I really like how well you explain the significance of having air suspension included as an option. Your detailed analysis, pros and cons, etc (without the use of sarcasm) makes it worthwhile to watch your channel. Well done.
Great review. If I win the lottery I might consider one. Seriously though, your reviews are so good for someone that is considering the vehicle you are reviewing. Great channel!
Did you manage to try a Q5 with massage? Just wondering if it’s like the rubbish massage on like a Passat for Example? Or more like the good one on a xc60?
Hey Tom, (fellow wagon enthusiast) any chance of you getting behind the wheel of an A4 Avant? Loved your review on the 330i Touring, would love to know how they compare. The RS6 is my dream car but just a little bit out of reach.
Hi Tom, With the Q5 and the design of the rear lights and tail gate, my question is at night time and the head and tail lights are on and you are on the side of the road and you open up the tail gate, the rear opens up, for safety, what is there for traffic approaching from a distance that will warn the driver there is a car ahead? just a thought you might want to tell your viewers...cheers!.... I love your reviews, keep up the great work!🍻.
Thank you for a very comprehensive review. I was saddened to see Audi have gone for the “iPad” popping out of the dash rather than the modern trend (even the Tiguan has) of a large touch screen that blends into the dash. Such an aesthetic design, except for the “iPad”. For me it is a deal breaker.
I don‘t know if I understood it correctly but there is an option for having heated seats in the rear although I believe it‘s not compatible with all seat materials.
I have a 2018 Q5 and love the rotary/switch based MMI. I can select a variety of functions without having to take my eyes off the road. I think Audi made a big mistake here, giving into fads and making things touch-screen based.
Hi Tom, With the air suspension added, besides been more comfortable isn't there a button in the rear luggage department so people can lower the height for loading stuff in the back or is that only in euro specs? Cheers🍻
The interior looks amazing. Great Audi build. But after diesel gate I have moved to other manufacturers. Love the xc variants. Love xc 40 myself. Great review Tom!
Good review again Tom. The green is certainly polarizing. Interesting to do a comparison between the 4 cylinder diesel Q5 vs Kodiaq VRs from a value angle. No air suspension on Skoda but everything else seems fairly similar.
How is green polarizing? It's quite beautiful and not a color seen on the road like everybody else has - black, gray, white or blue. Those are all boring.
The hole where the MMI controller used to be and is now a plastic tray is awful. So cheap looking and devoid of proper design. Not what I expected from Audi.
Really keen on a Q5 sport at the moment and thanks to your other reviews definitely ticking air suspension. One gripe of have on spec is the lack of head up display standard. Personally remove the moon roof and give me head up display.
Yep, Sportback is also on the way. Would be cool if we had the choice between SQ5 petrol or SQ5 diesel, but that's not how Audi have chosen to do things.
I bought X3 30i (248hp) late last year and remember someone telling me that Audi does not have good resale value here in NSW. Not sure if it is true. That rotary mmi dial is so useful when driving and thanks to bmw of keeping it. Ride quality in Q5 is smooth as compared to X3 (adaptive suspension) but coz of air suspension Q5 is not very dynamic and fun to drive. IMO. We all are a mix of people, sometimes we want a sport suv and sometimes we want it to be as comfy as possible.
Great point on the air suspension. Always felt the previous gen car was far too firm so good to know there's a cure for the current gen if it behaves similarly.
Loving the spec ie a real colour and the tan interior is fabulous despite a lot of black still however very practical- it would be my choice in this class although I only like the Escpape Vignale :)
Is it just me or this car looks smaller and more compact than the pre face lift model? Good job to the designer for being able to hide the size.. I much prefer this version on the outside.. This segment is really heating up with incoming GV70 and NX, updated GLC and Q5 and X3..
Excuse me, did you say " Audi copied Škoda"???? Oh Lord, this is probably your last Audi to test it! But hey, you have just become Czech national hero. 😉
@@chasingcars I just feel like every time some reviews a car you have to have a kids? It’s like you can’t take your friends to the beach or on road trips .

please do a comparison of X3, GLC and Q5
Will put that on my list.
Those dynamic turn signals looks awesome Audi u have done it again
Very cool lighting signature
Audi are so nice now these day cause of their exterior lighting especially at night when the lights moved when unlock even their ambient lighting.
Yeah, they love some trick lighting.
The green colour reminds me of British racing green from old jaguar f1 cars.
It's interesting how it changes depending on the light. You can order true British racing green on the SQ5.
Reminds me of Olive green, British military.
Great review. If I win the lottery I might consider one. Seriously though, your reviews are so good for someone that is considering the vehicle you are reviewing. Great channel!
I appreciate that!
Great review as always Tom, well done
Thank you kindly!
Great review. Answered my question around carplay + satellite in the cockpit. Top stuff
That color is wow.
Great review. Im s glad you are adamant that Air Suspension is a must in this car. I have a MB GLC with it, the best option ever.
Did you manage to try a Q5 with massage?
Just wondering if it’s like the rubbish massage on like a Passat for Example?
Or more like the good one on a xc60?
amazing choice of colour!
Perfect color combo.
I think so too!
@@chasingcars I checked and we only have the 45TFSI in the US. No diesels at all.
Does q5 have usb c.

Great comment on air suspension. I have that on my Macan and it's awesome.

In Australia seat ventilation more important than heating
Pretty interested in the 40TDI sport version.
Pretty efficient SUV that one

It is impossible to find one with aur suspension as a demo car

Yeah, it's an odd misstep.
if the controller was never there I'm sure people would compliment its 'abundance of storage' . Quite a non issue

Are you guy’s getting the Sportback version too? I’m slightly disappointed there no V6 Petrol available in the SQ5 anymore.
Yep, Sportback is also on the way. Would be cool if we had the choice between SQ5 petrol or SQ5 diesel, but that's not how Audi have chosen to do things.
Sorry if I missed it, but did you talk price?
Also how’s NVH? Improved over the previous or the same? Better or worse than X3?
#Tom's favourite interior colour! These should really be standard instead of the traditional colour .
You got it!

Please review the Hyundai Kona 2021 ELITE model.
I just ordered a Q5 WITH heated seats in the back. So the option is there, at least in the Netherlands.
'subtle hint to back THE HELL OFF' - this one made me laugh

X3 for me thanks .
Same I think, in M340i guise
Heated rear seats in Australia seem almost worthless to me. I can't imagine anyone rating it as a decision factor.
They should have Cooled seats instead, would be so much better and show that they care to adopt to the climate
Cooled seats are definitely more relevant here

Facelifted??
Can you buy this suv without family?
Sure, if you like it, you can buy it

No offence; I don’t have kids myself. But the majority of midsize and large SUV buyers probably do, I imagine!
XC-60 is so much better! Keen for your views on the Volvo
So much better than that Lexus NX you just tested🤣
Haha, just newer.
will it work after 3 years?
like the colour but x3 M40i for me every time
Oh no, it’s hideous.
X5 better or Lexus RX/NX and the Mercedes GLE and the New Audi such as Q3sportback,Q7,Q8 or this model he’s reviewing.
X3 M340i is good. Obviously, I'd have to do BMW Individual Oxford Green with cognac leather on that car.
Getting famous off of comments day 257, so I can live the dream, live every day like it’s your last🤙
What?
okey
A great colour for the British military, but not Olive green.
👍👍👍😊
Made in Mexico. Yeahhhhh idk about that
Sorry but the green is hideous.
Subjective, of course.
@@chasingcars This is true, personally I'm more of a dark grey blackout pack kind of guy but as you say, it's subjective.
