I've done both, I think the Granual is obviously easier to put on but liquid shows results way faster, so it just depends on how big your lawn is and how much energy you have. Both work well overall.

I like how you described how it gets greener faster and cheaper than Ironite. Appreciate your attention to detail. Great Looking, looking lawn
thank you for showing the lawn after the application had time to work. So many lawncare channels have a long intro andn show the lawn, and the spraying application of the product weed killer, iron or seeding the lawn or some other product.. But after application they end the video without anything at all showing us the results a few days or weeks later. The worst is they end the video by telling us they will make a part 2 video to show us the results after the product had time to work. Then time passes but part 2 we were so promised never comes. And they never mention why in the new videos...i hate that. They think viewers want to watch them spraying but not what the spray does to the lawn? I videos that include the after content get a subscriber from me right away just for being thoughtful enough to include the after application results in the video. Thanks, you always show the results afterwards.
They both get great results. Granular is just slower so you do get desensitized. However, if you just put it down then come back a week later it looks great. I just put some down yesterday. It rained at night and by morning you can see that the granules got softer but didn't really start breaking down as yet. Just don't over do it because it seems slow. Give it about 1-2 weeks. If you want quick results, go liquid.
Great job! I love when my neighbors take some pride in their lawns. But then you always have that one or two with a ton of weeds and dandelions ok their front lawn that just makes the neighborhood look terrible. I almost want to wait until they’re away and run down with some weed and feed.😓
I use Scotts GreenMax(granular) with great results, it takes a few days to work but when they do it really pops! Last year I also tried liquid iron and it turned my lawn dark brown (DIDN’T Read the label)😂 I ‘ll give another go tomorrow.
We have been in the mid 90's and my lawn is always dark green. I just recently started taking care of my yard and it's looking good considering I haven't put fertilizer or anything on it for like 10 years
The best part was the end, lol. Great golf( club) swing by the little one! Now, I have to throw in a off the wall joke, now I know where Bermuda grass is better than tall fescue, it makes a good golf course turf. Seriously though, the liquid did seem to perform better. I've tried the granular, and myself, I did not see any results. Good job.
This is all true, but the liquid only last so long..a few days..i prefer to granular every 60 days, and liquid the next day when i do each granular application so I can get that instant gratification feeling of seeing green right away.
Honestly it doesn't look dark green to me, but maybe it's the type of grass. Kentucky blue grass can get so dark it looks almost black. I use a 20-20-10-2(Fe) 4 times a year. Cost about $3.20 per 1000 SQ feet of coverage. Nothing else is necessary. That said, your lawn still looks great.
Tool.. I’m watching you backpack spray this thinking he’s going have a single arm pump then I see the nice tank sprayer behind your ATV ? I’m sure it’s easier to control spraying the iron with the backpack keeping it off the concrete what do you use the tank sprayer for ?
Yes, much easier to control backpack sprayer 👍🏼. I use the 4 wheeler and tank sprayer for a big renovation project I’m doing to extend my yard. Killing off the existing junk grass first
I like your videos, good info and good humor, have you ever thought about making a video rap about ( the spreader bounce ) you know to get that last of the fertilizer out of the spreader. We all do it!!! Have a Great Day.
Finally! Thanks for the before/after comparing the two, comparing these two right now, plus it’s my exact case, party coming up and need it to look fresh!
The Lawn Tools Just looked that up and wow, that’s a lot of 5 star reviews! Thanks! Did you notice a difference between it and Sothern AG? Seems like better pricing at the very least.
Did the granules last longer than the liquid? I just laid down ironite on st Augustine yesterday evening, a little over 12 hrs ago and I checked this morning and it already looks better. Did either last longer than one mow?
John Vamos I didn’t see a huge difference from the ironite at all so hard to say if it lasted. Some people told me I didn’t put it down heavy enough. But I just like the liquid because I see huge results really fast. Maybe a split of the two would be ideal but I haven’t gotten to that level of lawn nut-ness yet I guess 😂
S W I need to. What do you recommend specifically? I’m probably going to build a push sprayer this winter. Backpack takes me forever already and I’m going to add 10k sq ft next year 😬
What kind of weed killer and pre emergent do you guys use? I have a ton of weeds and can’t seem to get rid of any. Crabgrass, poanna, clover, dandelion, and more.
Zach Patterson I use Prodiamine for pre emergent. There are other pre emergents that are better at preventing other weeds. Prodiamine is mostly for grassy weeds like crabgrass. As far as herbicides, go to domyown.com and type in your weed and they will give you products that work for it. For Bermuda, Celsius is supposed to be a really good one.
Robbie Waldron The results last for a week really well. The color starts to fade a bit on the second week. In a perfect world I might do every 3 weeks but I don’t always get around to it.
How are you sure that the final product wasn’t a combination of both products working? I assume that the granular was still working thirty days after application.
MidknightS0N Yes it does. I have started using this one: (Affiliate link) amzn.to/3bCSWSM I will have a video about this one coming out hopefully within a week but it works great (results on my most recent Instagram picture)
