So to the guys who changed the oil but still hear that noise, you will need to flush the differential at least 3 times to get all that contaminated oil out. You will notice in the video he actually squirted some extra diff fluid in there to flush it (Which is probably what his CRV needed) So give that a shot. If it's beyond that, then you may already have a bad diff.
Okay so if its making like a brup brudrup noise when driving straight is it bad I have a gen 1 2000 AWD CRV having this sound. Really bad. My ball joint dropped out and then this sound started
Gonna try this asap! I brought it to the garage to fix all liquids and it was still there, i changed the dif rubber. But did not check the metal piece. I still have the noise! hopefully not for long! I have an heavy subwoofer in the back so the lean over from the car is even worse😂🙌
Thanks!
Loving them multi camera angles... you should’ve gotten 3 bottles and do a flush, like that you clean it out completely of all that old and burned out fluid
Need to change mine also for my Subaru. Thanks for recommending the quart pump!
Braaap MTB yes ka braaap quick and easy maintenance lng pala yung deferential Recommend pala ng Car ko is Change every 20k Miles
Excellent video, especially with the car in motion, with your second camera! Amazing for your young age, Mark you do have a career in UA-cam automotive. Another Chris Fix, or the thecarguy!
I'm glad you enjoyed my Video. Yes I love watching chairs fix and eric
I read on a forum if you still have the noise after changing it the first time to drive it for a few days and change again. May take a few times
yo mark..thanks so freaking much on posting this helpful video...this is going to help me so much💨👍 keep doing more video on simple repairs on the honda crv
I'm glad I could help! Maybe no more crv song thinking to trade my c to a mini van family is getting bigger
This is a helpful video for me, thank you for sharing!
Great job with the video! Awesome!
Thanks a lot!
Brooo change your motor mounts. Look at your exhaust moving!!! You need torque mounts baaaaaaad. Those two front mounts on the trans and by the A/C compressor mount are CRUCIAL. ESPECIALLY to an AWD car with a driveshaft.
Also, the reason you open up your fill plug first is two reasons: 1. It helps let the fluid out smoothly by giving the case a breathing point and 2. More importantly you need to make sure you can get the fill plug out so you can put new fluid back in. If you drain your fluid and you can't re-fill it then you're stuck. You can't drive without the fluid, you will absolutely destroy the differential.
Good tutorial though with great camera angles, man. Keep it up!
awesome bro tnx for your response you're right need to change my motor mounts been very busy tho
Good video man
Your video sir is very resourceful 👍😊
wow salamat po ! ill try to share kong anu makaka tulong
I would do it in my car thanks man
have anyone try to install the spacer on rear wheel only on CRV rd1,Did that cause any problem or damaged to the differential work due to drive? I am planning to install a pair of 15mm spacer on my CRV rd1 so.
Great video. You open fill port first is because you can't fill it if you can't open it even if you drane plug opens :)
Good to know!
nice vids sir
salamat!!
THANK YOU MARK!' THAT WAS A BIG HELP INFORMATION YOU'VE SHARE' NOW I GOT THE IDEA HOW TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM ON MY CRV!' MINE WAS STOLEN' BY SCAM MECHANIC I USE TO GO'...NOW I CAN DO IT MY SELF'...🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍
thankyou good video
You're welcome
Looks like you need engine mounts just from how much that exhaust is moving
Does this applies to gen2 2002 crv?
2 quarts
I see t the differential dampened is lose is time to change bro..Thanks for the video ..
salamat
Great job ..question..you fixed the rear differential ..are there 2 more in the front? Thankyou for sharring
Just the rear no front
Hi did that noyse gone straight away or you done couple of miles
Do I have to lift the rear end of the car in order to do this? Thank you.
Thx pare for the vid. I know it's been a couple years but just wondering was it pretty pricey for the fluids from the Honda dealership? kuz I just bought it on Amazon for like $15qt but won't arrive in a couple days and I need it now. Just wondering.
I might be probably cheaper at amat
@@MarkCocson thx bro
I have a 2000 Honda CRV and I can hear like a humming noise from The Rear end what can it be if you can please Help me
Is there a reason why you have to remove the top one first?? Im doing my diff fluid change now and I feel like screwed up by doing the bottom one first lol
Not a big deal others told me just so the gets in first before flushing more pressure
I never made this change either (yet) but from other videos I've watched, it's also to make sure that you CAN undo the filler bolt. Because sometimes if it's rusted / damaged you might not be able to get it open easily, and if you already drained the old fluid out of your diff or transmission....well you're a bit stuck lol.
I guess the idea is that at least if you find out early that you can't undo the filler bolt, you'll still be able to drive it to a friends or mechanics or the auto shop to get some help with it.
Great video, thanks fella!
So did your car stop making that noise bro? Mine does the same. I'm asking you now since its been over a year since you changed it. Thank you good video bro and your camera views are really good.
Not at all
@@MarkCocson Your car still makes the noise?????
i bet that exaust is flexing and rubbing the subframe up front near the cat like mine was. good luck, makes a weird noise like you said when turning..
Alguien q tenga en venta la caja de cambios del honda crv 1998 mecanico
their lot of clutch pack in the rear diff deff need to chage the flude
yes some do it twice to flush
Where do you get the cup holder on the ac vent?
rafael rodriguez got it form Japanese store at down town SF
@@MarkCocson damn oh well i will search pn ebay
@@MarkCocson do you have the part number for it?
I have the exact same noise. And when I changed it. It didn’t fix. Can someone help me please. And also I’ve subscribed
It's probably been some time but I did see the fix. You have to flush it 3 times. If you simply changed the oil but didnt flush it, then you still have contaminated oil in there.
Now you just need some motor mounts because I can see your exhaust move a lot when your car shifts gears
yes did already thanks
Think I'm having the same issue. When I let go gas in my 5 speed 99 crv 4wd, I get that sound too but it seems like it's coming from between the driver and passenger seat. Eh
worth to try i hope i works
@@MarkCocson found out it was my exhausting hiting onto the bottom when vibration. Changed all the exhaust insulators and got better. Still do when bad vibration because the way they design the catylic converter connecter in the front seems to have some play to it. Wish honda made it solid through their pipes. Thanks for reply.
P.s. had to cut the bolt out from my dampener to diff mount because the bolt seized in it. Was such a a bitch. Ended up buying for part haha...good experience.
I don't think you're exhaust is supposed to move around that much you might want to check on that
yes my motor mount was busted
I have a automatic and mine never came with one but I get a weird sound when turning, has anyone ever put this on a automatic? Why would the manual come with it but not the auto?
Mine does not have that damper
No need to jack the car up right? Thanks
yes no need
Put your seat belt on man!
thanks i was just around my block
Is your car a manual or automatic? I don't think the damper is for the automatics from factory, but I've heard people still installing them anyway. I have an automatic and there is no evidence of it ever having one whatsoever.
5 speed manual
How much did Honda charge you for each bottle?
8 bucks
German torque every bolt; nice lol.
Lol had to do it i don't have a torque rench
That rear diff dampener is useless....no way am i paying $100 For that POS lmao. I haven't had one on my 99 crv in 3yrs and it drives totally fine.
TheShangralaaaa17 that's good for you it's just me getting annoyed with the sound
Honda would not put it on the vehicle if it was not necessary
Its totally unnecessary and not worth the price of replacing
Mines broken now and with new exhaust insulators, the vibration of the car still make my exhaust hit the body somstimes. So maybe with it replace the car shouldn't vibrate that much. I'll have to find out!
I took mine to honda and they removed the diff dampener, said it was useless.
