This video popped up and I was like sweet, Rick is on Bert's podcast, Bert starts saying "I had a great conversation with Rick Glassman" then I pause it to get back to work. I turned it on later tonight and the very next words were "about Magic the Gathering" and I shot right up. If only I had let is keep going for another second initially!
I have never seen either of these two be so patient while talking to another person.

Rick is actually a really good listener, tbf.
@@Joe.D.Sheppard -- I would say that he's good at recording what the other person is saying, but I do think listening is something else entirely. Good listeners, IMO, are those who can pay complete attention to another person while they're speaking without the need to interrupt. Rick isn't so great at this, being that he's always chomping at the bit to get a word (or joke) in edgewise. Dialogue is very competitive for him, you can tell, which can benefit the podcast when he has on someone with a similar sense of humor or desire to entertain, but when he has on someone truly thoughtful or sincere it rarely ends well.

We went fully remote when the pandemic started, so it's been definitely over a year of hinting Will Smith will be on Tyso
Rick was great. His lowkey "your arms were tired" that he got in after Bert talked about flying in to Baltimore was the best one.
Good call. I took it to be a reference to the effort Bert put into bending the elbow - drinking his beer such an effort etc.

Rick does 4 jokes every opportunity he gets. The "My arms are tired" joke anytime somebody say's they flew. He does a joke when he say's the Guests name 3 times. He will make a silly acronym joke. Also anytime he mentions his age he say's I'm 33... Today! I'm tired of all of them and I'd be fine if he stopped them all together.

Not to mention the reason they were moved was voided because Rick kept standing up putting his head in Berts camera shot
Bert is a notorious liar, this is most unlikely true
On one hand rick likes to get under peoples skin for bits so I kind of assumed it was purposefully brought...but it's also why some of his guests (who don't know him) really don't know how to react or guage Rick's intentions half the time IMO

I have so many magic cards from my brother. He was a huge collector before he passed away. I don't think I could ever sell them. And there are definitely some super rare and valuable cards in there

Bert and Rick really have great chemistry together. I never saw this podcast as an interview, but more like a conversation.
Bert seems like a fun dude because you can talk to him about literally anything and he will be excited and interested like a little kid 😂
Mannnnnn in my opinion bert, this is you best cast. The uncertainty in ricks voice about how the subject of magic the gathering cards and gsmes isnt coming off as interesting content is a fresh of breath air.... im a collector myself, so i get it. And love when ppl perl back thise layers of themselves. Love the cast, but love even more this one in particular..

Pretty sure it was rogan. Lol and Joey Diaz. Probably literally every single one of Bert's friends either told him he shouldn't take his shirt off or gave him shit about it at some point.

I really loved this episode. I like Bert and Rick together a lot more than I expected to.
This combination is surprisingly amazing, and now I really want a series where Rick sand Bert start buying Magic together and playing.

Yes @grandmadaewood. - Am loving podcasts set outdoors , hey, if you have the ‘location’ and the ‘weather’, it’s a great setting, and creates a great vibe for ‘conversation’ with 2-3 people. This IS perfection! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I love how vulnerable and sweet Bert really is. It felt most apparent in his most recent special. I love 2 bears, but seeing him get deep with Rick and others is so enjoyable as a viewer.
This will be interesting because both of them always make other's podcast their own 😂😂

Rick just explained what how MTG now compares to rare art for money laundering.
I had thousands of dollars invested in Magic The Gathering Online back in 2010. The game has it's own online currency and people definitely used that game currency to wash dirty money. As a collector I'd get pissed to see these launderers throw thousands of bucks around driving up the price of the cards I needed to compete in the tourny's.
I paused the show in the middle of the magic card conversation to go get my vaccine at Walgreens. Walking around, I see a few magic decks in the toy department looking like they had been hidden. My son collects them and this conversation made me respect it, so thanks. I bought them and when I went to the counter the tiny nerdy guy behind the counter literally made a disappointed gasp like grunt like he got sucker punched ringing them up. 🤣 And then he kept staring me down like why the hell would this mom lady want these magic cards. LOL I think there might be something in this. I think he hid them.
I doubt it was an employee. They would have just stashed it either in the back stock room or behind the register. If they were stashed on the sales floor that would be probably be from some kid wanting to come back and buy them.

I am not sure who was interviewing whom, but that made this all the more interesting.
I saw the Magic the Gathering clip and it made me want to watch the whole video.
It took me a few days, to finish, but well worth it.
This was such a thoughtful conversation. I enjoyed it so much. 👍👍

Epic POdcast. I like Rick, I like Bert, and they show something different about themselves in this conversation. It is a great duo. In fact I can imagine a great sitcom whith these two. Each brings a modified version from each other ( not that there is something wrong with the standard version).

Honestly, not into magic cards but this was one of the most real conversations on a podcast I have ever listened to. I did not know who Rick was before this but now I am intrigued.
