@@FinnManusia I was disappointed to see that the beta content wasn't included until I saw the lake where you crash and realized it was future connected. Pretty cool.
If I were to guess, Mumkhar's arm breaks like that because his normal run cycle brings his claws up beside his face. Either they didn't want the claw to obscure his face during the close-up shot, or the claw was actually going though the camera.
Having played Future Connected, I’m amazed how little it appears they changed the Bionis shoulder from its original design. I can only spot a few relatively minor differences. It’s also interesting that it has no reference point in the original, given how it doesn’t have one in FC either.
I think that, while it might have been cut due to time constraints, they still used it masterfully in DE. I think it might have been originally supposed to connect Eryth sea to Valak Mountain, but they decided to just do a ship instead of add the area farther in development. It's crazy how much detail they put into it though, and I think everyone in their right mind would use an unused but basically finished area if they wanted to make an epilogue chapter.
@@derpfluidvariant0916 I think it was actually supposed to connect frontier village to eryth sea. As it currently stands, it’s somewhat random that the village happens to have a teleporter-thingy that leads to the bionis head, and the shoulder would have made a good segue.

left shoulder (used only in a cutscene), right shoulder, left leg, left arm, the bionis' head (top of it - as it's shown in the artwork)... and more areas for the mechonis... now that'd be cool
7:24 what you're talking about here is called mip mapping and most 3D games use this. You notice it much more in a large open world game - i'd even go so far as to say every open world game uses it.
apparently it is hard to find and see, but during the opening cutscene, if you mess with the camera there is actually a tiny Monado in the glowing beam of the sword anyway, wanted this for so long, thank you so much!
I've been waiting for this episode. Xenoblade always seemed to do a good job of "placing" and "relating" locations in their proper spots, and I am not disappointed. Xenoblade X has some interesting things to show. You could look into the Mimeosome Maintenance Center, and you can also show the model of the Black Knight that appears at the end of the game (since we only got a top down look at him)
"Jupiter", surely you meant the half model planet was Saturn, right? Great episode though, I appreciate those zoom outs all over the Bionis, I didn't realise they rendered it all the time.
Coming back to this five years later and still an amazing episode! I said it in a comment a year ago, but I still hope that you'll do the DE version, 2 and the upcoming 3 as well sometime! Great stuff dude!

It's amazing how much work went into making this world look believable, even at parts where they didn't really need to. No wonder it took so long to make. Great episode, by the way!

It's proof of how much talent and care Monolith Soft puts into their games. Even in XCX, there are little detailed touches like eyes shifting involuntarily.
5:46 What's more impressive to me is how they managed to do a near-perfect emulation of the entire game on the New 3DS. Sure, maybe the zoomouts wouldn't have been as impressive, but still.
After seeing all these areas in the game like this I realized it would make for an amazing remake with new graphics and everything. Love this game and your channel man
The zoom out of the Mechonis and Bionis fighting is technically canon, since during the ending there's the same zoom out showing them fighting in what looks exactly like a skydome/skybox, which ties into the deeper lore behind the world. I'd love to see you do one of Definitive Edition to see what's been updated. Seeing the Bionis shoulder map only having the top half of the Bionis on flat land makes me wonder if it was intended to be an epilogue area at one point during initial development instead of coming between Satorl and Makna, and then they just ran with that idea for Future Connected.
There's a couple of interesting details you missed in the opening cut scene! I noticed you were even using the Home Menu suspend trick with removed home menu textures to examine paused cut scenes. If you do the same on said opening cut scene, you can see that there are actually Telethia swarming around the Bionis during a certain mug shot, and if you zoom in on the Bionis' grasped hand you can discover a tiny, tiny red Monado in there. No joke, I even have a video of this on my channel somewhere. The loading screen on the title screen for a new game also has an interesting quirk. If you remove/get past the loading screen texture, you can see it loads the party of Dunban, Dickson and Mumkhar on the title screen's empty field.
Seeing this, I can understand why a friend of mine said they cried with joy when they saw some areas in the Definitive Edition. It already looks incredible for what a Wii can handle here, but when I joined the series, it was via the already improved graphics. Must have been like getting glasses when you've never seen your environment clearly before. The marsh is one of my favourite areas, becaue of the music and night atmosphere. Man, it has improved by 200% compared to the original (that was already quite cool to look at).
can u do any open world games like gta? is it difficult? would I just not make for an interesting video? I think it would be good for comparing map sizes with other open world games like zelda, red dead or jak 2/3. or just an aerial tour would be cool imo
GTA is pretty easy to do yourself and most people have already done something like boundary break with it on youtube. people have picked it apart and analized it so much there isnt really any more hidden things in it. unless you are talking about the first 2 GTA games.
I would love to see any Halo, but especially CE and 2! They're some of my favorite games of all time just due to growing up with them, and also that they still hold up.
Alien Isolation would be interesting to see how much of the ship is rendered while playing. Other suggestions would be: The Last Story, God of War (2 would be specific game preference) or Onimusha.
After beating the game more times then I care to say 🙄 and 3 years later and 6 years after its initial release in 2011 (for me in eu) this still doesn't seize to amaze me, incredible, goosebumps all over again, and looking forward even more to Definitive edition later this month 🤓 Thanks for showing this amazing footage and zoom outs and zoom ins. 😎
now when anyone comes over to my house I will proceed to get into that pose to exclaim , " They're here." .
8:00 for anyone who wants to fast travel to that point.
I wonder if that ever became a sort of inside joke for the developers?

It already looks incredible for what a Wii can handle here, but when I joined the series, it was via the already improved graphics. Must have been like getting glasses when you've never seen your environment clearly before. The marsh is one of my favourite areas, becaue of the music and night atmosphere. Man, it has improved by 200% compared to the original (that was already quite cool to look at).
Yeah! Amazing work as always Shesez. I really love this game environment.
can u do any open world games like gta?
is it difficult? would I just not make for an interesting video?
I think it would be good for comparing map sizes with other open world games like zelda, red dead or jak 2/3.
or just an aerial tour would be cool imo
Havnt tried yet but im interested myself
GTA is pretty easy to do yourself and most people have already done something like boundary break with it on youtube. people have picked it apart and analized it so much there isnt really any more hidden things in it. unless you are talking about the first 2 GTA games.
You can totally do GTA, even up to the newest one - it's easy to do. Lemme know if you need help setting it up
Would YOU do an interesting vid? you asked it
You can NEVER have too many zoom-outs.
I really wish they would make an HD version for xenoblade chronicles :/
Yeah. Imagine what this game would look like in HD.
Do I have news for you
xD
Us boys from the future bring good news
yeah if only lol
This is easily my favorite episode so far.
It’s Remake Time!
The actual Monado itself is in the Bionis's hand if you zoom into the blade held by Bionis during the opening cutscene
Cool!
Could next game be Halo? Since it was on the same poll with Xenoblade?
I might go that route since my collaberation fell through
Did you think about that Mechonis has an intact left arm, in the 2D texture at Arith Sea? (10:20)
I would love to see any Halo, but especially CE and 2! They're some of my favorite games of all time just due to growing up with them, and also that they still hold up.
SwedenTheHedgehog egil rebuilt it. that's what happened
skyblade57 Oh yeah, sh*t.. I forgot about that completely :|
8:21 thank you future connected
Alien Isolation would be interesting to see how much of the ship is rendered while playing. Other suggestions would be: The Last Story, God of War (2 would be specific game preference) or Onimusha.
After beating the game more times then I care to say 🙄 and 3 years later and 6 years after its initial release in 2011 (for me in eu) this still doesn't seize to amaze me, incredible, goosebumps all over again, and looking forward even more to Definitive edition later this month 🤓
Thanks for showing this amazing footage and zoom outs and zoom ins. 😎
