I think that's how things ended up. Choji seemed highly liked at the beginning and he even went to beat up the Zinc group for hurting his friends. However, then he got bored and obsessed with power. That would be the moment people would start to fear him, hate him, and yet at the same time admire and want to be like him and on his side. People still enjoy being around him though because Togame does the dirty work needed to keep him happy. It's a very unhealthy and toxic dynamic. Togame was strong from the beginning but he was clearly not a bad guy who would beat others and kick them out of the group when they failed to be stronger than an enemy, no, this was a rule he enforced to keep Choji happy. But for how long does one keep inside the pain of doing all this BS for one person that would leave you behind if you just so happened to fail too? ~ Vero ~
you will see next ep, is hard to say who is stronger than who bc both of them are not on their best , one is crumbling, the other still need to grow, so yeah time will show, sakura vs togame was something unexpected when i red the manga and im glad it ended the way it ended. same for ume vs choji, looking foward to see how they animated ther fight.

I think, for Togame, Choji was his only friend. He doesn't want to lose him, and others hate Choji.

The key word is atonement, anyway look forward to how sakura and togame's fight wrap up next week.
Togame turned out a lot more interesting than I thought actually. Someone needs to get choji to therapy though lol
