Tons of people in America (either based on family history, or cultural values, or the American mantra of pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps) are afraid to ever ask for help in doing *anything*. So they simply won't ask for it in the majority of situations, and *especially* wouldn't ask a comparative acquaintance to drive them to the airport. I think Rick with his mental peculiarities is much less afraid to ask for help, and also not great at picking up the cues if someone doesn't want to help. I know Bert said he really liked this show idea, but when he texted "I'm talking with my people," I highly doubt he was actually talking with his people about it. That's just something that people say to "kick the ball down the field," and Rick didn't pick up on it. I think a good rule of thumb for Rick is that if you come up with any wild ideas *during* a podcast with someone, don't assume that the person actually wants to do the thing. Within the context of the podcast, it's better for the person to go along with it and say that they really like it, but that doesn't usually mean they're ever going to follow up on it. Either situation is possible. It's similar to when you randomly meet an acquaintance on the street and they say "Let's go get drinks soon!" Generally, you say "Sure!" but in reality, you're either not planning on following up, or you're just excited in the moment and not thinking of your other responsibilities. In either situation, it's basically just an empty platitude, so the person doing the inviting should just be aware that whatever "plan" you made will most likely not happen. Edit: I just got to the part where Bert says he has a hard time saying "no" to things - that's another common sentiment, and the problem is that you *want* to say no, but you don't want to look like an asshole, so you'll instead say "yes" but then just end up not doing the thing anyway - or you'll reluctantly go along with it and feel shitty the whole time.

Bert n Rick are like the yin and Yang of confrontation. Rick is way too overly confrontational (and not understanding subtle hints), and Bert will never ask a favor and take things as hints that aren’t even hints. I feel like the happy medium is somewhere between the two.
1:04:42 At this moment, Bert was rethinking his sobriety. You can almost see a thought bubble with a cold pint of 🍺
That’s so funny I saw the same
Thing
Can we please have a “therapist Rick” series? It’s fucking gold.
And maybe a Rick the therapist/Dr Phill episode. 😂😂😂
The glasses and notebook with it was gold!
So much yes!!! :)
He should dress up like dr Phil
@@joshuaroach1834This! 😂❤
"Buddy, you Better have a Lot of vibrators."
Rick Glassman 2023
TAKE HIM TO TASK RICKY TICKY TAFFFFFYYYY
Hey Rick, I have no friends and I'm 29. You make my day better, thanks
Damn Rick, you sure hit it, psychologically on the head, for Bert, myself, and I am sure many others
Nobody get people off thier BS like Rick. 😂
So...when Rick first started talking, extremely emotionally, about the friend he was "having a time" with, was it Esther? Ive been waiting so long for another time 😂
Rick should start yet another podcast called 'Overthink King' . i just always wanted to see a pod with that title. Thanks.
Love you guys, we need more honest and open conversations. Thank you so much.
These two fighting over carpets
The carpet add timing was so beyond perfect Rick. I salute you
❤Rick you evolved on this episode. Well done man.
Funny as always buddy. “Ya gotta replenish!”
Great episode Rick, your interview style is unparalleled.
Squashing a beef used to take 10 minutes. Only these 2 guys would hyperanalyze this much 😂
Yea, annoying. Boring.
this is already the best interview of bert ive ever seen
Just remembered - I found this pod because of bertcast - I feel so thankful
i love the short animations! It just gives the podcast another hilarious dimension
These two guys are so fucking awesome!!! This convo is so real, so much respect to both of em!!!! ❤
Perfect timing! Seriously underrated on your Marshall Carpet One commercials drops.
21:12 Holy shit I just spat my tea out all over my desk in laughter, Rick is too good man.
I love this friendship
I love Rex level of maturity and I always never afraid of confrontation I still won't ever forget the interview between him and Tony hinchcliffe
I thought this pod was very awkward.I see that Rick wanted to confront Bert on the pod but I think it should’ve been talked about off the pod. I think it was extremely awkward when they reached the whole carpet commercial topic. It could’ve been dealt with within a couple minutes but it lasted way too long. Love Rick and love Bert but I don’t see Bert coming on the pod again
something that changed my life, its not the finger under the nose that stops the sneeze, its putting pressure above your upper lip that stops the sneeze. Try it, it works EVERY time
Rick the Psychoanalyst, coming in hot. And boy are his arms tired
❤
11:57 Bert: "Are there riddle guys?" 🤣😂🤣
Can't believe I watched the Tom and old Burt episodes again yesterday and then woke up to see this had been released
25:32 I laughed so hard 😭 “thanks” then ricks face HAHAH
Glassman bopped him so hard at the end there when Bert tried to bury the tape🤣🤣🤣
loved the hell outta this pod, never see bert more introspective and intelligent speaking than when he’s with you. ALSO on a side note, dude you GOTTA have marc rebillet on. Or don’t GOT to I guess but I feel like yall would vibe a whole bunch together lol
