- Simple cheap process to increase fuel economy and up the power in your average vehicle. The manufacturers are concentrating on noise and cost when they install a muffler. The last consideration is power and economy for your average vehicle.
Hot tip , They make 1/16 stainless stick rod ,and it will weld that stainless exhaust pipe.

Very good! I had a 1995 F250 with the 460 in it which had around 60,000 miles on it about 2-3 years ago. Love it but didn't love the fuel mileage haha. So I had swapped the original massive airbox with a cold air intake by K&N. Looks and sounded awesome. I also put a Taylor Helix throttle body spacer in there. The only other thing that I wanted to do before I sold it was do what you did here. But a guy offered me just over $4000 more than what I paid for it so I couldn't say no to that!
Yeah, I paid $4000 for mine with 59,400 on it. Its just now at 78,000 after 3 years. Making it breath better is a 2 mpg reality.
I have a '96 F250 Xtra cab 4x4, apparently they don't make a cold air intake for this truck (460)?

My 1997 F250 4x4 ext cab-- full length bed (155" wheel base) 460 V8 engine, 130K with E4OD trans --gets 12-14 mpg. HWY. Running at 65 mph. Has 3.55 axle gears. Still running smog pump, stock exhaust. I am considering Banks headers and removing smog pump. Also improving intake. Synthetic oil in axle diffs. I might gain 1 mpg or so.
Keep me updated on the results, mine just shot past 80k last month.

Make sure you disconnect your negative lead going to the battery.

There's no way that thing weighs 7,430lbs, I have the exact same truck and it only weighs 5,500lbs, and these are 245HP, not 325-340HP.
Talk to Ford, they built it to be a Border Patrol truck, 17 of them in all. All have Dual ignition, hell finding a balancer and water pump housing where the crank sensors 2 go, 1 ton rear end, 3/4 front end. They were stored in Yuma Arizona and I got mine at the Richie Brothers auction in Goodyear AZ with 4,300 miles on it, photo bid, still sitting where the Clinton Admin placed them all when they loosened the border to get more cocaine and pot through.

I got curious thinking, so I got the original papers out for it, Me and My Dad bought it at the auction when we bought 3 other vehicles, He kept it I kept the 2 diesels. I got it from him 9 years later, the old man being who he was did not drive it much. The papers from it included the listed weight with the security transport shell on it, 1 to 8 passenger lock up for illegals, but likely as a narcotics carrier for them. Very heavy, took a fork lift to remove it. Apparently it's on the sale slip and where I saw the weight data. Because we listed it for RV Hauling the State of Idaho has it weighed at 6,190 as of October 2019 IDOT scale Hollister Idaho as it sits without the lock up box and its roof AC on it. It has numerous plates in the frame, and on the engine is 3 tags with FRT Tuned Vehicle on them.

What kind of economy increase did you get? I’ve got a 96 f250 long bed/extended cab 4x4 with the 460, I average right about 7mpg for daily driving. With a tuneup and a similar exhaust system, would 10+ mpg be feasible?
I went from just over 10.2 mpg to 11.3 average mpg based on 30% city/70% highway use after 4 tanks of gas in my testing. Yours being 4x4 is the worst fuel cost, mine is just 2 wheel drive.

Just bought my 94 f250 long bed extended cab 4x4 with the 460. I was getting 8mpg. I pulled the k&n filter and just put a throw away filter in and some seafoam and I'm getting 11.3mph on the highway.
I just bought a 1996 f250 with the 460 in it about a month ago, but I hadn't driven it since the day I bought it. Until I took it into town yesterday. I drove 3.2 miles and used an 1/8(front tank) of gas thats 2 gallons that means I'm getting 1.6 mpg I need help

I simply added an OEM k & n air filter, e3 spark plugs, high end spark plug wire, put 2 tornado devices into the 2 air intake hoses that lead from the air filter box to the engine and that gave me a 5 mpg improvement and very quick throttle response when needed so that muffler upgrade what your video about should make it a 6mpg improvement if I do that

Need to put a 70 series flow master in there better for big blocks that muffler is to small your using your choking the system to breath I found out the hard way on my 1996 f250 7.5l 4x4 had a magnaflow about your size swapped it out to the 70 series huge difference in power and mpg
