All Star Railfan Outing in Hudson Highlands. CSX, MN, Amtrak, and plenty of fire engines. 6/3/23

- Railfans and employee/railfans get together twice a year at Mine Dock Park and Metro North Manitou Station. We had a great time as CSX ran a decent number of freights plus the usual Metro North and Amtrak action at Manitou. A bit of Private Car madness and an unexpected barrage of fire trucks arriving from all over. We were trapped at Manitou by this red army of fire engines. All in all, a great time had by all!!!!!!

You should see the Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern! Everyone there all the way up to the CEO (Andy Muller) are huge railfans. It's an extremely railfan friendly road.

You know it's a passion when railroad employees still go out Railfanning. These guys are all awesome. Looks like you guys had a fun time. Both Mine Dock Park and Manitou and fantastic spots to hangout at around this time of year.

I'm sorry I should have rephrased that question. I did go on a Friday later on and caught "2 1/2" trains. A intermodal a mixed freight and a short local in a 2hr+ timespan. I should have asked if any day along with Friday had about the same frequency or better. Thanks for the quick reply.
The Hudson Line videos are great! That was one heck of a combined FD response for sparks and I really enjoyed all the time you spent on that! This revealed how much mutual aid is needed between communities for fire protection these days. Small volunteer towns are short staffed too.

14:30 CSX actually has 4 K5LLAs in their fleet. They are on units 595, 2767, 7204 and 7799.

Tim i like the video of you and the flying Yankee and conductor Paul and everyone else had fun at mine dock Park and seeing the joker the Metro North engineer did the conductor Paul called Metro North and another conductor knows downtown if they follow that track and the conductor Paul will called them again

By "hot" do you mean carloads that are time-sensitive and need to get from point A to B quickly? Sorry...still learning LOL.

Along the river there are several
There is like 7 houses across the tracks on the river side.
Some of thos fire apparatus were tankers. No fire hydrants they set up pools for the pumpers to draw off of
They could draw water right out of the Hudson River, it's only about 50 yards from any of the houses.
@Donald Presher yes the tankers could do so but their was quite a lot of tankers
So what was the emergency?
A resident in a nearby house saw sparks in an electrical panel in attic.
