Fun Fact Pizza Hut actually sponsored the Japanese release so the their go to food is pizza and its logo was there in the original but removed for international release/dubs.
Even then the product placement didn't need to be as widespread as it was, the animators thought the whole thing was hilarious so they put in way more than they needed to.
Green-hair-girl's name is _spelled_ "CC", but it's _pronounced_ "Sea-Two".
Its weird cause in the german version they actually pronounce it "CC" but with the English spelling of the letter "C" and not the German one? In other words, the german version has her name be " SeaSea" or "CiCi"
Jeremiah is the butt of many jokes this season but he became one of my favorite characters in season 2.
You know, a lot of people take notice of the CC in the war photo, but so many reactors miss the significance of it. The tank behind CC is a British Mark 1 tank from WORLD WAR ONE. Provided a similar timeline to the real world, that puts CC in a war that took place a hundred years ago. And she looked the same.
This isn't really covered in the anime so it's not a spoiler. More like extra info to kinda flush out the out some things.
Most of Clovis's prestige and power came from the arts, unlike his sister whose obvious very capable in the military. The painting indicates he kept Lelouch and Nunally in his memories. While it doesn't sound like they got along that well he likely viewed Lelouch as more a rival than an enemy when they younger. He took the up the viceroy position of Japan after being told his siblings had died there, indicating he may have been trying to find out what happened to them.
Also. Very clever of Suzaku to say he's in the engineering core so his friends don't worry. Although I doubt they have any idea what he's actually doing.
That peter parker joke is accurate . Suzaku's VA has voiced Spiderman before

I do like that ep 5 really nails in the duality between Suzaku and Lelouch, even if they have their moral action as differences, they both have the same goal.
Followed by ep 6 being real silly. Some of the school episodes just feel like a breather honestly and imo, is nice since some of the beefy episodes can feel pretty heavy

If there is one person who could, it would be Lelouch. The man pulls off some incredible plots even without Geass.
I mean, if powers like the Geass did not exist, he would get the job done without it. So its not like we can say he would be wrong without getting into spoiler territory.

He has an alias when he was manipulated by his father. His Geass was sealed and his name was Julius Kingsley. He was able to terrorize and brought fear to the entire E.U without even using his Geass.
That's one of the proof that Lelouch can do it even without the power. He has an alias that does it. But more brutal and relies more on emotion manipulation and media.
Regarding the girl who got geassed into drawing marks on the wall? I am fairly certain she's meant to add a mark once per day or something like that, this way he can come back whenever and see how many marks are on the wall and if it matches the number of days since the date he geassed her.
As for the duration, Lelouch's ability is more or less permanent unless the order given has a time limit or ending conditions built in. So for example his old order to have the maid play his recording over the phone? Once that task was completed the geass ended for her and she's immune to any future ones from him. But if he orders you to do something repeatedly or an open ended task with no clear "task complete" conditions, ala "Cook a meal for me" vs "Cook meals for me", the former? One meal. The latter? Yeah you'll be cooking whenever and wherever you are asked to cook a meal for him. And this is naturally just an example, you could replace Cook meals with "commit war crimes" or whatever he likes and you have just as much say in the matter from then on which is to say no real say at all. To say this power can be used for nightmare fuel is an understatement
The girl making tallies on the wall? She's going to keep doing that until the wall is destroyed or, possibly, the wall runs out of space for tally marks to be added to it. Which means she wont be able to move far from the school in the future since she always Has to commute to the school and make the mark, likewise she has to circumvent or overcome anyone trying to stop her from making a daily mark regardless of other obligations or who gets in the way. Which isn't to say she's liable to choose violence, more likely she'd do whatever will work from pleading, persuading or possibly bribing someone, but one way or another nothing matters more to her than making that tally once a day.

You have so many moments each character (major or minor) and it feels like they work pretty well together
Each episode you learn more about them not just moving the plot forward
The OST for this game is so good, so many pieces that are memorable and stick with you, (this anime has 5 openings, 3 in season 1 and 2 in season 2)

Episode 7 was my first Episode of Code Geass that I saw all those years ago in Adult Swim 😅 , it was a VERY interesting experience. Having been watching Death Note which was also airing at the time, I instantly fell in love with Code Geass.

Britannia is a nation of Darwinist. The strong rule while weak must follow. With the royal family being the model for the nation as a whole. We see the effects on their society during the cat chase. While lighthearted, captured the main opinion and attitude for the Britannias.

It is very funny that the Emperor's funeral speech for his son was a rant about his self serving might makes right ideology that only briefly mentioned his son to say that him dying was probably just because he wasn't good enough.
People actually really don’t like the cat episode. And I get it because it feels fillery, but it’s one of the few episodes that aren’t super intense and reminds you that they’re still just kids.

It’s a shame about Clovis we only got to see the bad side of him, wished we got to see the side of what Euphemia saw of him. Still a terrible person but he died so early on in the show that his character was never developed.
So people call her "C 2" or "see two" phonetically in the dub, and in the original Japanese they also call her "シー・ツー Shī Tsū" which is the pronunciation of English "C 2" in Japanese through the loan-word Katakana "alphabet". Her name is written as "C.C." though, it's just said that way because saying "[letter] [number]" for a string of the same initials or an acronym with multiple of the same letter in a row is semi-popular as trend (I'm not really sure how it started though).
There will be exactly 2 more Lighthearted episodes in your future LOL, happy you enjoyed the hijinks, instead of thinking(like most)that it's "out of place", levity is necessary in any story, regardless of how "Dark" it is. Can't wait for the next 2 😊.

Some tit bits to look out for:
Milly (the blond president) shows signs that she actually has feelings for Lelouch, this might be lost in the dub, since it is never stated directly.
She was most likely a fiance candidate for him before he was disowned and send to Japan.
Euphemia originally wanted to marry Lelouch, since her bigger sister admired his mother the two sisters would spend a lot of time with Lelouch and Nunally.
Thus they were very close to one another and since they were only half siblings and nobility this marriage wouldn't have been out of question.
Clovis was not as bad as people might think, the reason he killed the Japanese was not because he disliked them for being Japanese.
He hated them because from what he got told his brother and sister got send to Japan after the siblings got disowned to make peace with Japan since they wanted the Sakuradite mineral from Japan, but the Japanese supposedly killed Lelouch and Nunally which led to Britania invading Japan.
Clovis despite never beating Lelouch in about anything still loved his little brother and sister dearly and could never forgive the Japanese for killing his beloved siblings, which is why he even into adulthood still painted pictures of the siblings he lost but loved so dearly.
Still he wasn't too sure about their father either, which is why he secretly had his military scientist capture and experiment on C.C.
Jerimiah is also in a similar situation to Cornelia and Clovis only that he blames himself for something and thinks that what he is doing is a form of making amends for a past failure.

Well for the Japanese Suzaku might just be the most hated being there can be after all he robbed them of a proper defeat, creating the illusion in many that they lost only because they couldn't fight till the end.

I don't think it has ever been confirmed, but I think the dub calls her C2 to make her sound less human. Officially her name is C.C. but in a lot of English-speaking countries nicknames like C.J. or T.J. are pretty common so it wouldn't sound inhuman.
Clovis actually did love Lelouch and Nunally. Or at least he respected him. It was stated that he played Chess with him all the time and lost despite being older. It was said that Lelouch died in the invasion of Japan and Clovis blamed the Japanese for it. That's why he was so oppressive to the Japanese.
Shirley is a good person. She was willing to approach Suzaku and only stopped when Rivalz stopped her. She was also the first person to approach him after saving Lelouch. Just a sweet girl.
Honestly a fun pair of episodes. I'm sure some would call episode 6 filler, but I disagree.

Is he wrong about communism? What makes him evil is what he does with that. What he advocates for is along the lines of social darwinism. Let those with lower capacities die and become stepping stones for the advancement of those with greater capabilities. So no, I don't need to take a look at myself. I can recognize the truth in what he says while also realizing his chosen path is not the right one.
@@Mitheledh You're right, his factual statements aren't necessarily wrong (though given it's a propaganda speech for Britannia I'm not sure I'd trust his descriptions of the other countries in the world).
There's a reason I specifically said he wasn't saying anything reasonable, not that he was factually incorrect. Most unreasonable belief structures use particular facts about the world to justify themselves, and make their conclusions seem more plausible. But the facts themselves don't have much of anything to do with the ideology, since there's nothing about them in isolation that would lead to the conclusion they're being used to justify.
When I responded, I felt that your first comment gave him too much credit. With the context of your follow up reply, I agree with your perspective on him. His ideology is coherent, just deeply self serving and inhumane.

There is no "truth" in that statement, because you have to define freedom and equality for it to even mean anything. Equal outcome is impossible, but equal opportunity seems like a no brainer, and for equal opportunity you have to put restrictions on those who have a low enough morality to overachieve under capitalism.
If they are free, they are not equal. That is only true when freedom to abuse and exploit exists, a freedom most people don't want, and a freedom that makes the world a much worse place. So actually to achieve maximum freedom for most people, the majority has to collectively agree on restrictions for such a freedom, so they can be free from exploitation.
And if they are equal, they are not free. Only true for those who would abuse their freedom to take other people's freedom.
Basically, that statement means fuck all because maximum freedom for maximum amount of people can only be achieved by restricting the freedoms that shitty people would use to exploit good peaceful people.

You talked over more important information. Villetta talked about how people whose mechs were stolen had no memories. So Villetta is starting to piece things together. Nobody said that Geass wouldn't work on C2, she just asked if it would work on her.
C2 and CC are interchangeable. CC is the original name, and C2 is what they call her in the dub. Both names are used by the community and nobody really cares which is used. Personally, I like C2 more. It rolls off the tongue easier and it's what they use in the dub. It's also pronounced more like C2 in the sub, but it's meant to be CC.
C2 is a terrible person. She's just... so terrible (I'd use another word but who knows what UA-cam would do to my comment). So loving her really makes no sense. She waltzes in, makes herself at home, refuses to give you any info on who she is, refuses to cooperate, acts like she can do whatever she wants, has the tone of someone in a place of authority over others, and steals and uses your money without your permission. There's no reason to like her (at least not right now). But I guess that's how people are now. Terrible people get views. That's why those "real housewives" shows get so much cash.
The emperor's speech was incredible, and their view is understandable (not in a "it's good" way, but in a way that means you can understand what exactly they believe in).

In the beginning, С.С. had a simple wish. I'll try to hint - you saw that bullets don't kill her, right? 🤐
But in the future, as the plot progresses - her wish will change to a more "complex".
Which one - again I will hint, it is worth watching _carefully_ when they will tell about her past, both in the first season and in the second one
The infamous cat episode. When the UA-cam gods of anime with all over a million followers are doing a podcast one of them, usually Gigguk, will always bring up the point that Code Geass isn't perfect or that Code Geass isn't as good as you remember it was and will cite the cat episode as proof. This triggers me. Well Gigguk did you ever consider that the cat episode wasn't wrong but you were? This episode wasn't done as a filler but done deliberately except that you were not the target audience. Code Geass did this slice of school life episode for women and cat lovers like Megan knowing they would love it. Code Geass was cleverly trying to expand their fan base. Code Geass gives their horny high school male viewers fan service. Think of the slice of school life episodes as a little fan service to their female fans.
Euphemias introduction was way better in the Manga
