Thank you for updating this. I used to soak down for 30 minutes and stopped doing it because of your previous videos. I will now start soaking them again and may be a little bit longer. I kept wondering why my orchid bark kept getting so dry as well as the aerial route. I use your fertilizer recipe and thankfully the one that is in bloom is still blooming or the leaves or flowers have not fallen off. She still looks really healthy because I spray the aerial route when it gets silvery.

Amy, thank you for your reply on a much older video that I had just found when I was searching the web for Orchid fertilizing information. I am definitely going to focus on your current & most recent videos. There is so much out there on both classic grow medium and Water Culture. I am seeing so many of the most active You Tube channels that raved about Water Culture returning their collections to classic grow medium. You have both on your channel. I am interested to see if you are still currently doing Water Culture. Your site has the best information on fertilizer and classic grow medium and that will be my focus as my three struggling orchids are in classic grow medium. Again... thank you for the time and effort you put into helping all of us Orchid lovers.
I always soak them from the bottom, have holes on side and bottom of plastic pot. I don’t want fertilizer to stay on top of the roots ( because of salt deposits…) They all do great.
Thank you for this video. I have started to use this method but not quite as high with the water, with the Jacks formula you suggested, and I see a difference already. I repotted my orchids in orchiata bark a week ago and they seem very happy. I will bring the soak level higher next time. And I am using the fertilizer with my TC and CC and my one Frozen in Time, and I see new growth already. I’m at 240 ppm now. So I thank you for all your help. I mean it when I say you are a blessing to our plant family.

I bottom water all my plants, and they get a top flush twice a month. I have my first orchid flower stem developing and I'm so excited, but she definitely needs to be repotted. Would now be a good time to repot, before the flower stalk fully develops?
How can I tell when the bark is dry. It is in a white ceramic pot with good drainage. I watered 1 week ago on 9/16/23 after the first time I repotted since I got her😊🌺 Ty

Hi Amy , are you still soaking without fertilizer first then fertilizer so the roots don’t burn? Also where is a good place to buy phal. Orchids thanks
Hi Amy, I have a yellow NOID Phal that spiked later than my other ones did. I had two orchids that did that. But I increased the magnesium and one did finally grow and buds opened. But the yellow one has remained very progressing slowly. I continue to give it extra magnesium. But it still not progressing. Do you have any idea what I can do.
Hi Yoli, I would not increase the magnesium. Go back to a balanced recipe. When you feed a lot of magnesium, it blocks Nitrogen absorption. Nitrogen makes spikes grow. Happy growing!
