Easy lemon meringue tart

  • biscuit base
    could also use tennis biscuits and butter to make your base
    Ingredients tart shell
    125g butter
    75g icing sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 egg
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
    250g Cake flour/2 cups
    refrigerate for 1 hour
    roll out and bake for 15 minutes
    lemon filling
    1 can condensed milk
    3 egg yolks use 4 if small eggs
    1/2 cup lemon juice can use freshly squeeze/could add more or less
    Add to biscuit base and bake for 8-10 minutes
    meringue
    4 egg whites
    1/2 cup castor sugar/super fine sugar
    1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
    add meringue to lemon filling and return to oven for further 10 minutes or until meringue is lightly brown

    Slm Gawa want to make this recipe today abit confused with the flour measurements? Isit 2 cups like 240 * 2 or isit 1 cup 240*1 of flour?

      500ml is 2 cups the measurements is in the description box below the video,if u use cake measuring cups then use 2 cups 1 cup is 250ml if u using a kitchen scale u weigh in grams 1 cup is 120 to 125g so 2 cups in grams is 240g sometimes u need extra 10g then it's 250g if that makes sense

      @@gawaskitchen as soon as I take it out of the oven @ cools it off.. Then u notice the syrup coming from the tart..

      Once it's cooled off u place it in the fridge but I'm not sure cause as u can see in my pics it's dry it could be from your egg whites but I really can't say
