NEW UPDATE: Multiple people are reporting ''RCE/RAT'' (not confirmed what it is exactly) exploits on MWR in the H2M discord. Two people got their PC externally shut down after getting an ''RCE'' popup in-game. As far as we are aware, your files can't be modified and they can't download anything on your pc, but this is not safe. Please play the H1M client if you want to be absolutely safe.

there is some guy called meow that is pretending to rce people and leak people's ips in chat wenether he kill anyone but rce exploits actually doesn't exist in mwr (all of them have been patched) so it's really a false alarm

apparently they can RCE you through dedicated servers as well. They target the server which then sends stuff back to the clients. Which means H2M, H1M and any other clients that are "safe" are not actually safe.
@@iiMXRSE I'm not sure if its true or not. But i was able to chat with one of the guys doing the RCE attacks and he told me that he got an RCE working on h2m and H1. As well as other clients with dedicated servers. He also said the attacks on MWR were not meant to harm anyone but were a proof of concept. But that he gave it to one of his friends that could be using it to harm people. I personally would rather stay on the safe side and not play any CoD, even those with dedicated servers.

@@iiMXRSE The reports are probably from people downloading malicious H2M leaks. There are definitely people out there putting malware in the leaks and redistributing the mod, and that's how they're getting hacked. Just a guess but this makes more sense to me.

It depends on the type of RAT/RCE. Sometimes you just get booted off, sometimes your pc will get shut down and everything in between. If it's serious tho, you'll know, trust me.

You doing the exploit or know someone doing it? Noticed there's a fair bit of comments like this defending/downplaying the exploit. RCE, it's in the name, Remote Code Execution. You're literally running code externally onto someone elses machine bypassing levels of security/firewall without permission. Allowing the hijacker to install malware/spyware THROUGH that executed code. It depends on the "hacker" and what kind of malware/spyware they execute, whether the target's PC will detect it with Win Defender or some 3rd party anti-virus kit or whether it's something that can be easily removed from the system and noticed. There are levels to this, and when an RCE exists on a game, I will literally not touch that game until it's fixed. For you to claim it's safe shows me you either don't care about your data/information or you're in on it, 1 of them is true and I'm tryna figure out which one.

H2M is different than any mod because there's an actual grind to it. There is no unlock all, you have to actually play to progress, so it'll have more of a new cod feel
I had this happen to me today the guys in game name was meow and he froze the lobby ran around killing everyone then was spamming two ips, your exact public ip and private network ip, it happened to me twice before i did a fresh reset of my pc, so this is a problem and now im waiting for h2m

I’ve been playing just now and nothing happened. There seems to be a troll going around with a custom map that says get RCED but I’ve seen a lot of UA-camrs and people on twitch playing and no reports on RCE. I’ve also heard that RCE got fixed in MWR

People use the case of the times they tore down mods because most of them didn't require a legitimate copy of the game and/or provided an illegitimate copy of the game to the 'customer'. But in this case, I can see it being possible that Activision will force H2M to close down by issuing a cease and desist. After all, there is so much fine print when it comes to Cod games because of the teams of lawyers/writers they hire. Think about it, H2M is providing MW2 multiplayer content through MWR, they've accessed files that weren't meant to be accessed and imported them into multiplayer. They've also altered files and added more stuff into the game, changing how the game is played even if it is only UI/design improvements. They've touched/altered original code, even if that's in good faith by fixing bugs. Servers will not be official servers but 3rd party servers. Most responsible 3rd party server providers wont touch H2M with a barge pole in the fear that activision will come after them. Maybe some of these claims are illegitimate, but there is a lot you could go for when you read the fine print. Legally, Activision has every right to pull H2M down and they absolutely have the resources. Activision might play the long game and pull them down after a few months, most people by that point will have purchased MWR on steam and have owned it for longer than a week as well has more than 2 hours playtime. If you don't know what I'm referencing, that is Steam's refund policy, Activision wont want any refunds now will they?
