Ive been using the X-Soft Shidenkai for over 7 months now. I have some spots here and there but it still glides incredible. I tested out the Glorious mousepad and thought something was wrong, then i changed back to the Shidenkai and felt the massive difference it provides. Its unique, you cant ever go back to a normal cloth pad after using this. I cant recommend this enough, its a work of art.
is it silicone?
@@cqajagsaw Its a special mixture of foam with glass coating on top which has the ability to bend. Ive never had a surface anything like it before.

A good way to clean the Shiden Kai is also to use furniture polish! Minimizes wearing down of the glass and improves the glide :)

YES BT! I've been scouring the interwebs over the last couple of weeks, trynna figure out whether I should buy the Glorious Helios hard pad or the Shidenkai. It sure was hard to figure out which one would suit me better as there is like a couple of reviews on the Helios, and like one proper review of the Shidenkai, then some 6-year-old glide speed tests, rather strange. After watching this, I'll be ordering the Shidenkai, mid version. Imagine a pad with glide and performance of a hard pad and the softness of cloth seems impossible, yet it's a thing, I can't pass it up.
try getting an xsoft one if you want it to last. ive went through 2 shidenkai mids in the last 6 months, both of them the glass coating started to flake off but with my new xsoft one the coating is the same as the day i got it

@@kronos7678 if you use claw/fingertip grip your wrist wont sink into the pad unless you REALLY try to make it sink in. i actually have a glorious helios and the glide is a on par or a bit faster than the shidenkai although i don't use it since i prefer the feeling of the shidenkai over the helios.

I've settled on an Artisan Zero Mid XL, it plus my Skoll S is freaking amazing. It's so damn good to play on, and tracking, flicks, all of it is smooth and on point.
Could you do a review on productivity accessorises? (side scroll wheel, good ergonomics, ect) love the vid as always!

7:24 As a person who owns a Shidenkai FX, X-Soft for 6+ months now. I can say durability is an issue because anytime the mousepad is pressed on too hard little flakes of glass come up and mess with the feel of the mousepad as well as when ur moving your had around you can feel them getting stuck to your hand. This could be that I'm too rough for this mouse pad for it to work for me. Results may vary.
Click I just ordered both the Shidenkai FX X-Soft and the Zero FX Soft. Now after seeing how many people are saying that the glass particles are flaking off over time, I feel a bit worried haha. But still want to try it out nonetheless.

Protip: spray a little mist of water on top of the desk and then place the mousepad over it - It sticks and stay in place firmly.

The grip on the bottom of the mousepad will wear out... Keep doing that and your mousepad will slip with just a flick

I had one of the original artisan mousepads and it was great for a couple of years. It was like a hybrid cloth/hard pad, probably the medium variant or whatever. It stayed black and did not wear like other mousepads I have used.
A couple of things that bothered me were the frayed, non stitched edges, which has been fixed so all good there. The other thing was the mousepad would slide all over my desk which became extremely annoying. Happier now that I have a soft pad that doesn't move... The mousepad moving all over is the main reason I had to move on from it.
I play ESEA and I am rank A. I can attest that the hybrid pads can make your aim very strong in things like rifling, it makes spray control easier. The caveat is, less flick shots with awps, at least in my experience. Again, this is based on the older iteration, I have not tried the new versions.
Bit of a strange one. You're praising it highly, but it's already showing signs of wear? Would have been cool if you could have done a more in-depth comparison between the common mousepads and this as otherwise it just feels overpriced and unreliable from what you've said (doesn't pick up some sensors, already showing signs of wear, other mousepad doesn't have consistent accel on horizontal and vertical axis which is kind of important).
I have a shidenkai x-soft XL, as there is a glass coating on it using water to clean it can mess with its bonding to the underlying surface. To get the best longevity out of it you should not wash it, and only fold it so the face of the pad is facing outwards otherwise the surface can crack as it says on the box.

amazing review what softness did you buy for all three (xsoft - soft or mid?)
I have the FX Hayate OTSU XL (mid), and the FX Zero XL (xsoft).
I would say the zero feels like a regular mouse pad (it was made to mimic the QCK), it's really consistent, with a lot of stopping power. It's surface feels like butter compared to the Hayate, which feels a lot more rough to the touch, while being Slower than the Hayate, must have something to do with the weave they used. The xsoft thickness feels like MF memory foam, super comfy, prob the most satisfying mouse pad to rest your arm on period.
Even with all that being said I only used it for a few days before going back to the Hayate cause it had consistent spin out issues with the Finalmouse Air58, must have something to do with my arm concaving the mousepad (my best guess). Also after using a faster pad I didn't want to go back to a slower one. Speed feels soooo good.
Got my Shindenkai in the mail, now we wait :)
Q Brandon: Why are Hyperglides not good on the Shindenkai? you said it feels floaty like the sensor isn't picking up the mouse pad, so the Hyperglides raised the mouse up to high or?

Different skates affect the zero aswell for some weird reason.
Stock replacement Roccat skates i got (non rounded edges) were way way faster than my Corepads on the zero, and low speed flicking were slower than faster flicks/movements.
But then again from talking to other owners, thats a feature i guess.
the glass one is very nice, only for esports teams/ high payed people.
you'll need to replace quite often.

If your artisan mousepad slips around your desk, pour a few drops of water on the base and spread it evenly, it will stick like glue and the stickyness is permanent (until the mousepad is lifted from the desk and base left to dry).

Zowie mice work fine on my Shidenkai mousepad, and Artisan mousepads all stick to my desk incredibly well. Try spreading just a little bit of water under it to make it stick better
Thanks to you, I now know that there is a brand dedicated to making the highest quality mousepads. I'll probably get the Hayate Otsu and Zero and compare them to my impulse bought Razer Goliathus Control mat. I subbed btw, you have a _ｃｈｉｌｌ ｖｉｂｅ._

I have a Hayate otsu mid, Shindenkai soft and Zero x soft. They are all great but the Zero is the best for FPS imo, It is just perfect for micro-adjustments so if you like sniping as Widowmaker for example give it a try.

I own an artisan shidenkai FX x-soft XL. The x-soft varient allows for more stopping power as you can adjust your pressure. I would only really recommend this for claw and fingertip players tho. This mouse pad is seriously insane tho, if you want to see what its capable of watch a player called Huddled.

I wish they had like a store for gaming. Where you could try different mice and mousepads so you can choose the best one for you. Ik it takes time to get to like something. Something you think is good at first might not bet later. But it's better than spending a lot of money and then knowing what it's like.

You can go for a g703, g-pro is just a bit smaller and lighter with a longer batterie. But same performances
Shidenkai + GPW stock skates is the best combo, especially after they've worn in. Hopefully you will review the Zero too...only Artisan pad i dont have.

If you rub down the rubber base with a wet cloth it will stick to a surface like glue. Had the same problem.

So, a couple of weeks ago I got both the Hayate Otsu in Soft, and Shidenkai in Mid. I noticed that the backs on these pads were different, with the Hayate Otsu kind of having an opaque coating/film that makes it more sticky and grippier on the desk (whereas the Shidenkai just has that shiny bare foam backing). Is that the same with yours as well? From the looks of it at 2:45, that seems to be the case, but I just wanted to make sure.
Are those marks/indentations on the Shidenkai something to worry about? Are they permanent or am I just seeing it differently from the video? I am talking about the pink one.
