The gimbal simply needs to be better integrated into carbon frame kwads and durable. The durability is always the down fall. Hopefully some day i can build a quad with a durable gimble to give me additional flexibility.
Very cool. I would've liked to see the head movements (B-roll) synchronized to the flight footage so I can tell how much movement the head does! Very cool, seen some amazing bike chasing footage with this type of gimbal - but another axis to keep track of? Tough!
I think this device is more for cinematic needs and less for freestyle - of course if the action camera also moves with gimbal. For Cinematic it may be great. As usual, cool video!!
need multi-axis gimble and 2 cameras spaced apart about as far as a human's eyes (IPD adjustable), then those 2 camera images get sent to goggles with 2 separate screens (one for each eye). This would give you full range of motion and accurate sense of depth for the pinnacle of immersive flying. someone please do this.
This was great timing and I’d love to see more! I’m currently working on building out my 7” cinelifter with an up and down tilt as I shoot a lot of golf courses and getting some of the down angles I need can sometimes be a problem when I need a higher altitude shot. But I still like to keep the rig light… unlike Nurks crazy 8x with the ronin on top and 4-6s batteries!!!
Ooh. belt slipping when crashing is a neat idea. I'll have to try similar thing. I was planning to hav eaction camera on gimbal too but that would definitely burn the servo in any small bump.
Isn't there a camera angle option in betaflight which alters the axis coupling? I've never actually messed with it but if you could link it to the dynamic camera angle it might be easier to fly
I've done that cable tie roll over protector on tiny whoops for some time. My tip is to scrape the teeth off the tie with a sharp blade to reduce the thickness, weight and make it more springy
Im interested to see if you get used to the variable pitch of the camera. Maybe if ya fly it everyday for a week, will it become second nature. either way that would be perfect for a multi operator rescue drone
Only a 1 axis gimbal camera mount? ( pitch axis? ) Maybe some telemetry providing a frame of reference of the quadcopter's position in the goggles would make flying less disorienting ( similar to an attitude indicator flight instrument. ) .
Definitely would need some practice to adjust how you operate the sticks versus what you’re seeing. But doable for sure and ultimately better once proficient.
Obviously Mavic pro, mavic pro 2 and few other compatible drones had this perfected with first googles. Good stuff for looking around and that vr feeling but sucks for cinematic use and any precision flying :) I wonder if this here setup can be adapted to be useful after getting some time to be used to it. Some hid lines and cross in thats always in one place like dji done would be helpful I think :) good stuff anyway
You would need to figure out how to change head tracking inputs from the camera to actual flight controller and then fly the drone by looking around... then it would be awesome
Just put CADDX GM2 with Moonlight kit on 13 inch drone and move it with Goggle L head tracking. You do not need GM3 because your kwad has 600-900 deg yaw rate. Have fun.
@rotorriot how about 2 cameras, one for the pilot and one with a tracker but for the 4k go pro operator. Only the go pro moves around up and down and even can spin it side to side.
With DJI FPV I can change the angle using wheel on the controller, but it doesn't automatically track my head. I think it's only DJI Avata that tracks the head movements, and that's only when used with motion controller.
Yeah brother that was a great looking bando. I took a stroll around that bando on Google maps. These places have to be going in the not too distant future. The area around it don't look too bad and revitalization and investment will surely come soon. I hope I can make the drive to get to some of these spots before they are gone! Great vid as always bro. 🍺🍺 Hey I'm going to Florida in march, what are my chances of seeing any of you guys at the headquarters?@@LetsFlyRC
Thanks for the mention and using our Tally-Ho HeadTracker Shawn 👍 We do have durable 2-axis gimbal for micro cameras in case anyone is asking.
The idea of a gimbal for fpv on a drone has been tested and discarded many a time since the the inception of quads.
Yes,nothing new here
Yer it’s a rubbish idea, dji quads don’t sell
@@willysfpv7918 🤣🤣🤣
Literally every mainstream manufacturer of high-end drones uses gimbals on their cameras, brother.
The gimbal simply needs to be better integrated into carbon frame kwads and durable. The durability is always the down fall. Hopefully some day i can build a quad with a durable gimble to give me additional flexibility.
Thats definitely hard to get use to but the possibilities are wild

Shawn! You have ALL the best video ideas.
Yess! Head racing is awesome! Thanks guys!
Cool video. Thank you for sharing!

I liked the episode guys. Now I'm curious if a 2 axis of rotation was added to the head tracker?
Not in this episode. I have flown that way with some of my other project drones that haven’t made episodes, yet, and it is even more disorienting. 😂

Cool video you guys ! Detroit ? when the hell was that video taken ? I would have shown up ! lol i live close
cool idea!
nice cut at 9:50 ;)

AMAZING!
That would be perfect for cinematic chase footage!
That perch was nuts man!!!

What about to mount the headtracker on your foot instead of the head?

Josh from medlin drones is a really cool dude met him at rampage qnd his drones are awesome in person
Thanks!! I really appreciate that, looking forward to Rampage 2024
@@medlindrone same bro hope to see you there
Pretty cool!
Gotta keep your cool if a bee lands on ya 😂😅

That was awesome, AI and head track
Awesome video guys! I’ve always wanted a camera gimbal like this. The only problem for me is I Stevie Wonder a lot while flying.
so its the avata without motion control ?
I love this system
It is really fun to fly. Awkward at first.
You should mix the input from the head tracker with the gyro on the drone so that your head tilt is one to one with the world.
Only a 1 axis gimbal camera mount? ( pitch axis? ) Maybe some telemetry providing a frame of reference of the quadcopter's position in the goggles would make flying less disorienting ( similar to an attitude indicator flight instrument. ) .
What’s the name of the super tiny gimbal?
Awesome.
So so cool !!!

I think a gimball like this could be fun in conjunction with a DJI Avata and the motion controller 😅😊

Wire the receiver on the goggles to the remote sticks leaving just the throttle. Let’s see that flight. I’ll bet Bardwell could make it happen.
Woooooow.. Can't even link to Josh's project that Shawn used?

If the gimbal moved with the stick input instead of head tracking it seems like it would be better?
I fly my DJI Avata with the head tracking and it's an incredible experience. Hopefully this technology keeps improving.
FPV needs no gymbals. The drone IS the gymbal💪🏼 #freestyle
I liked this video

@@mariokotlar303 You must have a motion controller and DJI Goggles 2.
i already have 7inch drone with two axis, control by skyzone headtracker
Maybe this would work better with a 360 camera and no servos
Bring back bardwell

I do, usually. I don’t get notified, so, I actually have to actively read them, though. ;)
