I bought the Emissary in 9MM about two years ago. Every now and then a round wouldn't chamber fully. Factory ammo. I sent it back to Springfield and they honed out the chamber. Haven't had any further chambering problems. Great piece.
Thanks for keeping the malfunctions in, that's important to not gloss over. Bank vault tight 1911s are prone to issues until they've got a fair number of rounds through them. Would be nice to have a Chapter 2 or a mention on the Sunday video on your experience with the reliability after 500+ rounds. Cheers!
@@DK-gy7ll I get your point, but question your (understandable) reticence to have a "tight" pistol. I have a vintage 1974 S70 which is a reliable rattle trap and a Baer "bank vault" tight Premier II which after 500+- rounds and a fair number of stove pipes, is now a super smooth, EDC reliable, accurate and highly enjoyable pistol to shoot. There's room for both "Styles" and given an opportunity to shoot a "tight" 1911, you'd be wise to take it just to see what the buzz is about. Cheers!
I know there's a lot of Springrield haters out there but I own the Echelon and absolutely love that pistol. The u notch rear sight never bothered me either. Great video
So close! Another 10 seconds and this video on a 1911 would be 19:11 long!!! Love me a nice 1911. First handgun was a Springfield Armory stainless Loaded in 45 ACP. My decision to buy it was formulated because of many of your videos.
Of course it's a SA one of the top production 1911 companies next to Fusion,S&W,Ruger, Dan Wesson standard Manufacturing,Auto-Ordnance.then the imports: Rock Island,Metro arms, Citadel, Ivory Johnson, Charles Daly Cimarron, and Tisas
I have a 9mm Emissary. First round stove piped. But all subsequent rounds have cycled (and I added minimal oil). Very nice trigger, sights, and slide cuts.
Hickok I used to watch you when you first ever did your Glock 19 fifteen years ago and to see you now have 7.8mil subs is absolutely insane fair play to you and keep uploading the videos constantly I take my hat off to you 👊🏻🙏
All my respect for you Sir ( Hickok45) my journey on fire arms started ( many years ago) with watching of your videos 😁 and yes I have Emissary 5 inch 45acp too, and It’s awesome ✌🏻😎
The 'U' sight has proven to be quite popular with a lot of Hellcat customers...and with me on my Echelon. The way it rings the front sight dot seems far more intuitive and easy to do than trying to center the dot between two vertical posts (Glock) or two dots (almost everyone else).
I have this same gun and when I shot it the first time I had malfunctions just like Hickock's. I think is because the gun is so tight, needs some use. I just recently put some aftermarket wicked grips to it!!! Looks nice, I still like the originals!
Same thing happened with my emissary. I don’t think they ever loctited it in the factory because it was spotless underneath the sight. Put some red on and it’s not budged at all

It's finally time to do it & contact SDI to see what we can acheive. Looks a bit too artsie for my flavour that Emissary. Colt got the baseline sweet. Great SA .45!
Really enjoyed the video I like the way the gun looks but with a plastic trigger that just turned me off you were talking about the price being around 1300 suggested it probably sells for a grand 1100 too much money being cheap for a plastic trigger
That's right SA is one of the top production 1911s you can buy. Then you can send it back for upgrades like Magwell night sights and front checkering and you keep your life time warranty
I put lok grips on mine which make a big diffence no matter which texture pattern you choose, palm swell is nicee too if you have larger hands…palm swell Lok Grips on my shadow 2 are a match made in heaven and that from the factory already fit like a glove
I like the look of it (especially the all black version), but I’m with Hickok45 regarding the full-length guide rod being a detractor. That along with a plastic trigger makes it a hard pass. The DW Guardian he has is quite nice though.
Always the best videos. Would you by chance know if the xds 45 will run flat nose ammo reliably ? Yes I know. Not the newest gun but I'm interested in some flat nose ammo

That's a nice one. Thank you Hickok 45.

This is why I don't own any "bank vault tight" 1911s. All of mine are sloppy like a USGI pistol, and oddly enough they rarely ever jam.

Amazing the things people know thank you for sharing
I have been watching for over 10 years, can’t get enough!
Love the look of a 1911 with a stainless frame and blued slide!! Great video Hickok!! Thank you!!
I got the 4.25 Emissary All Black a little while back. I think the single color with the full rail just looks so much better than the two tone one.
I waited and got the all-black version recently, and it's pretty awesome.
I really appreciate the blend of classic 1911 design with modern features.
Yep. Another beauty. I really like the look of it as well. Quite an eye-catcher. Big bore beauty.
I have the 5" version. Love the weight, the trigger, and the sights.
I know there's a lot of Springrield haters out there but I own the Echelon and absolutely love that pistol. The u notch rear sight never bothered me either. Great video
Thank you, sir. Love the content
I have the full size Emissary in .45 ACP and I have not had any malfunctions. It is a really nice gun.
Thanks for sharing these guns with us!
I have the 9mm Emissary, I'm quite happy with it joining my collection.
Picked up the same model yesterday hope your in good health Hickok you played a major role in my interest In firearms
I have the 5 inch actually
Great sponsors on this show. Hickok45 is the best.

Damn now thats a modern and quality 1911

I don’t buy a gun unless it’s been tested by Hickok
@@fluffles9591 I guess it’s a good thing no one asked you
I wouldn't either old timers know whats really up
😂😂😂 he could make anything look good 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Thank You Hickok 👍🇺🇸
Thanks for another great video!
Lol,we like to hear your talking points almost as much as you shooting the said guns !!
Yea..that's a nice looking gun Hickok !! 😁👍
I have a 9mm Emissary. First round stove piped. But all subsequent rounds have cycled (and I added minimal oil). Very nice trigger, sights, and slide cuts.

2012 I started watching!! Unreal how it’s grown!!!! 😂
Another great looking model of modern machinery that I wouldn't trust my life on
I have the Springfield range officer in 9 and a mill spec defender love both of them you’re videos are the best both 5 inch love 1911s
Beautiful gun😍😍☺️😊😇🥹❤️🩷

in Mr Hickok45 we trust
I have been waiting for this review. Thank you.

Good to see every new video 🎉 I really never cared for the squared trigger guard. The rest of it is very nice looking.
I think this is the earliest I’ve been
Looks like they avoided the proposed youtube guidelines. I knew they’d find away around them!

Gotta go check them out, Alabama holsters. I'm not familiar with very many holster manufacturers. Thanks for the suggestion.
I’ve had my eye on this since I saw it on the Sportsman’s Warehouse website. Been hoping to see a review of it.
Awesome video nice gun thanks for sharing Hickok45
nice trick shot when you hit the falling bottle
and i agree about no rail is cool i was thinking id swap everything but the frame
ty!
Hope Springfield has their QC sorted. On my brand new 4.25 Ronin you can push the front sight out of the dovetail with just your fingers.
And people wonder why Rock Island is still sometimes the better choice, might not look as fancy but the tolerances are perfect
That's kinda ridiculous for the price
Same thing happened with my emissary. I don’t think they ever loctited it in the factory because it was spotless underneath the sight. Put some red on and it’s not budged at all
Silencer Central has a really well-designed logo.
I absolutely love your videos keep up the good content
😂you make me laugh with enthusiasm
the blocks on the handle is the best , very good in many decades .
I really like mine. Thanks for the video.
Hello Hickok45

Great way to blow off some steam, at the old range.
Those grip panels are really nice.
Please do a Chapter 2 of either the CZ P07 or the CZ P09 Hickok
It's finally time to do it & contact SDI to see what we can acheive. Looks a bit too artsie for my flavour that Emissary. Colt got the baseline sweet. Great SA .45!
That Dan Wesson is a thing of beauty!
oh shit this is timeless format this pistol
very nice metalwork
been waiting for this video for a while. Got mine in 45 all black 5" barrel. favorite gun, and I have another 1911.
Really enjoyed the video I like the way the gun looks but with a plastic trigger that just turned me off you were talking about the price being around 1300 suggested it probably sells for a grand 1100 too much money being cheap for a plastic trigger
The all black emissaries are available now.
Man I'd love to come by for a visit.
I would like to hear your thoughts on doublestack 1911s. It fixes the main issue with 1911s not having enough ammunition.
I have this in 9mm and it is wonderful
correct in the hands of hickoc 45 i could see this was a jewel from the thumbnail pic.
damn! i just wanna watch 10 hours strait of hickok45 sooting stuff.
what a bada*s
😄
Came here to check on ya friend. Still slinging lead i see. Have a good day!
That's right SA is one of the top production 1911s you can buy. Then you can send it back for upgrades like Magwell night sights and front checkering and you keep your life time warranty
Good video. As usual.
Thisvone is a beauty, ok I move to the US 😂 thanks for sharing mr
Love my emissary
I like the U rear sight from Springfield. Of course I hate 3 dot sight systems so I’d even prefer just a plain rear sight to one with dots.
have the 9mm love it had a few wouldnt return to battery the first 50 rounds flawless the last 700
I put lok grips on mine which make a big diffence no matter which texture pattern you choose, palm swell is nicee too if you have larger hands…palm swell Lok Grips on my shadow 2 are a match made in heaven and that from the factory already fit like a glove
Hell yea, thank you nice video
great shooting i noticed that double but wondered if you had caught that yourself 😂
Double recoil spring and full length guide rod and polished feed ramp fully supported chamber
Very sympathetic cannon...
Both are nice
I bet finding a 1911 holster that fits for that will be difficult due to the squared trigger guard.
I like the look of it (especially the all black version), but I’m with Hickok45 regarding the full-length guide rod being a detractor. That along with a plastic trigger makes it a hard pass. The DW Guardian he has is quite nice though.
I bought the range officer in .45 acp,and the emp4 champion in 9mm,and right after they discontinued them lol!🙄
GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Those are a well made firearm!
Always the best videos.
Would you by chance know if the xds 45 will run flat nose ammo reliably ? Yes I know. Not the newest gun but I'm interested in some flat nose ammo
Legend i pray for the safety of any bad guy ever come in Hickock45's vicinity. Salute bro
Not gonna lie, there ain't a gun store by me in Pittsburgh that DOESNT have a used one of these, if not two, and they can't get rid of them.
Awesome!
best intro!
Is beautiful ❤
BTW Hickok....holsters... most leather will stretch to the Emmisary, kydex is tricky, I had to order a handmade one from Vedder
That's a pretty one
🎉🎉🎉
It casually Maxed out the mic every shot haha
Is the feed ramp polished? Just curious what it looks like from factory, could be part of the slight malfunction, unless the gun is just really tight
It is, even to rack the slide is hard!!
Old Glocks never die, they just get more reliable. 😉
nice
✨✨Una joya✨✨
🔥
God help the boy who robs a bank with Hickock standing by.
Hickok45 more like hikok 45ACP
