Hey I’m trying to find the song that you use in the begging of your video, I have been look for it for about a mouth. If u could tell me where it is or what it’s called that me be amazing. 😅
Man, I had the same battle cry from my brakes after riding Angel Fire, South Boundary, Purgatory, and The Whole Enchilada in Moab (11 miles of descending in one ride!) in five days. They just got so hot from slowing my 215lb self down from 40mph repeatedly that they just clocked out and went home :-D
I can't imagine riding those trails in wet mud conditions with a multitude of other bikers tearing it up. Actually I can't imagine riding those trails at all, but whatever, ha.
@@zacg2953 yes I like them very much, more powerful, no fade compared to the previous Sram Guides. But I have not tried other brands (but I've heard good stuff about Magura MT7)
Hey VanCan, great video. Its so much more humanising and relatable than watching pro shreddits where they only use the best take. It makes me want to challenge myself more and attempt races I failed at previously as well. Keep it up!
Awesome riding! I’m glad you were determined to complete that ride! I’m amateur at best, but it was great to see you doing some stuff I do losing it a little. I’m inspired! Best to you for the real race!!!
Hi I’ve been mountain biking for about a year now and yesterday I rode my first black diamond and a lot of my courage came from you thank you hi um the reason i say that i thank what thay do when i got nervous on a difficult part
@@deadskunks93 false courage? Were you in his shoes to say that? Some other's personal experiences wouldn't directly transfer to another person so I agree, it can get you killed but the indomitable human spirit is too great to stifle such fear.
I totally respect your decision to quit last year. More important than anything: live to ride another day. I had the same thing on my ride today, with a little dew making the roots slippery at Jack Brooks park, and my tires collecting a bit of thin surface mud and leaves, I did not feel I could safely attempt the black trails, so I called it quits after my warm up lap and came home.
Well done.. I was disappointed there was no crowd or a results scoreboard measured in years. Joking aside my money is on you completing it next year and fair play for knowing when to call it quits.
Maybe it's just my morning coffee that's too strong, but it's becoming clear to me that your «Ouh!»'s and «Ha-ha»'s are direct sound triggers from you receiving an adrenalin shot, and then from a follow-up endorphin release.
That wasn’t your rear brake, obviously, stop lying, that’s a man following you on another enduro bike, blowing one of those soccer airhorn things to root you on your “EWS 2019” run.
Jack McNamara, they are super annoying when wet or sometimes when they get hot. And, like I said earlier, even if they aren’t bad at the breaking department, they surely are not as good as Shimano four piston XTR or XT. That’s my opinion.
I am a tad overweight at 110 kg and my SRAM Guide 4-piston brakes slow my bike and me down on descents that my friends are afraid to get into. I am a HUGE fan of SRAM brakes (changed to metal pads, though).
Not to rain on your parade or anything, but I think it's a bit of a difference riding these trails leasurely and well rested in dry conditions, compared to race pace, sore body from the days of riding before and rain. Regardless, kudos for bringing yourself to the task.
Don't forget to like and subscribe or all you'll hear from now on is my brakes!
sounded like when someone wires the brake pedal switch to the car horn, lol Awesome riding though, what a crazy bunch of trails!

Sram- we do the screaming so you don't have to.
I'm like trade marking that, I think its great.
man those conditions look mint! If only we could have raced in that weather!
It was much, much better 😂
Love your vids man!
mint is the best word

Good ride dude. These SRAM brakes are ridiculous. I bet they were not contaminated.
My SRAM Codes make exactly the same noise when you break after they cooled down. But when they heat up again, no more noise 🤷♀️
@@Adwardok81 are they any good? are they just loud, or are they bad too?
@@Adwardok81 yeah, probably he got fading.

They were contaminated with SRAM.
I had an accident mountain biking two days ago so I've started watching your videos while my shoulder recovers. I wish I could do the stuff you can!
Great job - I knew you had the skills. My confidence really drops in the wet I can’t imagine riding those steep trails in last years conditions.
Thanks! 👍

7:50 Atleast the brakes screetching mixes well with the song :)
I’ve been following you for over a year now and I can tell you’ve gotten a lot faster and your fitness is better! Keep it up!

This is one epic ride

Looks like a lot of fun! Can’t wait til spring/summer in Europe. Awesome videos!
Last year: van can't
This year: van can
best comment
everyone saying its really early and im out here like it is 2 o clock in the afternoon in the netherlands
That’s actually insane!!
Haha maar echt. Tijdsverschil heh
Haha ja klopt
Damn, I wanted to see you ride that steep rooty section that would be just before the cut at 14:22. Great video!
Opening UA-cam and this is the first thing i see, perfect start to my day 🥳
Same Here
Perfect end for me down under
well done Nic , was scared for you all following the race last year , back on the horse in style now mate
These are far more relatable than compared to like Sam Pilgrimm. GJ making it bro! Those brakes though 😅
i love how we can barely hear anything but the music because of the back brake... but you can still hear it constantly in the background
You have support all the way from Tasmania! Another great video!! ❤️
I think it's awesome that you came back and killed it.
Great riding, gets the heart pumpin just watching it!
Redemption!!! Unfinished business is good to put behind you, now for 2021 and doing the race!
Music 6:30 sounds like Cris Sawyer transport tycoon game from 20 years back
Nice one Nick , next years race will be pretty bright between you all .
Good job completing. Easier when dry. : ) Still tougher than most of us could handle. Nice work.
lmao that music to drown out the loud brakes
Well done.. I was disappointed there was no crowd or a results scoreboard measured in years.
Joking aside my money is on you completing it next year and fair play for knowing when to call it quits.
Great video, very nice editing as well.
Can’t wait to see you at the EWS 100 next year!
i switch from sram to magura brakes. loving it so far
this guy needs way more subscribers! hope to be like this channel someday!
This was so sick! Great riding and amazing vid quality here. I think it's time to invest in a Gimbal!
No gimbal here. Hero 8 on my chin bar
VanCan wow! Chin bar is money for buttery footage. Thanks for the clarification.
awesome, I'd love to try some of the enduro courses around Van Isl. Ha see what my times look like ;)
How do you make the google maps trail images?
Damn, You know your early when it says 36 seconds. 🤟
noooo i had 38
You know your late when it says 38 minutes
wow no one cares wow
Kane Bell yea these comments are annoying but no need to be a dick about it
I had brakes that screamed like that....on my first Walmart bike! Lol 😂 But really, great vid. Great ride. I’m jealous. 👍
What kind of bike do you ride
Heck yeah cant wait for next year!
Dude if you don't mind me asking what are you strapped to? What are you riding? You are like a Pro doing some of that stuff?
Oi what’s the song (first one)
Congrats, you are a very skilled rider
what map view is that? that's sick
Which bike do u ride ?
That’s me at 9:11 in the blue shirt on the right
I'd love to join you if you are planning to do this type of ride again!
I think once a year might be enough lol
Are your wheels 29 and Ram L?
Hi there next year can you do the Whistler triple crown
Nice job man!
Mtb at 4:20 in the morning. Nice
continental-survivor for me it’s 12 in the morning
For me its 11 at night
Nice job on this!
Thanks!
Maybe it's just my morning coffee that's too strong, but it's becoming clear to me that your «Ouh!»'s and «Ha-ha»'s are direct sound triggers from you receiving an adrenalin shot, and then from a follow-up endorphin release.
Very Nice Video and Nice Riding, Also What Is The Name Of The Song at, 0:06 Thanks
I tough Whistler was a complex trail system, that google map view fucked me up even more aha
I feel like all the ews events are in terrible weather
Nice dude! 💪👊🤘☺️
Ceramic pro pads off discobrakes would stop that noise..😬
what is your bash guard??
One up
Pls tell me where that music came from in the begging of the song. I have been looking for it for the past month, for my videos.
"you know what, let's have some fun"
what kind of mudgard do you have there
I think its the new Fox that bolts onto the fork.
Nice redemption ride! Congratulations!
Perfect vid to watch after a day in chatel
Good thing about Jazz is that your brakes sound just as out of tune as all the other instruments
I saw a notification on YT and I thought oh it’s a comment or something on my vids but then I saw VANCAN ani I was like ohhhh yeeaaa
I was so sure that Whistler is on East side of north America 😂😂 I don't know why
Was wondering if they were going to use delayed fuse for the race course.
Intro song??
SRAM
1:02 song ?
awesome video
Make you're own Canadian UA-camr Enduro race
100% would watch.
That wasn’t your rear brake, obviously, stop lying, that’s a man following you on another enduro bike, blowing one of those soccer airhorn things to root you on your “EWS 2019” run.
Yea man
Besides the squealing brakes...how did the bike handle those trails?
Anyone else saw the squirrel at 9:50?
Those SRAM brakes, even if they aren’t that bad, they’re very annoying. That disc rotor shape never convinced me.
How are they worse than shimano

Stefan Schmitz, have you ever tried the new Shimano XTR M9120 or XT M8120 ?
@@ArturPereiraMTB nope, not yet
CEO of loud brakes..🤣
you should ride all of jaws. its gets a lot more wild lol
You know your brakes are hot when they be a squealing.
brakes be like
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sick ride! Always nice when the fitness doesn't let you down... BUT; it doesn't count if you don't have day one in your legs ;P
I rode the park all day the day before 🤷♂️
Nice!
Not to rain on your parade or anything, but I think it's a bit of a difference riding these trails leasurely and well rested in dry conditions, compared to race pace, sore body from the days of riding before and rain. Regardless, kudos for bringing yourself to the task.
Your brake sounds like Morse code
The intro has the Tavarish time lapse music
Why u up so late lol
Sram makes the noise purposely for the safety of bears, cougars, and other riders
i thought he was quitting youtube and i was like wwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttt
hi
nice
Lmao I bought a bike off a staff member from sundial
Hi vancan good morning hope you can spare me your old brakes thank you..
9:50 lol
think you miss alined your back brake
disclaimer: don't throw your bike from the lift to the hotel
for all the people that are talking trash about sram its just that his brakes are contaminated
No way did they suddenly get contaminated halfway down a run. Just crappy sram brakes as always.
Damn I was under 300 views damn
I will always have the 69th comment on this video
Can somebody turn off the siren please
