Moving on from Charles was destined to happen. The contract business will hold its on its thriving. As for the bales I suggest replacing them. It’s not going to change anything. However it’s the right thing to do. And that was your plan anyway. Glad you are back. Wonderful series.
If I'm not mistaken, I do believe that you dropped like a dozen bales in Charle's shed when you first got hired by said man. That was before he even had the cows delivered.
As to the other property, it doesn't come with any farmland and is kind in an out of the way place, I would lean towards no, especially since your current place is a bit more central to the area, and you can always make a few extra quid by mowing and bailing up the grass if you get in a pinch. Either way, definitely keep the field with sheds.
I'd say Yes to buying the southern plot and clearing out the rubble. It looks like it'd be a great fit for a contractor yard with storage and easy access. Either that or you'd have to look at more buildings on your existing plot but better to keep that for the grass it can produce. Bit unfortunate with Charles but he seemed a bit peculiar, hopefully on to better things now
FSG you should, in my opinion, still mow the yard for hay bales and give them to Charles (so he can see what mistake he made and you can show your good side still).. and you should expand your old yard and not buy this new small yard, it is way to small for your big machinery...
I think it was obvious Charles was a problem from the start, if he is so well established, and well known why a local contractor or employees were never involved seems to say a lot. He's got a new motor out of it anyway, question ow is does Davy go over to Home Farm to look after the cows and part ways with FSG?
Well, about Charles, let me cite John Cleese: "Good riddance to him, the freeloading bastard! I hope he fries." Collect your stuff and get back to your successful contracting business. Now, about your dilemma: your current yard is more central, but it's a bit crowded. If you don't want to build more sheds and lose all your grass, that new plot could be a good place to store your machinery, but it's soo far away... you'll lose a lot of time driving around... I think you should pass for now. Anyway, congratulations on the series and welcome back.
I honestly believe that Charles knew about the damage to his vehicle. Taking the bales without letting him know the circumstances was the straw that broke the camels back. I warned you there would be consequences for not telling him. As for the bales, replace them. It is just to show that you had good intentions to replace them. I am torn about that southern piece of property. Some other comments suggest it is out of the way and can be a bit of a trip when trying to get to work. I think you should keep your original field no matter what. It is in a fantastic location being in the middle of the map. The southern property could always be bought as a fixer upper through the winter months when you are not doing much. I am loving this contractor series. Keep up the fantastic work!
I am a real life property investor. This a great opportunity to invest in more land. Keep your current land, it is guaranteed profit with the fields. Only keep equipment on this land to keep it running. Purchase the new land for contract business vehicle storage. This land is close to town, which will only drive up it's value. Of course, this means a need to purchase more equipment to sustain both properties. Since your hired hand is good with animals, here is another investment opportunity. Yes, hiring another hand or two is very smart. Great job, FSG
I think you should keep the current yard. Either focus on developing it, or use both. The other property is a bit out of the way, doesn’t have quite the visible presence of the original. And good riddance to Charles. Great series!
Charles can definitely awa and boil his heed now! On the farm yard, logistics wise I’m not sure it’s the best place on the map to be and I think a couple more sheds built on the existing field could work.
It is disappointing that it had to end on a bad note with Charles. In hindsight, which is always 20/20, would have been just as easy to buy some bales from the animal dealer to finish the contract. But I get it for narrative purposes😅there was always going to be a bad ending with Charles. I think it would be worth is to keep both properties and 'rent' out the original yard and keep the field for emergency hay/silage bales. Plus the horses won't have anywhere to live🤗
Buy the new place, keep the old place as well as you are getting too much equipment for just one location to be able to store it without having it stacked in front of each other.
I agree with others. Replace the bales as it is the right thing to do. I say, stick to where you are and thrive. Charles is a cantankerous old fool. I bet there is a whole lot of dirt on him that will come out soon.
Definitely be better without Charles. Get the new farm bought, expand the contracting business and I would even like to see you have your own animals. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻
Those bales were yours anyway FSG, when you took on the job he had 12 of yours from the contract. If he questions your honesty again, show him episode 13 😁. If that were me, I would take great pleasure in sending him an invoice for the balance.
Another great episode!! For me that plot is not that practical. I tried to start a contracting business there…once I started to get larger equipment the entrance to the main road is a pig! It just became a pain to access. If I was you, I would look to develop the area you have with some more buildings etc….or save up for Plot 34. I think that one is a great place to expand your business. Nice farm set-up, loads of client fields behind it and excellent access. Its just down the lane from where Davey shed the bales
Buy the new property and return the bales with an Apology , as you should always ask first , it will be worth it later ,even if he still doesn't believe you. 😊
Keep the original yard and expand it FSG. There is alot of space for expansion there. The sheds at the yard for sale look a bit small and will limit the expansion of your contracting fleet
Well, you should have asked first but on the other hand you did share some bales with him when he hired you, so fair’s fair. However, if that’s how he wants to play it, mow your field, give him 12 haybales and if he ever calls you again don’t answer. Also, don’t buy that small yard unless you want to use it as overflow for bales and product, which you really shouldn’t sell when they’re in season. Loving the series, welcome back!
Id say no to that small yard looks a bit tight.........go further afield and go to the furthest south west of the map there's a decent contractors yard down there for your bigger tractors etc..haha
I had something similar happen on a different map. I cut enough bales to clear all three contracts off one field, but I hadn’t actually cut the other two fields. It actually ended up pushing one contract into a negative completion state and now that field permanently is at Not a Number completion. I had to abandon the contract, but I got to keep the bales. I guess the way to clear it might be to buy the field and sell it back?
Great episode FSG Charles is a typical stuck up owner I would but the farm then buy his farm and kick him out on his arse 🤣🤣 and keep up with the great content as always 👏👏👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Don’t beats yourself mate, you should asked him about bales but way of his attitude are real ass. If the bales at Home Farm belongs you, go there and takes your bales back. The yard themself need heavy development as it definitely not large equipment friendly, maybe you buy that land and kept old farm while new land is developing and sell old farm
To be fair to Charles, he's well within his right to fire you. You did steal the bales. You should have asked Charles first as they were his bales. I would be very cheesed off if I found out that my worker had taken several bales to sell for himself without asking too.
25 Episodes in and I'm still loving this series! It's a shame that Charles flipped out over the bales, but I guess that's for the better. Now you have more time and flexibility to focus on your contracting business, which I hear needs an extra set of hands from time to time. Seeing as how I (Wes) am in the area (even more so if you buy that property on the South end of the map - DO IT), I'd love the opportunity to be a hired hand in your series when you need it. I'm fexible and well versed with the larger equipment (Think Canadian Prairies where I'm from), but the tighter constraints of UK agriculture is quite fun and I've got an education in agonomy, so I can help you maximize your personal crops too if you'd like.
I would say leave charkes and just say that youve left somw of your bales in the stack and replace the ones you borrowed just to rub it un so he cant use it against you plus id leave the yard and build a new shed or building on your land
Why you don't go to the other farms and be one of they farm managers? And try to find out more about charles, what does the other farmers think about him? Or buy a farm your self? I would first go to elmcroft farm, you did the grass in field 31 for that farmer, meaby he can tell you more...
Take all your equipment from charles by the way were the bales not youres at the start wile Charles was wateing to get feed delivered to his yard , f em you better off whitout him but keep davy on your paylist
Nice video as always FSG. The best thing that you are no longer with Charles. I would consider a property near your contractor's yard, having all the implements and tractors in a central location. Keep it up FSG
A fresh start in the new plot would be fantastic, great advertising spot for the business on the main road as you enter/leave the area (lets see some of them amazing signs). I'm petty, I'd box Charles Range Rover in with the returned bales but best keeping it professional in the long run as it looks like his voice is heard around the area by others.
What do you all think farming sim is missing personally I would love to see other farmers working In other fields think that would be an amazing addition
that's the first time I've seen a weeder work in fs22, I tried one once and it didn't do anything, perhaps because the weeds weren't established enough yet or something but seeing one work, I'm going to try again sometime
@@neilporter3286 correct, though I was just referring to the "weeders" part, since the game differentiates weeders vs hoes. Of course, they do mostly the same thing, but at different stages (I guess, thinking about it, you could only use a hoe, since it should remove all weeds from medium stage and below).
@@BurcoGames, I only have a hoe as it seems like you get medium weeds so quickly that a weeder is of little use. Though the huge Horsch weeder is tempting for use on weeding contracts…
@@neilporter3286 yeah, I never really play with weeds even turned on, just a little too much micro-managing for me personally. But I agree, that big Horsch weeder could be my turning point for turning weeds back on lol
You definitely need your own space now. This space has a lot of great space for your equipment, so I think it's worth buying. Is cluttered yes, some tidying on it has a lot of potential
first cut and bale your grass to rewpay the stolen bales.technically you did steal the bales from your boss.you should have asked him before you loaded the bales and maybe he would not have fired you.
you did take his bales.. without asking. i cant really blame him for firing you, even if you intended to replace them. sort of like the issue with the range rover, frankly if this was real life youve acted like quite a scumbag
Keep the old place FSG! You don't know what Charles is going to do and if he has the power he could ruin you if you buy the new place, so my advice is don't do it!
Keep the old yard. Return Charles' bales as your a man of your word! Dont buy the new yard, use that cash to buy new equip so you can do more contracts, and to pay for a new fieldhand.
I think you should give charles back the bales you used so he can't say anything about them not being replaced but just drop them in his driveway to block the entrance seeing as he said you're not allowed on his property again lol in regards to buying the new farm i think it would be better to buy one of the adjacent fields to your original farm then put more sheds on it if needed due to it having a more central location giving better chance to advertise your business to passers-by
It doesn't matter to me what you do cuz you don't own a semi to help with the move should you choose that route, nor to help with all the hauling you're currently doing. 😉

Buy the new place, move the contracting business to there and set up some animals of your own at the old plot. Like a few sheep and dairy cows.

Technically you did take without asking or informing Charles first. Would have been an entirely different conversation for sure.
I think you should keep the current yard. Either focus on developing it, or use both. The other property is a bit out of the way, doesn’t have quite the visible presence of the original. And good riddance to Charles. Great series!
