Love your well-informed enthusiasm - and what a great variety of late winter/early spring skies and lighting you had for your shooting on both sides of the river! I'm a fellow railfan with great interest in MN+Amtrak Empire Service and - after viewing your video - certainly a developing interest in the CSX action on west side of the Hudson. Would love to do some - especially afternoon rush hour - still shooting next time I'm in NYC. Meantime, I've subscribed to your channel. Keep 'em coming! P.S: "Ghost Engineer?"
I'm hoping to do some good rail fanning when I am in Chicago and Pittsburgh in 2 weeks. Do have a day trip planned for both NICTD and Metra electric. Also hoping to see some Indiana Harbor Belt trains. Going back to Philly, made an adjustment and am going to Erie Pa for a couple of days then hoping the Lake Shore Limited to see my cousins in Albany and hopefully get some Canadian Pacific/D&H action.
That's something that you seldom see on the rails - some Amazon Intermodal boxcars. (Used to seeing them on the ROADS - especially on the Beltway between Fairfax VA and the Wilson Bridge. That's right - NOT in the direction of HQ2. (Truck traffic headed THERE would take either the Springfield Interchange and I-395 North or US 1 - and would not be headed toward Fairfax - even empty!) HQ2 will also host its own warehousing facility to become Capital Logistics for all the Amazon Companies - right now, Amazon Baltimore is filling that hole.)
Isn't there some sort of attachment that could be put on the mic to cut down on that annoying wind noise? Not quite the sort of weather to be standing out in the open like that. Probably late in May would be much better. I need contact info....E-Mail address..... I have interesting news to share with you from the Wednesday Board Meeting.
Hi there Mr. Retired Railfan...did you get to Mine Dock Park by taking the LIRR to Penn Station, get to GCT and then MetroNorth to Manitou with a nice hike to the Bear Mt. Bridge, across it and down to the park OR were you in a car this time ? Just wondering...Enjoy and be well, Vincent Zablocki
I drove there. Sometimes driving is the best way and fastest way. Not enough train stop at Manitou on the weekdays but on the weekends there are plenty that stop there But it’s a long walk to those places
@@3985uprr You will have to head to Newburgh and eat at The Pizza Shop or Hudson Taco which is in the former New York Central RR station that dates back over 60 years...Happy railfanning !
There’s something remarkably comforting in watching your videos❤️😘👍
Hello from the Algorithm! Man, I remember when I was into trains when I was younger. I should probably get into that again lol
looks like a great place to catch Amtrak CSX and Metro North trains!!! The Hudson Line is one of the most scenic!!!
Always a lot of good information and entertainment. Ph.D. level railfanning for sure. "Dr. Retired Railfan."
Love that area. Rich in history. Really well done video.
For a moment I thought you missed the 2 Lake Shore Limiteds, but they dont run everyday

I've read the description, I think Peekskill tops right behind Manitou.

Cool good spot to railfan
How do you know when the CSX trains are coming? I live in the area and would love to watch them
Signal indications tell me plus other railfan groups.
Normally we would have a later amtrak train TheMapleaf from Toronto, if it weren't for covid

My iPhone

North Baltimore to Philadelphia? Is he lost?
North Baltimore, Ohio. There’s a large intermodal terminal there.
Great feedback on my attempt to be funny!
Were is this spot located at, I would love to see the trains live with my nephews.
Just north of Bear Mountain Bridge on the west shore of the river
