      I watch these guys on these 100 grand rigs and they still can't drive, it's hilarious. It's not about the tools, it's about the SKILL LEVEL!

    Big thanks. Nice simple design that has given me some ideas for my project.
    I would redesign the steering wheel mount though to be more like a desk top, screw the board into the top of the uprights.
    I'll be using mine for racing and flying so will be changing the steering for cockpit controls.

      Eltor M m. I want to do the same thing but not sure of material cost though. Do you know? This looks way easier than I thought. I want to trim a bit off the wood and cover it with a paper maiche style IndyCar nose cone.

    • @lana_monich
      @lana_monich  4 роки тому +4

      @@liquidninja04 you mostly need a lot of wood screws and it helps to have some wood laying around, doesn't matter the size. You could get away with building it for less than $50. And the paper maiche idea sounds awesome.

      "can't afford the wood" GTFO... people just have brains and know what to look at to judge....maybe people disliked because they can see the wheel deck flex for the 2sec part they are touching it at 1:34 . no gameplay test to see how stable this thing is, which is the most important thing players are looking for in a rig. it's simple: if it flex, it's a bad rig. no flex at all is what players are looking for, but in this video the wheel is moving left and right at the moment they put hands on it, without any force feedback from the wheel. the rest of the video is just a couple people screwing bolts into wood for a basic design.... if it's the best diy rig you've seen you didn't looked much cause there is basically nothing to see here..... a wood structure with bolts is always gonna flex at some point even with entry level wheels. aluminium profile is the way to go for a diy simrig. more expensive than wood, but stable for a long time and still way cheaper than brandname rig.

    Moin, you made a fine RIG there
    I'm more of a hobby at ACC at the Series X and just looked at what material had accumulated over the years.
    I built my RIG completely out of wood and this is what it looks like now. It only has to be filled and then painted black with orange accents.
    However, it has become quite massive (1.72 mx 1.20 m). I built in the Gamechair as only I am allowed to sit in it. So he didn't have to go on any rails.
    Unfortunately, the options on the XBox are very limited.
    I took the 3 vibrators + control from an old massage mat, screwed 2 of them into the seat and the third to the pedals. Connected via the subwoofer of the Gamechair. Not as optimal as on a PC, but the result is astonishingly good. Engine vibrations, curbs or gear changes are simulated well.
    I can proudly say that I have made something fantastic for me out of "junk in the basement". Except for a few corners, I had everything lying around.
    I think it's great when someone thinks about it and builds something for themselves. Anyone can buy ... 😄
    Definitely a nice video of you with a great result.
    Here is a very short video of my RIG in its current state.

    • @jochenkraus7016
      @jochenkraus7016 8 місяців тому

      There's already a place to attach it and it's quick and easy to reach. Depending on the track in sim racing, you have to change gears many times per lap.
      I built a similar rig (with parts of a chair instead of a car seat) and need a place for the shifter. Next to the seat is too far away so I'll probably add a small table to the vertical plank.

    • @lana_monich
      @lana_monich  3 роки тому +2

      Honestly, I just measured the distance from the seat brackets to the pedals, and the height of the steering wheel. We made a lot of adjustments along the way to make it comfortable. If you want I can send over the measurements I ended up using.

      It looks like the pedals are mounted on a wooden plate that's slightly bigger than the pedal unit and that's bolted to the angled wood parts.

      Dimensions won’t mean anything, if you’re going to custom build then you build for your height, what’s comfortable for you, what seat you buy & what gear you have. Each time they moved forward a step they sat in it and tried it out. You can do the same by deciding what leg length is comfortable for you, what table (steering wheel) height is comfortable for you etc
