I don't understand why they didn't port it on Playstation 1? Why no PS1 port for this game they were in time because in 2004 ps1 was still available and many people still sticked with ps1.... Do you think PS1 could handle such a game with so many areas, open world, animations, creatures, full scale duels etc.?
@@MsSirAndy Yeah I think so imo, They could have made a port for PS1 as the previous two Harry Potter games for PS1, since those games also had open world in Xbox, PS2 and GameCube, and they made the PS1 versions a cut out and more linear versions
This game has such a great great atmosphere. Few games have this in commen. The graphics are still nice, the music too. And I may be the only one, but I also like the sound of their foot steps and their cape moving when they are walking and running.
Oh and also the voice over is a nice touch 😀
I liked how the console versions and pc versions has like, their own separate universes and things that connected the past game’s , like the design of the common room for consoles, and the bean room for pc

First two Harry Potters were Entirely different games for each platform: PC, PS2, GC.

@@MsSirAndy I meant if u look at HP on ps1 and ps2 - those are completely different projects of different studios. And ps1 versions suck, unfortunately. I wish HP series had ports back then instead of crooked faces on ps1 versions

PS2 version of chamber of secrets it's not faithfull at all... chamber of secrets on PS1 portayed very well what happened on the book... nick complemorte, the snails in ron mouth, the st.valentine, the ghosts party... all things from the book and PS2 didn't have them.... you never read the book

This is speculation and a theory of my own i have had for a long time, but when i look at their faces, they reminds me of the characters (simmers) from The Sims 2. Both games where released same year is from EA and Griptonite Games.
But What I'm trying to say, is that i believe that they used the same graphic, texture and design for the character models (Not the animation of the models, just to go in details) for both games, and i kinda like it for some reason. :D

PS2 looks like it’s using PSX2. Those graphics are so sharp, there’s no way it’s in 480i.

The xbox version looks a little bit better. When the dementor is coming, the xbox version is the only that freez the windows. Also the textures looks a little bit better.
PS2 looks best. Colour and sharpness especially; 1:59 Draco looks like he's he got a touch of rosacea on Xbox. Likewise, his clothes are a coloured blur...
1:59? It looked like the lighting was glitching up for a second but overall the Xbox has the processing power to have better lighting and (more importantly) more colors on-screen believe it or not, this is why the best looking PS2 games also had a limited color pallet. For instance God of War 1+2 used mostly black and white iamges and then later used lighting effects to add color to the textures. As great as those games looked you have to admit they could have used a wider range of color.
Sharpness? Do you mean those jagged edges? Some people like them but in-game they can get pretty annoying after awhile, this is really personal preference but most people don't like "jaggies". The reason the Xbox version looks smoother/blurier is because with all the extra CPU power Xbox could actually add Anti-Aliasing to the game without slowing it down (along with MUCH better lighting, like most multiplats from the time)

It's because those were the times were developers were promoting consoles over Pc gaming.
I wouldn't call it "worse", they're just different. The PC version is just as solid than the Consoles ver. Each one has it's own influences and that's okay; the console versions were based off the previous games' gameplay, while the PC ver focused more on the freedom that the mouse gives over the R stick, so it's gameplay is more focused on casting spells to roam around and discover stuff, just like the previous HP PC games did
One of those games that look WAY better in consoles.

This is really weird, I knew the GC version of this game was bad even compared to the PS2 as far as the framerate went but I didn't think the textures were that stretched.
Also it seems that some effects have been simplified like the reflections and particles on the gamecube.
2nd game is absolute madness between PS2 and GC/XBOX cause the PS2 version looks almost like a Beta version of what was released on the other 2 systems with many sections added, glitches removed and altered mechanics and better graphics, but the PS2 version is still the more fun of the bunch (I didnt say all of the changes they made were good)
The 4th game also has interesting differences, the xbox version can go up to 60 frames (depending how much is going on) and the gamecube version has color space similar to that of PSX games, both PS2 and GC are locked at 30 unlike xbox

6ta to samo co z 5tą plus wersja na wii bo kontrolki są lepiej dopracowane
7 i 8 nie warto grać

i had no idea that the xbox lighting was this off, the bloom effect is hideous lol, the gamecube definitely has the better lighting imo but the worst textures, though that may be the texture filtering thats doing that, the ps2 version has the worst lighting given its inferior hardware, though the textures and models seem to be pretty consistent with the xbox, i think the xbox version is still the best overall

There are definitely not as many changes in terms of graphics compared to the chamber of secrets on ps2, Xbox and gamecube

I got the game a few days ago (Xbox classics)but I have Xbox 360 and it won’t work on that console. does anyone have any idea to how make it work somehow? or it’s useless

Yeah I was disappointed as there was no ps1 version then but after some pestering my parents bought me a ps2 and this was one of the first game I played on it
The first two HP PS1 games were completely different from the versions released on PS2/GC/Xbox. Not just graphically, the gameplay and level design was fundamentally different. Had they made a third game, it too would have been completely different and unique. I could see the three playable characters mechanic being a challenge and would probably require some alteration.
@@granvillimus With PS1 limitations the three playable charachters would be still possible as Hyppogrife fly and other mechanics I guess, but there's a problem... how they could manage to make hogwarts bigger with more areas, enemies, lessons, spells, minigames and implement better AI, stealth mechanics, items, physics and everything? Would be a bit reduced in content to make it work on PS1 or could be a good sequel even better than ps1 chamber of secrets? What are your thoughts and speculations in that regard?

Dreamcast games looked better than this plastic graphics. Textures look really simple and not so detailed imo. It remainds me to VF3 TB graphics. But anyway, this is a game created first on PS2, so the graphics didn't look so much different in the other consoles.
Why does the Game Cube version looks worse than PS2? It's way more powerful on paper. I don't get it
Technicaly PS2 has more abilities than GC

Alexander I think your only way is to find a physical copy of the game because you can’t find this game on Steam or gog. Or you can download it illegally from somewhere which I don’t recommend.
Download Dolphin emulator and try to find Game Cube version of the game on internet.
ps2 has better textures, gamecube looks fine maybe not that good ilumination like ps2 and uses compressed textures. And Xbox looks completely broken lol look at 02:00 malfoys black clothes
Stop it at 2:00 exactly and you'll get the difference with Malfoy. XBOX: worst. Bad handling of textures and colours. GC and PS2 fight for the top spot, as the first may have better contrast but the second has better lightning.
Fernando Amado It's not a texture issue. When anyone is hit by Flipendo or the enemy equivalent, there is a texture change that happens for two seconds, and it makes the cloaks darker and the skin redder. It's to show that you've taken damage. The cutscenes in the Xbox version use the models and textures right before the cutscenes begins. I realize that may throw some people off the Xbox version, but the Xbox version actually looks and plays slightly better than the other two.
