I think that the term “low cost airline” is overused. A lot of “low cost airlines” charge the same fares or very little less than the normal airlines. Low cost airlines usually have less cabin service too.
@@staleonion2520 Everything in life evolves my friend. Jetblue will be a completely different airline when Covid is over. JetBlue along with Southwest came into the pandemic with cash above 3 billion $$. In this business, cash is King. All the big airlines are trying to block Jetblue from entering the premium translantic market, because they know that there will be some serious competition.
I flew in a suite in the current Mint cabin back in August and it was a phenomenal experience in every conceivable way. I can't even imagine how fantastic these seats will be!!
@@orenalairlines6101 I don’t think you understand the true meaning behind “low cost airline”. Having “bad” seats and no “first class” doesn’t determine if a carrier is low cost. It really depends on the airline and their products, but many do offer two separate classes such as; economy and premium economy, which I guess you can consider “first class”. Norwegian is a low cost carrier and still had fairly comfortable seats, with a premium and economy class seats. Well, at least their 787s did. For a carrier to be considered “low cost”, they would have to offer low fares on high demand routes (especially long-haul flights), which are extremely competitive, but still able to offer relatively low prices, in comparison to other carriers. JetBlue offers lower fares, but isn’t exactly considered “low cost”, so you are correct to some extent.
This looks amazing! Especially combined with the new Airspace interior. Never thought JetBlue would make such an amazing and game-changing business class product. I was speechless when I first saw it. JetBlue is literally on fire!
welcome to the future of the sector. It's a do or die context within the pandemic. You either offer something like JetBlue is offering with the Mint or bust. Long range aircrafts are being more and more retired and falling to pieces at Death Valley. Short to medium range aircrafts like this A321 are the solution to airlines to stay alive and they will have to charge more to cover all the financial damage done by the pandemic. Good job JB !
I'm glad. I am an aviation enthusiast, but the airline industry has been working overtime to beat the love I have for flying right out of me. These fat cats were "bailed out" w/ the Cares Act and have nothing to show for it. Now they've got a pilot shortage bc these greedy demons fired everyone instead of furloughing them, like normal, rational countries that don't hate their citizens do. I'm grateful for them getting rid of change/cancel fees, though. I used to trust Norwegian Air, but they've changed their reward program, so now I'm stuck with nearly 800euros in flight credit I can't use to book a whole flight. But I can get an extra luggage onboard! What a joke. If JetBlue expands their fleet into continental Europe, it's a WRAP. People are tired of terrible, shitty airlines at ridiculous prices.
From what I’ve read and seen, it seems like the entire cabin will be in the mint layout, which would be exclusive to the transatlantic routes to Europe. If this is true, it’s a win-win for everyone.
Jetblue is a great airline in the United States and they recently started service to London England, San Antonio Texas, and Kansas City Missouri. I'm hoping Jetblue starts service to Omaha Nebraska and Pensacola Florida.
As a European used to flying easyjet and Ryanair (household LCCs here)...y'all seriously offering a better hard product than 99% of full service airlines (only exception I can think of being Turkish? Their business class on narrowbodies is amazing)

@Shane Pry Yes I believe so. These types of mint seats are only found in select planes with a full buisness class cabin. Seeing as they are in a 1-1 configuration, it would be stupid to only have them at the front of the plane, as there would only be room for like 10 or so.
This is honestly really amazing and it looks SOOO great. I have always wanted to fly on Mint and I really want to with this. In addition, they are really going to succeed with routes from the United States to the UK. This is because JetBlue's pricing is slightly better compared to other British carriers and for businessmen and other passengers, they will opt for this since it is less dated and we are used to it.

So now JetBlue serves both Heathrow and Gatwick; possible LCY flights in the future (especially with Dublin now an option for stops [previous transatlantic flights from LCY needed to stop in Ireland])?

Mosaic member here and I’ll have to say the throne seats along with the excellent food options are already hard to beat! Lastly the transcontinental flights for the new Mint suits are cheapest $648 with a $198 upcharge to get the row 1. I was lucky to get those rates because it seems they bump it up to over $1100 after a few seats are sold. I’m assuming it would probably be close to $1000 for their JFK-Heathrow routes and that’s one way.
Definitely not on the A220. It should be available on all A321LRs and (in the future) XLRs, and possibly on select A321neos.
