I just finished Alan Wake remastered on PS5 (played the original upon release) to get set for Alan Wake 2 and then came directly here to watch your fantastic lore video!! Well done. This game is the pinnacle of story telling in a video game. So well done that it draws you right in just like some of King's best works!
I got a theory for you. What if Alan and Thomas are one in the same? Zane tried to write himself out of reality, but ended up making a reincarnation that was Alan. That's why they look the same, and that's why Zane knows all about Alan. The dark presence didn't wanna let Zane go so Alan was going to end up in bright falls regardless of Alice. Alice could even be another version of Barbara Jagger.
I'm not sure if I remember this right (it's been 10 years lol) I remember there being a theory that Thomas is Alan's father. I don't remember if that was ever disproven or not
Jessie probably won't be there, but I'd be surprised if the FBC doesn't have some sort of presence considering the FBC has multiple years of advanced warning about the new Bright Falls AWE and we know that Ahti is on vacation in a neighboring town to Bright Falls.

One thing that really bothers me towards the end of the first game is that Zane introduces and seems to be okay with Mr Scratch taking over Alan's life. If Scratch is meant to be some dark denizen, why would light-possessed Zane be at all okay with that?
That’s a huge question for me as well, and the DLC episodes make Zane’s intentions even more ambiguous. He’s not necessarily who or what we think he is.

Absolutely fantastic work.. I have played Alan Wake, the American nightmare DLC.. Control, and the AWE DLC so I know the story.. But some things were a bit confusing, especially since I started Alan Wake 2 a week ago. So this video really helped putting all the puzzle pieces together and understand the story in Alan Wake 2 much better.

Awesome! As for the end of an era... I kinda hope so! I'm ready for one chapter to close, and a new one to open. The original Alan Wake 2 was supposed to come out a very, very long time ago. Remedy didn't intend to string this story along for 13 years! Now that they have a chance to revisit Alan Wake, I'm hoping we are able to resolve a lot of loose ends and start something new.
It depends how much answers we get, and mostly if Alan truly gets free. If he does, no matter how they continue the story it will deff feel like chapter 1 has concluded.

That being said, the story I got out of the small bit I played fascinated me, so when I played Control later and found out its story was tied in with Alan Wake, it blew my mind. Then Alan Wake 2 was announced, and I resolved to play it despite not having finished the first game. This video was valuable as all hell in getting me up to speed in time for the sequel's release today. Thank you so much for making it.

Remedy are the masters in great and weird storytelling. I got the collectors edition of Alan Wake and immediately fell in love with the world and mood. Control gave me hope that Alan‘s story would continue and here we are. Can’t wait!

I wish I had seen it back then, it’s such a cool prologue to the story

I got the collectors edition of Alan Wake and immediately fell in love with the world and mood.
Control gave me hope that Alan‘s story would continue and here we are.
