Looks like there's a ton of potential here. I hope mash has got the drive to push through the negativity and keep working on this game for a long time. A really cool option I think would be to have a menu toggle between bmx streets engine and the og pipe physics and tricks. Don't think it'd take much to implement and would give players a huge variety more options? I know nothing about game dev but a toggle for the two setups would be insane
this would probably be god awful to implement. maybe some modder will make a mod that tweaks the game to be more like pipe but even then it will never be 100% accurate.

The camera shake toggle is such a welcome addition. Game was nauseating beforehand.

glitchy or not - LEFT FOOT FORWARD GANG :D it's annoying having to constantly toggle it to right n back to get the animations to catch up butttt for the most part it's ok!

@@romierome-ew1gb kind of like skateboarding, it's classed as a stance so you have Regular and Goofy - in the game it won't make much difference but for those of us treating this almost like a simulator an making it as close to what we do irl it helps :P
Regular tbogs dont work tho :(
@@cykablyat8862 try reset your foot stance n set it back again - i'm like 85% sure I did a tbog earlier as I had a quick 45 minutes before work (I might be wrong though)
@@itzpolo_0121 it does tbog but wrong one.. he does tbog with left hand only, but right stance you can do tbogs both ways.
I was watching theoldpotato do a livestream today at that park but he never saw my comments asking about where this park is so thank you for showing us lol. There's so much to see and ride I've ride passed there probably 30 times and never saw it.

I've really grown to appreciate it a lot more than i did on day of release, just getting use to bugs and how the game works haha. Sucks thats PSI will be taken out, it was a really good idea in theory.

After buying the game this morning. I like it and think it's a big upgrade from PIPE. It's definitely harder to play, but it feels good.
My opinion may change, as I only have about an hour in the game. But I really like it so far.
Just don't stress too much about the harder challenges and take your time, when you figure out the pumping it all gets a lot easier

No it does not play better than session. Clearly you haven’t played session recently or taken the time to get good at the game but session plays great. Just get your stats right and it’s amazing. The new map is incredible.
hey just a tip for pumping(im not sure if there's another comment stating this), but you want to begin your pump before and than release at where the transition starts.

While people are entitled to their opinions on this game, and I agree with a lot of the criticism, the overwhelmingly negative people who are saying things like "game is awful going back to pipe mash scammed us" and stuff really need to have a look at this objectively
Pipe has been around for a long time. A lot of updates through the years, a plethora of mods to make it playable and 1000s of hours of muscle memory. Of course this brand new game will feel different to you and of course it still needs work. Immediate dismissal of the game is absurd
@@moomoocowsly I understand and agree with the financial aspect on your comment but steam can and will still offer refunds in these scenarios as it falls under special consumer laws.
As for the development part of it, Pipe released 6 years ago with some earlier alphas/betas. He hasn't been working on the game as we know it for 6 years... He has done, and publicly stated he has, multiple complete re-writes of the game. This iteration is likely 2-3 years old. It has a good base like Pipe did but Pipe was also a buggy broken mess on release. It took multiple updates from Mash and YEARS of community modding to get it to a truly playable standard
It seems like the game was only made around right foot, then left foot was added in the end when a bunch of people were asking about it
Do u think a laptop with integrated graphics,2.4ghz i5, and 8 gigs of ram can handle it on low settings?
I am really enjoying it but I don't think I'll ever get used to the spinning. On pipe I used to be able to 5 flat, do perfect dipped 3's over boxes but on streets it's so jittery and the slightest under rotate throws him off
In streets you really gotta finesse the stick to get the spin to look right. Can't really just hold it all the way, gotta find that sweet spot for amount of time you'll be in the air and the amount you want to spin
@@roundearthshill248 I used to roll the stick round and sort of nose it into the landing and worked perfect in pipe, in streets it's not quite as smooth
They need to turn down the rotation friction. The amount of people i see bail due to under rotation because they let go of the joy stick too soon is astonishing. Not to mention thats not how irl physics work…
gotta say i love the jank it makes the game frustrating but sooooooo funny
I will repurchase in a sale later. The game has a ton of potential, and even though I suck at it, there are many things i dislike, I hope mash keeps workingon it for at least a year to revamp things, fix the bugs, make the physics more consistent.. I also really dislike how you need to let go and input again after jumping to do tricks, its useless, at least I can't see any reason for that. I will gladly practice to get better once the game feels more fair, and at least he already added the camera shake toggle which was making me dizzy
I also wish he added some way of letting the trick land if it's just about to complete.. sometimes you do a trick and the rider is about to place his feet on the pedals but you land right before and he just falls, that's not realistic at all, it just makes the game harder for no reason. It's one of the reasons riders republic feels nice to trick around, its more lenient, and I mean this while putting all its arcadiness aside

I decided to not buy the game just because i saw your gameplay at day 1 and looked like a downgrade from pipe. but from this video it looks like its actually better going to download it today.
Just expect things to get better over time, there is a lot that needs fixing right now but you can have plenty of fun too

Is there a trick to snapping into a grind? It feels like I have to line it up perfectly to get into any grind

I can't launch any more tricks after touching L2 on my controller, I can continue to rotate but I can't launch any trick without alt tabbing twice

Yeah I’m sorry but I’ve been plying pipe for years and this is miles above pipe. To be honest I really think people don’t like that the game is harder, and that’s what it is, harder. All of ur manuals and lean tricks are way more sensitive and pipe never made u have to balance ur own manuals and or have consequences for sharp turns in manuals. Modded pipe itself is very buggy and as someone who grew up in the bmx scene I love all the animations. I promise every bit of jank you’re experiencing is on you. It wasn’t cgi in the trailer for the gameplay and everybody loved that. Pipe is considered arcade compared to what this game is.
Yeah no kidding. Took me 205 tries on one challenge yesterday but I started linking way better lines about half way

how the fuck are you doing manuals so easily? every time i try i either don't manual or i instantly lose balance. it feels like there's no sweet spot to the manuals at all. i'm still deeply frustrated by how this game feels to play.
@@moomoocowsly the sweet spot is unreasonably precise. i pull the stick back 5% and i don't manual. i pull it back 10% and i'm manualing so high i instantly fall over. and this is a new controller. i can manual without falling or it looking like ass maybe 1 in every 10 tries. its fucking ridiculous.
when i manual in session or skater xl, it's never inconsistent. pull the stick halfway, boom you're in a manual. even in pipe, same shit. pull the stick halfway, you're in a manual. the tooltip IN STREETS says to pull the stick halfway, but doing that just instantly causes you to fall over. the manual balance in this game is absolutely hammerfucked.
i can't wait for modders to fix this fucking game jesus christ it's so frustrating to play.
