Looks good - I've been using 3dQue for my automation - works well, but you do need to wait for the hot bed to cool down before it knocks the prints off. This method seems like you'd be able to reduce down time and you can get a full beds worth. I lose about 5cm at the top using 3Dque so the hot end has enough space to get behind the print to knock it off.
yeah it‘s exactly how you put it! Perhaps you can try it out and see if it works for you. Of course, u‘ll then need more space for your printers since it will increase the footprint of the A1 Mini, so keep that in mind as well!

cool, all good if you already own a Ai Mini. But given the small size- and seems to be limited to how many plates you can line up- so, but doesn't it makes more sense to use a larger printer than can print 4 x this area reliably all at once?
good point, if the bigger printer can print as fast as the A1 Mini, sure. However, if you seperate your prints to 4 different plates, you dont have to wait until all models are finished printing. You can work on the models that are already finished printing like removing brims, paint, assemble, or pack the items to be shipped, etc., thus making your workflow faster.

Hello, Do you know which pledge can I do to get all the information. Since I'm in the usa all I need is the files for the parts and what screws, nuts and washers I would need to put this all together. Thank you
What happens if there is an error on one of the plate, can you go back and reprint just one plate? Also can you still stop individual parts from inside the mobile app?
Why not wait until the bed cools of and have the printhead kick the printed thing off the bed? I think that already has been done. Seems easier and no need for more bedplates and low maximum prints.
waiting for the bed to cool down means you’re losing time, which can be critical if you wanna produce alot, fast. Besides, its also possible to print multiple parts on the plate instead of one giant part. or something flat, or something small. You are using the whole plate.
@@michaelenglund then go get it. I’m not saying that you should get the printer+kit. Different printers have different purposes and if this solution works for you, then all good. Some people would probably want cheaper, multicolor printer and some don’t care so it all depends on your needs.
@@michaelenglund its a better, more universal solution than hitting parts off the bed with the printhead. you can't push large thin parts off the print bed, or some materials, or prints requiring a brim etc.
yeah that would work too. This system however, make it possible to print flat stuffs that the print head can‘t just knock off. And you can use the whole plate to print multiple prints instead of just one big vase. And of course, you don‘t need to wait for it to cool down, means that you‘re making the most out of your time.
Can someone share the parts list? Kickstarter won't let me back this project from the U.S. and I don't want to wait until February. I am willing to pay for the parts list and files.
I agree. Could someone just post the files so we can build our own. Also if you post the files I plan to modify a version for the A1 since it won't be hard to do.
yes you have to cancel everything. If your model is always the same model on all of your plates, I think that isnt a big deal, just restart the print. But if not, lets say plate 3 of 5 fails, just cancel everything, then go to the generator, turn off plate 1 and 2, and generate the gcode for plates 3-5 so you only need to print the rest of the plates. I hope that makes sense?
the designer recommends using the textured one, since he has been testing his product with the plate. I‘m sure that it will probably work with other types of plates as well, but for the best reliability, go for the textured (rough) one.
Sorry I may sound stupid, but what is the advantage to owning different texture plates(other than this). Do certain filaments print better on certain textures?
no worries man! currently, other than textured plates, u can get smooth and effect plates. with smooth plate, you’ll get a matte bottom surface (you can still see the lines unfortunately). With a textured plate, its textured and has glossy finish (you almost see no lines). It also offers better adhesion. Effect plates will give you the effects. It depends on what you’re looking for. Basically, you can print anything that A1Mini /A1 can print on a textured plate alone.
hi there, i just tested this and if you run out of plates and there's no plate loaded, the printer will stop and shows the error message "No build plate is placed". Pretty neat, right?
3:40 Where is the link below for app? I don't see it How do I get the software to repeat prints shown in the video? Does anyone have the app they can send me? I don't even need the extra plates, just a way to auto send 5 or 10 parts in a row. I currently resend the print from my phone and it knocks part into a box in front of printer just fine but I need to resend from my phone or hit reprint on screen. My part is tall, skinny and vase mode. pops off easily no problem when it goes to start the next print. The only real problem is tiny purge line at front of plate. Sometimes it globs up after 5 or so prints. If there was a way to skip that line or move it back 2mm for each print I could print 30 parts in a row with no manual babysitting of the printer.
My understanding is that the website is just java-based website that generate the Gcode and can be ran offline. So you could basically save it on your computer and use it indefinitely.
it will just keep on reloading, there isnt plate auto-detection as far as the system concerns. The A1 mini itself though, has a no-plate auto detection feature, but i haven‘t tried printing without a plate yet. Maybe i‘ll try to test that!
you can find the kit which is available on Kickstarter currently (link is in description). You will get all the links to the generator and the guide once you received the kit. Make sure to grab it quick!
personally, I fail to see how practical this is when you have to move each plate out of the way as they come off - what's the point in that when I can just swap the plate in the same amount of time? No point.
you can put a box beneath the printer so your prints will just drop into the box when it’s finished. I could’t demonstrate it in this video because I had like 3 tripods in front of the table for filming & lighting 😅 The company is also working on some sort of conveyer so the plates wont stack up in front of the printer.

wow!
Hello, Do you know which pledge can I do to get all the information. Since I'm in the usa all I need is the files for the parts and what screws, nuts and washers I would need to put this all together. Thank you
Hey man, unfortunately they don’t offer what you are looking for, so im afraid you would have to wait until next year🤞🏼
Nagyon hasznos amugy de ki hasznalja???
What happens if there is an error on one of the plate, can you go back and reprint just one plate? Also can you still stop individual parts from inside the mobile app?
Se puede hacer el mismo sistema para una ender 3 v2 neo ?
what if there is no other empty plate in a tray? will it pause printing or make an attempt to print on a bare table?
yep it will pause printing. This is a plate detection feature of the A1 Mini itself👍🏼
@@Lukis3DCritical?
Ohh. Get a Creality cr30.
@@michaelenglund then go get it. I’m not saying that you should get the printer+kit. Different printers have different purposes and if this solution works for you, then all good. Some people would probably want cheaper, multicolor printer and some don’t care so it all depends on your needs.
@@Lukis3DThis solution is not very good.
@@michaelenglund its a better, more universal solution than hitting parts off the bed with the printhead. you can't push large thin parts off the print bed, or some materials, or prints requiring a brim etc.
What if you just wait for plate to cool, use the printer to knock of the print by slaming the print into the X axis, and then just start another print
yeah that would work too. This system however, make it possible to print flat stuffs that the print head can‘t just knock off. And you can use the whole plate to print multiple prints instead of just one big vase. And of course, you don‘t need to wait for it to cool down, means that you‘re making the most out of your time.
6:56 the bambu noise is awesome
i LOVE the Bambu noise! 😆
Will it be available in the USA?
it‘ll be available in the US in Q1/Q2 2025 👍🏼👍🏼
is it possible to buy project without extracks? Only gcodce and model 2 print
hi there, unfortunately that isn‘t possible. You would have to buy the kit.
its only working on mini and not regular?
yep its only for a1 mini currently
Can someone share the parts list? Kickstarter won't let me back this project from the U.S. and I don't want to wait until February. I am willing to pay for the parts list and files.
I agree. Could someone just post the files so we can build our own. Also if you post the files I plan to modify a version for the A1 since it won't be hard to do.
Not shipping anywhere aside from Germany until next year 🤷
yeah, unfortunately you have to wait a little bit 🤞🏼
What happens if a print fails ? do you have to cancel everything?
yes you have to cancel everything.
Does it support plates with different textures? For example I have the original “rough” PEI plate in addition to the smooth one.
the designer recommends using the textured one, since he has been testing his product with the plate. I‘m sure that it will probably work with other types of plates as well, but for the best reliability, go for the textured (rough) one.
So why is it that this item isn't available to people who live in the USA?
it will be available, but ealierst next year🤞🏼🤞🏼
Is a rough price known?
wow
Is there some kind of pause if there are no empty plates available or does it just start printing on a plateless bed?
hi there, i just tested this and if you run out of plates and there's no plate loaded, the printer will stop and shows the error message "No build plate is placed". Pretty neat, right?
Do you know if they have any plans to do it for the a1 or something different for the X1c?
as far as I understood, they‘re not planning to develop the system for A1 or X1C (yet), but maybe in the future!
looks good until the end part where the plates are getting dumped on top of each other ...
you could put the printer at the edge of the work platform and put a box beneath it, so the plates will just drop into the box
Urge to buy just one more printer, just one!!
this kit will make a lot of people get an A1 Mini just for the automation💪🏼😄
alright so why is the a1 mini better than my p1s now that doesnt seem to make any sense
well all the more reason to get one now😄😄
Can someone please do a printed version but for the A1?
3:40 Where is the link below for app? I don't see it
How do I get the software to repeat prints shown in the video? Does anyone have the app they can send me?
I don't even need the extra plates, just a way to auto send 5 or 10 parts in a row.
I currently resend the print from my phone and it knocks part into a box in front of printer just fine but I need to resend from my phone or hit reprint on screen.
My part is tall, skinny and vase mode. pops off easily no problem when it goes to start the next print.
The only real problem is tiny purge line at front of plate.
Sometimes it globs up after 5 or so prints. If there was a way to skip that line or move it back 2mm for each print I could print 30 parts in a row with no manual babysitting of the printer.
the link will be online when they start to deliver the kit to the supporters. Right now the link isnt working yet
Amazing! How long have you been working on designing this?
the System was developed by Swap-Systems so i didn‘t design it. If you want to know more about it, make sure to check out their website!
dirimu tinggal dieropa kah bang?
yes😁
Can this be done on the large A1?
its only designed for A1 Mini, but hopefully there’ll be one for the A1 in the future!
Damn. You mean I didnt need fo buy 3 printers after all?
or you can get 3 swapmod kits for your 3 minis and they’ll be your unbeatable workhorses!💪🏼💪🏼
The system seems great, but the dependency on a website concerns me. The day the company decides to shut down their servers, the tool becomes useless.
My understanding is that the website is just java-based website that generate the Gcode and can be ran offline. So you could basically save it on your computer and use it indefinitely.
Does it work with an ams
with the AMS lite, yep!
how to buy it
check out the link in the description👍🏼
Does it know if it runs out of plates?
it will just keep on reloading, there isnt plate auto-detection as far as the system concerns. The A1 mini itself though, has a no-plate auto detection feature, but i haven‘t tried printing without a plate yet. Maybe i‘ll try to test that!
It isint available in EU 😢
it’s actually from the EU. The company is in Germany, to be exact 😊
That’s cool do you want to colab and I would love to do that so I can have it for my business
yeah it‘s a really cool product! You can reach out to the owner, I‘m sure you both can work something out!
@@Lukis3D ok sadly it’s not out to the public yet
Де узяти програму для цього чуда ? swap list?
you can find the kit which is available on Kickstarter currently (link is in description).
I could’t demonstrate it in this video because I had like 3 tripods in front of the table for filming & lighting 😅
The company is also working on some sort of conveyer so the plates wont stack up in front of the printer.
