Great video educational how many inches do female has to be I have moca black and orange not sure how big they have to be before they can start laying eggs
I got a pair of black darwin like 4 years ago, the male died so i got another male which the female killed, and then i got an other one and they have live together for about 2 years. i have a bio cube 29 gal, is there any chance that they breed?
Are they happy w/ just the pot instead of an anemone? You mentioned removing the young after they hatch. What if you just had a lot of hiding places for the fry in the main tank? I did that w/ guppies & they normally eat their young, but I found w/ a lot of hiding places, some of them survived.
wcdeich4 I know this comment is a year old but the question gets asked all the time. I don't know of any success stories but it is therotically possible to keep the fry with the parents but you run into alot of problems. 1. The fry can easily be Nemo style sucked into any filter or pumps the tank have. You wouldn't be able to filter the tank, borderline impossible with 2 large adults to keep it clean enough for the sensitive fry without the filtration . 2 baby guppies are born big enough to eat little flakes, baby clownfish require tiny living plankton like creatures, and alot of them. With the parents in there eating them it will be almost impossible to keep enough food density for the babies not to starve. The only saltwater fish that is known to have fry successfuly mature in a community tank is bangai cardinal.
grumblez thanks I also want to ask you that when you separate the Fry's in different tank do you put filter in it and do we have to change 30% water daily.
grumblez i was going too say with so many people having clowns if the fry where able too survive I’m a mature tank. Everyone would have 20 clowns in there tank 😂😂
I have got two clownfishes and each of them have their own bulb anemone to sleep at night. But why does the bigger female clownfish attack the little male clownfish all the time?
Great video. Very informative. Thank you for taking your time and trouble and hope most of them survived. I have a pair of randy Darwins at present, and Chromies.and my Fire Shrimps spawned a month ago. Busy time!
my clownfish are doing that too, shaking like if they were having seizures, one is huge and the other one is half the size, its been a year since we got them, the only problem is we have 5 more different species of fish in our tank plus 2 shrimps and 3 snails, we never expected this to happen but IT IS lol, what should I do? they are cleaning the rock and keeping the other fish away from it. I dont want the eggs to die or get eaten
what happens if you don't take out the eggs? will fish in the tank eat them? I will soon have a saltwater tank and would like to know for when I have 20+ clownfish in a 300+ gallon tank and they likely start breeding. I am planning on having some small tangs, gobies, jawfish, squirrel fish, mandarins, hawkfish etc. maybe a small stingray and some star fish and more. thank you!
Can I just put the terracotta pot in the top of the tank in a guppy breeder, you know the type about 5”x4” acrylic container in the aquarium to stop the other fish eating them ?
The other including the parents will eat them. Also makes it easier as you don't have to siphon them out or the breeding tank and they hatch right into the tank they are going to be fed and raised through metamorphosis in!!
I just realized I have a nest in my recently moved 38g tank. In my tank they nest is attached into a corner of the tank on the lower left side, near a rock formation. I am wondering if the hatchlings still have a chance to survive even if I do not take them out.... now I kind of feel bad if they all die
I would say no. The most important part of keeping reef fishes in the knowledge one must have to keep them properly. This takes lots of hours of reading and learning. Please do yourself and the fish a favor and learn proper care techniques before purchasing ornamental fish. Also remember that the entire premise of Finding Nemo/Dory is that fish aren't meant to be kept in tanks.
athar kotawedekar it depends how big your tank is a ''dory'' fish needs 120 gallons per ''dory'' fish and then you need to add more gallons for the other fish
What would happen if I left the fry in the tank with the parents. I want to start breeding my black ocellaris clownfish but I'm doing a lot of research and asking a lot of questions.
Great video, Thanks! I have a Clarkii breeding with my true perc right now. Any tips? Eggs are black but no eyes yet.. and yes they drew some blood when I was in the tank and didnt realize they had been breeding lol. I have a new tank ready to go as well
I get the jist of it.. just looking for some info on a perfect fry raising tank tomorrow when I remove the live rock they have been laying on and get a few more bites haha
hay brother , is it possible to feed fry with artemia on day 1 they hatch, because its very difficult to find rotifers in my country, please help, any suggestion?
febriant febri You can buy rotifer cysts (egg's) on line and start your own culture. Brine Shrimp Direct ships everywhere. IMO baby brine shrimp are to big until fry are about 6 day's old.
Why in the hell does this video not have more likes? Over 300k views and less than 2k likes in 8 years for such an informative and concise explanation. Ungrateful shits. Thank you 😊 I was looking to see the behavior differences from mine to others out there because they seem to be sticking around their pot and bobbing around/ in and out. Maybe I'll see eggs sooner than I thought.
Are the sexually inactive clownfish sexless or are they all male? There seems to be debate on the Internet amongst people who are not marine biologists. Im.aware of clownfish behavior and mating rituals, but on a deep biological level it remains slightly hidden. The juveniles. . Male or sexless? I know that after the female the next in line is the male, yes.
Should’ve continued on about the care for the fry if you’re making a video on breeding them
Its complicated, so he didn't want to explain it....
Very helpful, mine spawned last night :)
hi prestige reef xd
I enjoyed this. Nice clownfish as well. Thanks for Sharing. It was very interesting.
thanks for the upload, their breeding behavior reminds me of my cichlids
WAIT FEMALES HAVE TEETH FINDING NEMO WAS RIGHT
Great video educational how many inches do female has to be I have moca black and orange not sure how big they have to be before they can start laying eggs
Amazing experience with black clownfish my favorite color

is the pot terra cotta?and is it safe to be in a reef tank?
How long does it take the parents to breed again after pulling the eggs?
This shit is so fucking relaxing. Idk why
Hello, I'm looking for information on breeding, because I can not do well. Do you have the procedure?
I have got two clownfishes and each of them have their own bulb anemone to sleep at night. But why does the bigger female clownfish attack the little male clownfish all the time?
Great video. Very informative. Thank you for taking your time and trouble and hope most of them survived. I have a pair of randy Darwins at present, and Chromies.and my Fire Shrimps spawned a month ago. Busy time!
When should i remove the parents?
My clown fish lay eggs a out 4 days ago.
Yes I have raised many to maturity
I don't have a spare tank setup. could I just move the fry to the sump refugium if I was to do this?
Excellent video! Just had a quick question. Is it necessary to feed the pair multiple times a day in order for them to breed? Thanks
Which cup is used... What material is it made up off
Have you managed to raise any clownfish to maturity?
Great job on the video vinylguy26! Maybe you do another video for continued care! Or how to transfer them when they hatch! KEEP MAKING VIDEOS
What about the fry? What do they eat?
Very cool video! Thanks for sharing. Im sure your aware of the Aiptasia growing in there? Are you leaving it in the tank for a reason?
my clownfish are doing that too, shaking like if they were having seizures, one is huge and the other one is half the size, its been a year since we got them, the only problem is we have 5 more different species of fish in our tank plus 2 shrimps and 3 snails, we never expected this to happen but IT IS lol, what should I do? they are cleaning the rock and keeping the other fish away from it. The reason for moving the egg's is that
after they hatch the parents and most
other things in the tank will eat them.
What' do you feed the fry...Excellent video...I've Lightning Maroons...
I feed rotifers for the first week
and then new hatch brine shrimp.
+vinylguy26😊
Hello very nice pair i like it. can u me pls say copepods ,Brachionus plicatilis or both of them?
After how many days we have to remove egg or the fish in other container?
what happens if you don't take out the eggs? will fish in the tank eat them? You sound like Cameron Frye when he called Principal Rooney to get Sloane excused from school...😂👍👍
What do you call there breeding house?
"If the heggs are gonna atch" .... WOW
Very nice well informative video about clown fish breeding... Thanks alot!
Lovely video, thank you for your time uploading it and sharing!
Can I just put the terracotta pot in the top of the tank in a guppy breeder, you know the type about 5”x4” acrylic container in the aquarium to stop the other fish eating them ?
Can you put the parents in the spare tank with babies?
If you had moved the pair to a twenty gallon, could you just move the parents out instead of moving the eggs?
Wonderful video. Just wondering why you moved the eggs? Was it strictly a breeding purpose, or because the others would consume them?
The other including the parents will eat them. Also makes it easier as you don't have to siphon them out or the breeding tank and they hatch right into the tank they are going to be fed and raised through metamorphosis in!!
Great video. Awesome narration.
Cool video.
the lay eggs in main tank or i need to do it in a separate tank?
Great explanation. Wondering if I can I leave the egg with the parents until they hatch? instead of moving them to a separate tank
Once the egg's hatch the parents will eat the fry.
Are you from denmark?
Excellent ! Thanks for your video... I am going to try the clay pot method
Just realized that my clown is pregnant. How many more days until she lays eggs?
Can't u just let them hatch in the original tank, and let them hatch with the mom and dad, would they grow up?
How many days do you need to change water for them?
- Chuan

so cool! I was told it is really hard to breed clownfish because they only put their eggs in a certain anemone? I guess that's not entirely true
My clowns enjoy various foods before breeding.
How can make them breed? And after how long would they start? I have a pair for 3.5 years now
Please share your experience
I have had fish that have bred at 1 year,
and fish that never breed.
It is up to them.
I feed my fish in the morning
before I go to work.
And then again after work.
But feeding more often is better.
beautiful pair............
Hey, What do you need to feed them when hatched?
Really nice teaching
You did not show how to get the nest out and transfer it to the another tank
Clowns can stay as a pair for a year or
more before producing a nest.
how you get the nest out? they can be exposed to air when your are getting it out?
+Pedro Bare
Egg's can be exposed to air for several minuets.
Still breeding clowns? Has the proccess changed in the last 5 years? Any update would be nice
I no longer breed .
Amazing stuff, excellent video
Great video. At my local shop they have a Clarkki Eyebrow Picasso Pair, Beautiful and rare. I have put a short vid of them on my channel.
can i keep dory fish of pair with the clown fishs & can they b keept in a normal aqueon tank .....please reply
Yes you can keep tangs with clowns.

arturo gonzalez the adults would eat the fry when they are hungry or by accident as they are very small
Max Morgan or they will be consumed by the environment or sucked into the filter
awesome share
Great video, Thanks! I have a Clarkii breeding with my true perc right now. Any tips? Eggs are black but no eyes yet.. and yes they drew some blood when I was in the tank and didnt realize they had been breeding lol. I have a new tank ready to go as well

Informative. Nice.
The female is 3.5 inch or 9cm.
This was awesome!
Bagus banget
good
You can move the egg's or the
parents. The egg's are easier.
Post hatch you feed rotifer's
that have been fed on
phytoplankton (greenwater)
Small water changes keep
the tank clean.
Would you do a video on your feeding process ? Getting the phytoplankton etc
thanks for the video help a lot
Do you still breed?
The pot is terra cotta (clay from wall mart)
Safe so far.
Actually clay is what it was before it was exposed to heat one exposed to heat it's considered terra cotta just tid bit of knowledge that I found
hay brother , is it possible to feed fry with artemia on day 1 they hatch, because its very difficult to find rotifers in my country, please help, any suggestion?

Male kinda looks like he is eating them lol
Where can I buy this guys I love them ? In Anaheim California
Yes I still breed.
vinylguy26 So do i but just not fish.

I no longer breed clownfish.
I did not know they change their sex!!
how clownfish become black 0_o
Olivia Rodriguez they come in all kinds of colors.
They’re from Darwin Australia
Obviously no success in keeping these alive, do we need these videos now?
Was expecting water temp, ph, salinity feeding etc...
Some of these fish definetly airbrushed
OK I liked it but hell on hell no I did not like
