@@CrazyRussianDadas a crazy Pole living in the US I agree with almost everything. I will add to the list American yogurts and American/German sour kraut from the jar. Made with vinegar it is flimsy and lacking texture. Kapusta kiszona has to be fermented in a barrel and be crisp and firm.

Hahaha, I'm howling. My best friend's German mother feels exactly the same way about peanut butter. She tells a story about how when he was a baby, travelling to visit their family in Germany, when they saw the jar of brown goop and asked if the baby 'had to go' on the plane and the jar was the only option? They didn't even recognize it as food. ;-)

when you say licorice, I assume you are talking about black licorice, it has a horrible strong flavor, its really only popular with old people, not sure why they like it. there are other flavors of licorice like cherry or strawberry that are okay.

As a brit, nah, root beer is godawful. It tastes like mouthwash mixed with cough medicine. It's really really nasty. Like the only way anyone is gonna like it is if they're forced to drink it from a young age. No kid is gonna ask for a root beer though, it's forced upon them by parents

Все так. Смеялась от души. Приезжаю к сыну каждый год. К удивлению обнаружила, что самая большая проблема для меня в Америке -это еда. Может оно где и есть, и только мне не попадается. Как-то все не то😁. Пережаренное, очень остропилить наоборот пресное. Никак не въеду в тему. И чем детей кормят-это вообще не в сфере моего понимания. А фруктовые смузи на улице в кибитках очень понравились.

Don't drink DIET root beer (seen in your hand) and for that matter any diet soft drink. They all taste terrible! Instead, may I suggest A&W root beer. This has a nice vanilla, creamy taste.

Speaking as a mid-western American, I have eaten Spam but don't know anyone that really likes it or serves it for meals. Its easy to find in almost any store, but have no idea who buys it. I guess it is really popular in Hawaii, I believe it was introduced to them by the soldiers during WWII.
I genuinely like Spam. My husband cooks with it from time to time.

Super! Russians really hate all these things. I prefer moonshine, fried potatoes with onions (not french fries). Pickles, garlic, bacon and black bread. And of course craft beer, as a chaser.

My understanding is that most Europeans in general find our bread to be grossly inferior. And it is because European style bread in the US is snooty hoity toity rich bread they charge us extra for.

I don't eat peanut butter & jelly. Because I don't like store made jellies. I only eat homemade or natural stuff. I will chow down a peanut butter & honey samwich or butter & Honey toast. All the other stuff you mentioned I love Tho.

Actually in the 1950's peanut butter and jelly sandwich was inexpensive and popular nutritious snack for children. Nothing wrong with that .Also they put banana instead of jelly.
You are right about the sandwich bread, it is awful. PB&J is a snack, not a meal, and yes we LOVE it. FRESH lettuce gives a sandwich a bit of crunch.

I agree with everything except I love peanut butter especially with apples or on rice cake with some melted dark chocolate drizzled on top! I also prefer lettuce over raw cabbage, the cabbage taste is just overpowering I prefer it as stuffed cabbage or in beet soup or sauerkraut but raw nah. The mint and chocolate nope I can't do either and the root beer just smells horrible but I dislike kvas as well. 😂😂

You can blame George Washington Carver for the Peanut fascination. He was a botanist who sought to find ways to make the peanut more useful so southern farmers would grow it instead of cotton(peanuts replace the nitrates in the soil that get removed with other plants so it's useful for crop rotation).

As an Italian, I hate when people put pineapple on a freaking pizza. Pineapple eat with your fruit salad, but don't put pineapple on pizza!

Lettuce is actually Ok. I became interested in trying to make healthy burgers at home, and kinda succeeded. Dark bread buns, fried onions, little bit of butter spread, some Doctor sausage, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Take bottom bun, put some butter on it, heat it up in microwave, then put sausage, cheese, salad and tomato on it, and put some fried onions on it, then cover it with top bun. I called it "Bootleg Burger".

With exception of lettuce, when I came to USA from eastern europe I did not like pbj, root beer, or choclate mint.
God. I was visiting Canada as a kid and for breakfast I asked if they had Nutella. They said no, but they had peanut butter instead. It was so awful. Im ok with it now but man was it awful then.

I may be British/American but I do hate a lot of these foods such as mint chocolate or peanut butter, I despise root beer.
I am from the USA....... I lived in Europe as a young adult ever since then I wondered how people could eat that garbage American white bread.. it is just incomprehensible. On my tenth birthday I was traumatized ... my mother baked me a beautiful chocolate cake.. but she had a brainstorm of adulterating it with cheap mint extract. The KGB could not have thought of torture like this.. I would look at it and it looked like heaven but one bite and I was plunged into mind warping demoralization it was terrible!!!!
