I was just at the local salvage yard trying to get a good diff mount off an Element to replace the bad one on mine. I struggled to get the axles out of the way enough to get the differential down. Good thing though because I didn’t have a jack with me to hold the differential after getting it loose. After seeing you do it without a jack I’m glad to have to go back another day for it lol but this video should help me with my job. Thanks for uploading! New subscriber

My man, you're freaking inspiring. Cause i do all the same type of stuff on the ground and its hard. And im not getting a lift anytime soon. I was looking at my differential and saw those bushings were exploded i was like damn thats not gonna be fun but i wanna drop a new engine in it so gonna go for it eventually.

Yeah it's hard on me working on the ground it's my only option. I will be posting videos again soon I need to replace my transmission.

Good work! It's not much fun working under jack stands. I like the way you checked all the fasteners to make sure they were tight,

Great Video! Very helpful. One question/ comment is that I believe from the manual and looking at ordering the parts online that the 2nd "bushing/ rubber disc" goes on top of the mount, not under the bushing. I could definitely be wrong, but thats what it looks like to me.

How are the rear bushings holding up. Where did you purchase them.

Are these genuine Honda bushings? Or aftermarket? Haven’t been able to find aftermarket ones for it, and the crv ones seem to be different

I need to do: did you do this just to do it?
I had no idea they were a service part.
And did you take both wheels off to remove the upper control arms connection to the knuckle to get the axles? Or did you remove only one control arm then remove the differential from that side first, and then pull it from the other axle?

I had to replace the bad brushes because the diff was moving a lot. I didn't have to remove the wheels, but it was easier to remove the wheels to remove the upper control arm.

Can you replace just the bushings without pulling the whole diff?

Im not sure if you have found an answer to your question but there is a write up on Crv owners club it was posted in 2011. He said just unbolt the driveline from the differential and leave the axle shafts in, lower the differential just enough to get to the top bolts holding the bracket to the differential, remove those 2 bolts and remove the bracket replace the bushings and reinstall. I am about to try that method tomorrow and I will let you know how it goes.

@@ByrdsRebuildsyou can definitely do it without removing the the differential, cv axles or driveline, I just got done doing it this morning. Support the differential, remove the bracket to frame bolts and the rear bracket bolts, lower it about 6 inches reach in and remove the bracket to differential mounting bolts and pull the whole mounting plate out. I’m not gonna lie those bushings are kinda tough to remove even with a air hammer but the new set pops in with 1 or 2 hits with a 4lb hammer and a block of wood.

My 2007 element needs that whole assembly replaced, not looking forward to it. I’m one of those unlucky chaps that lives in the rust belt up in Ohio.
