Thank you! I grew up at that lake NE bay at grandparents and uncles and aunts cabins. what an adventure. There are two very deep spots in that spring fed lake. I often wondered what history they had. Thanks for sharing..
Pretty awesome dives! We are here in Roslyn SD. And my husband said in the 30's during the drought farmers farmed there and supposedly still tractors in there too. I believe it now with that disc in there. His parents grew up in the 30s. Fascinating indeed!
Cool video! This year there seem to be tons of fish and the water is still very clear. One can easily see down 10 feet in detail (and watch fish). The item you asked folks to help identify is a blue dock mount boat bumper, it has screw/bolt holes.
I know that bass. He’s Gil Fishbach. I used to see him out at the river when we’d go camping… how he got to Pickeral lake is a mystery good job Jeff.. very interesting
Jeff! Thank you for the video! My family has a cabin on the east beach. There are rumors of a old sunken stagecoach that broke through the ice years and years ago... somewhere in the middle of the lake.
Since I'm unfamiliar with the lake, we used the Navionics app to identify some areas that looked interesting. One was a steep drop to 30 feet. Do you know where the deepest part is & how deep?
@@jeffwhillock3108 It is 43 feet deep at it's deepest point. I believe it is by Chekapa Bay. Next time you go there ask for help on where it is and they will help find the deepest location so you can explore it.
Three different places in the central part of the lake: roughly the north end of the east Recreation Area and out from the west Recreation Area campground.

Perhaps I'll get over there again this summer.

I love that little town! I camp up in some farmers machine shed when I go fishing in the that area.
Thank you, Jeff, for bringing me to a world I could not enter on my own. I appreciated your subtitled comments and the entire experience!
Thanks for the incredible underwater view of Pickerel Lake…a sight few eyes see In person.

Very interesting.
Nice to see so many fish and a bit surprised at how good the vis was. A bit bummed to see zebra mussels so close to home.
I freedove to 18.6 feet in Pickerel yesterday and that is about where the thermocline started. Did you do drysuit for this?
Wetsuit. I noticed some temperature change on my face, but didn't notice variance dive computer temp.
Where on the lake where you
Various places.
