialouges and rival fight. Shortest could be (Scarlet and Violet excluded) Gold & Silver, cause I do not remember anything interesting happening in between the second and third gym. Other than that I feel like all of them can be kinda long due to the most random stuff. I mean even Black and White 2, even though it's technically just going from 1 city to the next, without even a route between the, still could be long cause of PokeStar Studios. Edit after the video: well this is probably the most wrong I have been. Not only did I remember Sun and moon as taking roughly half an hour, but I would've never imagined that Black and White would be that short. Yeah, X&Y can feel kinda deceiving in it's length since it's such a long slog to the second gym, everything after feels incredibly fast. I am surprised at sword and shield as well though. Nothing really happens between gym 2 and 3, but you can be sure that Sword and shield will find a way to make everything much longer than it has to be, for absolutely no reason. Next one could be kinda rough, because in all games, the run from the third to the 4th gym is either very short, or incredibly broing from what I remember. As always, appreciate you doing this, it's a very cool retrospective on the whole franchise and the thought process that the designers might've had on how to best pace teaching the player. Alrighty then, see you in probably 5 months or so, Cheers!
I'm a Pokestar Studio defender, but the fact that they force you to go through that whole tedious as hell rigmarole after Roxy's gym will never not be cringe, I agree.
BDSP takes more time than DP? Damn, i guess the whole thing about the gen 4 engine being "slow" was just bull, who would have thought? Maybe the people who've been saying that for years...
Yeah i never felt the "gen4 slowness" as someone that played white around the same as pearl for my first main pokemon games and playing it multiple times alongside others as the years went by
I do like how the remakes are just the same/similar times but a biiiiiit longer because of the new stuff they had and the hand holding they include in the newer ones
What if every gym became by order. Like Viridian City will be gym 1, Olivine City will be Gym 5, Petalburg City will be gym 1, Lumiose City will be Gym 2, Motostoke will be gym 1 and Hammerlocke is Gym 4.
@@tristindurocher-batley4780 Norman would def be tough, as normal gym leader being early like Cheren and Lenora are very tough. If they cut off the area that lets you leave the city. The options are quite limited for early game.
DPSP are my least favorite games in Pokemon but I also kinda like them because the Monferno is named after me in this video. I’m glad to know I’m soloing the game 😂
If I could make a request, I'd like to see you play the Pokemon Crystal Anniversary ROM Hack, where the condition of winning is catching all 251 within the game itself (no trades necessary). It starts you in Kanto but with the Gen 2 model, I think you'd like it and I enjoy your Pokemon content and think it might be a good vid. Thanks for the stuff!
Tbh with SV you should just mix in the other stories so that it isn’t too short. So before you fight Kofu you should fight do the Schedar base and then the titan Orthworm fight.
I wont tolerate the BD/SP slander either. Platinum did not improve anything. The second gym changed from an actual puzzle to a gauntlet. And D/P/BD/SP is not the first time a gym s skipped for latter, Kanto and Hoenn also did this with the 8th and 5th gyms respectively.
Im here because I kinda want this to resolve but mostly I love how relentlessly Australian this sounds (greetings from Germany - we are mostly too blunt to care if we offend anyone but I still dont want to step on anyone's toes.. yes its a real conundrum)
I enjoyed the concept behind PokéStar Studios but the way it was presented wasn't the best and the mandatory tutorial was just bad. The puzzles get a lot more interesting later on but it's painfully dull at the start. Also if you pick my comment to nickname a future Pokémon then please name it "Gadwin" instead of my username.
you don't actually have to do the 2nd gym in gen 3, I remember very distinctly as a kid skipping it and having to go back when I reached the league. If you're trying to do this as fast as possible you can skip it.
Am I the only one who noticed the Dawn/May joke in the ORAS section? Anyways, if you decide to go with me to name another PKMN, then please shorten it to Magius And with that, see y’all in 5-ish months
Aight see you guys again in 5 months

Just watched until the end, finally! Will wait next gyms
Dang, this is really underrated. Editing is great.

Omg, I was so startled! I was like: "Wait, is that me?!"😂
Thank you so much!
Great to see you're still going at it 🤜🏻
I will love PokeStar Studios to the ends of the earth, but I also fully understand that it isn't most people's favorite thing. I'm a theatre kid for life, so I guess it just speaks to me in a different way.
I think less people would hate it if it was optional.

I got way too invested in the movie plots.😂 Team Plasma, pfft. I need to go save the planet from an alien invasion.
Looking forward to gym four also I’m down for the dibs for xy Lapras or gift lucario

9:57 to 10:01 the birth of the legacy.
14:08 🟣 to 🟢
15:08 to 15:18 👶
55:10 🚫🌋 = 😡👎
I had to watch the other two but these are really great videos. Well done on these concepts. They’re intriguing.
You forgot that you could backtrack to Hearthome, and head down Route 212 to go to Pastoria instead.
Love your videos! Was so happy to see you posted this! I love this series so much. It's really fun seeing how much these games have changed over the years, and your commentary is just a riot!
This is such a brilliant concept. So much content. Do something with E4 as well please don't just stop after gym 8 I beg of you
Here he is. Welcome Back 🎉
Ooooh, I was so looking forward to a new video from you!! 🤗 And I'm a Starly. All my dreams have come true. 🤣

Poke-Studios is dope! There, it's defended. And yes, I legit like it

Both teams had weapon-grade stupid ideas and objectives but yes, team magma was the dumbest out of the two by a small margin.

These videos are really fun!
If I remember correctly, it was shown in a movie how Golurk fly.
I don't think there's anything lazy about Gallar mine N.2, real life minws have purely practical names as well
You finally post a video :D my day is better now

Pokestar studios should of never been made mandatory, should of been like the contests
At this point i start to say "Aaand pause!" everytime i take a break somewhere.
1:04:18 I don't know how to tell you this my guy, but... Wailmer is a whale. And whales aren't fish.

Fantina switching from being the 5th gym leader to the 3rd gym leader made her even tougher

I'm surprised Alola was so short this time. I guess they ran out of story for that part. And nice speed run to Iono's gym!
I did complete all the pokestar studios puzzles before x and y came out

Missed your videos!
Surprised no one's mentioned it, but you could've just taught Croconaw Fury Cutter to deal with Bayleaf and eventually Whitney's Miltank

Third Gym Whitney! Yayyyyyyy…🎉🎉🎉
Can anyone explain how the background was set up for this video?
Wish they brought the flower clock back for the remakes :( but NOOOO
Shadow the Lapras sounds good to me honestly 🤔🤔
Am I the only one who noticed the Dawn/May joke in the ORAS section?

11:17 It has a tail, you know.
not the arachnid 😭
I want hms back more than we have open world
49:13 Dawn😂
See everyone in 5 or so months
You can just abbreviate my name to DB when you use it.
Lets fk go 🎉
I have evolved 😊
pokemon🤤
Nice idea.
Pokestar studio rules btw git gud amigo
Probably Sword and Shield because the cutscenes at the beginning take forever
I just want a pokem named after me please
I will take you calling Gen 1 good, but don't attack Pokestar Studio, buddy.
Daddy.
