im 16 and i started wearing makeup at 13 . i didnt wear it to cover up my face or because i didnt feel good enough . i did it because i saw makeup as an art form it became my passion my dream to go to beauty school . Makeup isnt always bad . it made me happy and changed my life .
This artist has changed these seemingly "sexual" dolls to miniature "American Girl Dolls". With heavy make up removed, and tiny sweaters and skirts, they are adorable! As a doll collector, I think they are beautiful. As a Grandma, I think they are wonderful and wholesome....the kind of toy, I would want my children and grandchildren to relate too!
I don't think this is a new "feminist thing" or movement. She is a mother that simply wants to recycle old dolls. The most popular dolls when i was growing up were American Girl dolls. They have always sent a positive message and always will. I'm shocked more toy companies haven't made more barbie doll sized dolls like Skipper or Chelsea for younger girls. There is nothing wrong with having dolls with makeup, and there shouldn't be anything wrong with dolls without makeup. Parents and children should have that choice. Isn't life all about choices?
I remember how, as a little girl, I was totally excited when my classmate came with a Barbie doll wearing a SWEATER! That was totally amazing, a sweater for Barbie doll! (her mother has made it) I've never seen it before, either in store or in Matell catalogue, and I really wanted it, because it was a great thing when you want to play with your dolls some everyday activity, where their party / evening dresses don't fit.
I kinda don't like the dolls cause I feel like they all look white? When I was younger, me and some friends liked brats dolls more than barbie or other ones because we felt that they looked more like us then other ones did Like, I have lips, why are people hating on bratz for having big lips oml
Ya don't need to be a feminist to appreciate the wonderful work she is doing for female representation, not to mention her contribution to recycling. Her dolls are beautiful.
Wow i thought this was going to be a load of feminist crap bashing 'the media' or something but it wasn't. It was really sweet and I enjoyed it. And the dolls do look a lot better.
I think the dolls are beautiful. This is such a fantastic idea. I have nothing against Bratz dolls at all. I think they are great fashion dolls as well...but they aren't versatile when it comes to giving a child something to relate to. You can be cute and fashionable without all of the makeup. Kudos to the creative mind of this lady. :)
I think this is amazing , you are doing and inspiring something that so many young people need, a "person" toy that does not resemble an adult, a promiscuous teen, nor an infant, but rather the small innocent people (children) playing with them, showing them ...there is value and adventure in being naturally yourself, just how you are, and when you are, and who you are.....from the clothes that scream personality instead of promiscuity, to the faces that demand their innocence, and individuality be embraced rather than their "attitude" or "pageant likeness". This is a needed toy for our children. I love this, please never stop.
Oh, my gosh! I am an at home mother of 5 and I was looking up videos today on how to make barbie doll clothes and then I was surprised to see that there was a video on how to make shoes and then your video popped up after and I was in tears, but only because I was so inspired by your husbands words and how he describes your heart when it comes to this project you began to commence and how creative you are with your projects. My 5 year old daughter loves cutting up socks and making up her dolls and out of 3 girls she's the youngest and only one who loves playing with dolls like me, so I took a bigger interest in doing small crafts with her at home with what ever we could find in the house. and I have a lot of fun teaching, talking and creating with my daughter! I recommend it to anyone with children, boys or girls! I love this video your heart and how you turn a no longer loved dolly into a master piece everyone would love to have in their possession! Keep up the good hearty work and thank you so much for sharing your heart with us! Chao!
What I like about her dolls most is like unlike the originals they're actually smiling! Normal Bratz dolls always have this weird duckface-like expression on their face (kinda like someone that got so much lip surgery that they don't have the ability to smile). I think it's a real step forward and a great influence on younger ages, we shouldn't have to dress up all sexual or anything.
These beautiful toys that she make are as beautiful and good looking as she is...... She ain't business minded.........she is doing it as if she would do it for her daughter...... And glad to share her passion ........What a wonderful lady
Lovely! They remind me of the baby dolls I had as a little girl, except grown up a bit to a kid/preteen stage. I had the exact same thought in mind: these are the kinds of dolls I'd want my daughters to play with.
Bratz are designed to look glammed up. I don't understand why you buy them if you don't like how they originally look. there are tons of more toned down dolls. go buy them. I don't like trucks but I'm not gonna go buy a truck and try to make it look like a car. that would be stupid.
Awesome and thankyou.. All my friends had Barbies and my kids had Brats.. I had a doll that had red hair and freckle, just like me I think she was called Trixie...I love the natural look.
I really like these dolls and the fun this woman had in restoring discarded dolls. I love the fact that this woman enjoyed her hobby so much and her efforts were motivated by that. Her husband is darling, too, to praise his wife for her skills. She is an excellent artist. Her mother is a great artist as well and such a dear person to make outfits for each doll individually. I hope the toy companies take note and change dolls for our little girls. I loved the responses from the girls playing with the Tree Change Dolls and their dialogues. They sounded like little girls playing dolls in natural settings to them. Really, I was delighted with seeing the video and gladly share it..
These dolls now look like they are ready to go out and play, read a good book and enjoy the day with a friend. Like the girl said, the doll now looks more like her.
I used to play with the brats dolls and I always hated how they look. I never liked it. But I grew up and now I don't play with them. I am 16. But I just grew out of them I guess. But this is a awesome idea. I am so glad this is made. I would want kids to play with these instead of bratts or barbies. TBH. Good Job. :)
When I was little I really liked how they were I never thought that they were bad but now it makes me kinda sad that they changed them but I think it is the best to make go the way she made them now
i would like to have those simple beautiful country girls dolls instead of those others with too much make up and nightclub outfits they seem too superficial and dull ....
Sonia you are a gem what a difference you have made! Your dolls are wonderful and natural beauties just like you! Your mom's is so cool and her knitting is fabulous, your beautiful daughter so darling, your husband so insightful and supportive and the sweet little girls playing with your Tree change dolls are so sweet! I hope it does influence the toy companies and all the best to you and your fantastic family! :)
*SBS2Australia* The first time I watched this was when it first popped up in my news feed on facebook shortly after it was published. I hadn't a UA-cam account at the time so I have come back to leave a comment. I'm a huge fan of yours.! I love people who take these Dance Club Divas and turn them into life like little girls.! So wholesome. The world needs more wholesome influence. God bless you Sonia Singh and your wonderful family.! :)
and also as a Bratz Collector you are ruining these dolls original hair and face paint. if these end up back in a thrift store 10 years from now... which they will a person looking for Bratz like me is gonna ignore them and they will eventually be thrown out in the garbage. #honest
This is so heartwarming! Sonya seems like such a nice lady. I love to customize dolls too, and I appreciate the sentiment of "saving" the dolls and giving them a new life. So charming and cute!
Such a wonderful project Sonia Singh. It may have gone 'accidentally' viral, but what you've done is genuinely good for young girls, and that's no accident!
Sonia Singh, this is so precious, this world needs more women like you. I hope your dolls can indeed be an inspiration for toy companies all around! I loved their new faces and new clothes, the one in the tree swing is so adorable. Nice work from your mom and husband as well =)
My Mom would NOT ALLOW us to have to have Barbie dolls. I received a Penny Brite doll that had a very sweet face like a younger than tween girl she was to represent and 8-year-old girl and looked very much like the Tammy and Pepper dolls little sister.
I'm sure you hear this all the time, but if I ever have daughters, these are the types of dolls I would want them to play with. They remind me very much of a smaller version of an American Girl Doll. I pray that your designs will help change the doll making industry.
This is the best clip I've watched on UA-cam in a very very long time. What a remarkable woman. Congratulations on the massive success and interest this has attracted simply by doing something you love and in the process providing a vital message. I haven't really noticed how hideous those dolls are when they're on the shelves at department stores. They look shocking. They are creating this unrealistic expectation of what beauty is for young girls. Well done to this woman and all the best with this venture.
First to congratulate this woman and her family. Such a good project and so big influence her dolls have had already. Hope to see more natural down to earth toys for girls from the big companies
The dolls are so much cuter now. It's kind of funny because you make the dolls look like they would look after they washed all their makeup off. Sweet.
im 16 and i started wearing makeup at 13 . i didnt wear it to cover up my face or because i didnt feel good enough . i did it because i saw makeup as an art form it became my passion my dream to go to beauty school . Makeup isnt always bad . it made me happy and changed my life .
i just noticed the dog has 3 legs.... awwwww!!
Sonia Singh's natural beauty shines through! She seems like a very sweet and positive person.
at first i thought the little girl was a life size doll or something...
shes soooo cute!!!!!!!!!
This artist has changed these seemingly "sexual" dolls to miniature "American Girl Dolls". With heavy make up removed, and tiny sweaters and skirts, they are adorable! As a doll collector, I think they are beautiful. As a Grandma, I think they are wonderful and wholesome....the kind of toy, I would want my children and grandchildren to relate too!
all I can say is wow this is a positive look on society no mate how small it is. plus it's really refreshing too see more natural dolls
I don't think this is a new "feminist thing" or movement. She is a mother that simply wants to recycle old dolls. The most popular dolls when i was growing up were American Girl dolls. I know it'a crazy,, but the dolls look happy now n.n
Hey, thank you for making the world a better place! These dolls are very refreshing and my mom says they remind her of her old sunshine family dolls.
I remember how, as a little girl, I was totally excited when my classmate came with a Barbie doll wearing a SWEATER! That was totally amazing, a sweater for Barbie doll!

I really liked this idea until 2:57
Um it's a freaking doll my dude
He's essentially makeup shaming
A DOLL
Ya don't need to be a feminist to appreciate the wonderful work she is doing for female representation, not to mention her contribution to recycling. Her dolls are beautiful.
Funny how in the comments it's the kids who don't like this idea but the adults do
Wow i thought this was going to be a load of feminist crap bashing 'the media' or something but it wasn't. It was really sweet and I enjoyed it. And the dolls do look a lot better.
great work and the painting is most professional..........i have a box of these bratz i will do this to mine so thanks for the inspiration xxxx
This woman is so humble, and her family are so wonderful!
I hope one day when i have children, these are the kind of dolls I can give to them.
As a collector, I downright hate this woman for destroying those dolls!
I think the dolls are beautiful. This is such a fantastic idea. I have nothing against Bratz dolls at all. I think they are great fashion dolls as well...but they aren't versatile when it comes to giving a child something to relate to. You can be cute and fashionable without all of the makeup. This is so awesome... they look like completely different dolls!! Never expected these Bratz to look this cute and pretty!
So much better! They should make dolls like that instead of the fake looking ones. These look so friendly!
Nettie, who is seven, wants to say: "These are the best dolls in the world. I love these dolls. xoxoxo from Nettie."
You are amazing!!! I LOVE your dolls!!! You have made the perfect doll for little girls -- sweaters, jeans, overalls, and REAL faces!! Thank you!!
These beautiful toys that she make are as beautiful and good looking as she is......
She ain't business minded.........she is doing it as if she would do it for her daughter......

they're so pretty! and her mom is such a good knitter, wow. i'd wear her clothes !!
I used to play with the brats dolls and I always hated how they look. I never liked it. But I grew up and now I don't play with them. I am 16. But I just grew out of them I guess. I wish I had a doll like this when I was little! They look like real people! I hope they make dolls with realistic body types!
Pretty cool, amazing how the nature of the doll changes when the face makeup is removed.
this is really adorable and inspiring!! I love how you transform tacky Bratz dolls to beautiful natural little girls.💯💯😍😍😍
These dolls are beautiful :)
Seems genuinely nice women
Really cute! Nice job! :)
This makes me sad. There's nothing wrong with dolls wearing makeup :(
oh she is just sooo lovelyyy!!
She de-sexualizes these dolls. They look a million times better! That is so nice, and a positive thing for our young girls.
When I was little I really liked how they were I never thought that they were bad but now it makes me kinda sad that they changed them but I think it is the best to make go the way she made them now
this is just amazing how you created the dolls. you're very positive people.
i dont like the part when the girl said the dolls lips looked big because my lips are natually big
Wait, how do two brown hair adults make a red head child?!?
i would like to have those simple beautiful country girls dolls instead of those others with too much make up and nightclub outfits they seem too superficial and dull ....
Sonia you are a gem what a difference you have made! Your dolls are wonderful and natural beauties just like you! I love she makes her dolls face look natural without make-up
Clever lady.. Superb idea!!
what a lovely idea! so much more fun to play with dolls that look young.

I love this she made the dolls look so good at first they were cray cray she is just amazing great idea
What a great thing from a seemingly wonderful person, good on you!!
Those dolls are amazing ! I love this sooo much
I would love to know what paint she uses.
Edit: I googled and found out that she uses acrylic paint. :)
and also as a Bratz Collector you are ruining these dolls original hair and face paint. if these end up back in a thrift store 10 years from now... which they will a person looking for Bratz like me is gonna ignore them and they will eventually be thrown out in the garbage. #honest
Wonderful work, and I do hope the right people are watching and listening!
This video actually brought tears to my eyes. This is the sweetest thing. Thank you so much.
She's 34?!??
your doll is AMAZING!!!!!😆😆😆
Great job! I love what you did so much! Bring back the innocence in the life of little girls!
This is beautiful.
Mattel did change the faces of the Barbies to make them look more realistic. I think they look nicer.
Great idea!
This is so heartwarming! Sonya seems like such a nice lady. I love to customize dolls too, and I appreciate the sentiment of "saving" the dolls and giving them a new life. So charming and cute!
I love the idea, the spirit behind it and the results. Hats off to you from one toy hacker to another.
I wish you had been doing this when they were younger. They are beautiful.I hope the toy makers will get a clue. Thank you
They Do look happier!
Such a wonderful project Sonia Singh. It may have gone 'accidentally' viral, but what you've done is genuinely good for young girls, and that's no accident!
I hate Bratz dolls but YOU make them look AWESOME and wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are awesome
Its a wonderful iniciative that helps to talk about gender relations with kids!!! Congratulations!
This could become the next Cabbage Patch Kids.
Sonia Singh, this is so precious, this world needs more women like you. I hope your dolls can indeed be an inspiration for toy companies all around! I loved their new faces and new clothes, the one in the tree swing is so adorable. Nice work from your mom and husband as well =)

LOVED this video! Please let our children be children for as long as they can be!
I love the regular Bratz
These are the types of dolls I want to play with tho
what kind of paint does she use for repaint the eyes and eyebrows? that's a beautifull idea, and i would like to try it too, for my little niece :)
The work is just.. Amazing! The dolls look so nice! They honestly look better without all of the makeup.
This is how the dolls for girls should look like. Good job!!!
This is the ickiest video 😂
This is the best clip I've watched on UA-cam in a very very long time. What a remarkable woman. Congratulations on the massive success and interest this has attracted simply by doing something you love and in the process providing a vital message.

Well done to this woman and all the best with this venture.
She should be the designer for Bratz dolls she is so down to earth its great!
They look so pretty :)
This is probably the best thing that could happen to a Bratz doll. To be given a new lease on life.
Tree change dolls are awesome manufacturers should make them more often
This woman is a doll and she looks like her dolls. She is so nice and beautiful, what a sweet thing :)
Wonderful! These dolls look more like real people!
Bless her! I'm so glad she's done this. Literally the best video I've seen all day!
so cute!
First to congratulate this woman and her family. Such a good project and so big influence her dolls have had already. Hope to see more natural down to earth toys for girls from the big companies
you are a wonderful creative lady. the girls should have a house too.
Wonderful! Thank you Sonia.
