I was just on a 8 day road trip and spent 2 days in SD, and the best meal we eat was in SD. and the roads where good, example a normal 2 lane road in my home state, was a nice 4 lane road with hardly any traffic in SD and on I-90 we stopped at the cleanest and nicest restroom ive ever been to. And I forgot, gas pices wore almost $1.50 less per gallon then my home state. Now that said, I rather live somewhere warmier in the Winter months. And Menards also have stores in SD.
This state still sounds like a winner. More open space, scenery, and quiet. Plus one less conflict with the people living there. Sports teams. Especially if you lived in both Minnesota and Wisconsin like I have.
@@bluepunk182 SD scored high on a government corruption scale....due to endemic secrecy by the government slime. Never confuse conservative GOP values as being virtuous. The conservatives in SD are the most prolific and arrogant violators of the Fed and State Criminal codes (which somehow, don't apply to special elite deviants who always seek government powers to promote their own self interest). Never confuse SD with a legitimate, sublimated, and sophisticated state where legitimate progressive values are respected. SD never respected civil rights and never will. In the 2nd Circuit Ct system, 5,000 charges are filed by prosecutors every 30 days. There are very few criminal or civil suit trials. The Judges have done all they can to limit their duty to provide a legitimate forum for grievances. Certain secret elite deviants seem to control all government jobs to ensure a uniformity in stupidity-Malice. The more malicious you are.....the better you will enjoy SD. I went to law school with a generation of Judges, Prosecutors, Public Defendors and bill padding scoundrels known as lawyers. I assure you, SD is a very secretive and corrupt clown show....that has always had a conservative press dedicated to covering up major scandals for the benefit of the elite deviants who always seem to escape any sort of scrutiny by the degenerate, overrated, Commie filth known as county-city-state-fed law enforcement. Make no mistake about those statements from me. There is no more corrupt clown show than the SD police state (that operates overtly and covertly). Covert repression by secret vigilante groups is sponsored and supervised by retired pigs who smugly drive their Boss Mustangs to crime scenes where the Community Policemen are dedicated to committing crimes to entrap targets to whip up a lynch mob mentality that Judges and Prosecutors enjoy as proof of their dedication to enforcing the law by breaking the law. It's a Commie moron nightmare for idiots, fools, and jack asses. Never doubt just how worthless and corrupted the whole court system is, was, and will be. SD is shit storm of sin, malice, and hypocrisy. Don't fall for the virtue signaling and surface layers of respect for the law......this is a state dedicated to profiteering in pursuit of a lynch mob mentality where a Confederacy of Dunces rule like fat, stupid, smug, jack asses. They're proud of it. The rule of law is whatever a punk Judge say's it might be in certain instances for certain targets. Mediocrity and criminality prevails at the highest levels of the over paid and over rated punk government agencies. It's all about deception to protect self interest. It's all about the smug indifference to inalienable rights promoted by self serving Authority Figures. It's a peasant minded Confederacy of Dunces.
I live in North Dakota and this video is total BS. If you're from the "Big City" then you will likely not be able to adapt to a rural state like the Dakotas, Wyoming or Montana. Life moves at a different pace here. There are things to do, places to visit, friendly residents, much less major crime, jobs if you want to "work" and good food. Come here with an open mind and a willingness to try something different. We have to do that when we go to your states!
In South Dakota, when you gets asked "Who's your favorite Basketball team" by your relatives who live in another state, you answer "The Ethan Girls are looking to be really good again this year... and on the boys side I'll still be going to most of the Kernels games", because you watch the local kids play, buy their merchandise, and the best part is when you are at the games you run into everyone else! :) Winters are cold... stay inside and enjoy the games!
This is the most outstanding collection of stock video clips I have ever seen. There's a clip for everything! People hating food. People addicted to gambling. AMAZING
I’m glad this guy made this video because you don’t have to move to sd we already have enough fun you guys have yours we have yours and everything you named is positives for us
I wonder if you would be willing to come here face to face and make these statements that you are making in this video to us people that actually live in South Dakota?
Moved to SD from heavily populated NC. I live in the Pierre area. No problem finding a good job. The people are some of the finest, friendliest ones anyone could ever hope to meet. Roads where I live are fine. When it snows, our roads are cleared quickly, and I haven't seen a tornado yet. We have fantastic water recreational opportunities with our gorgeous lakes and rivers. Been here 2 years, and I love it! It's peaceful here with a stark beauty I never tire of looking at. Don't hesitate to visit or to come live here. If you haven't done it yet, you're missing out!
@marjoriesisco4358 I'm glad it's working out for you. Unless I was having bad luck on my side. I was catching dozens of vehicles go off the road on a sunny day on Interstate 40. Even literally next to me while driving. Yes, they had those state plates on them. It's not like I'm gonna go up to their vehicle after if went off the road to see if they were born in North Carolina or moved there. Or as an honorable mention, I didn't expect to take over 3 hours to get through Asheville during rush hour.
Not to mention, there's hardly any land for sale in SD. over 80% of the land is owned by cattle ranchers who own thousands of acres per ranch. Unless they're selling, there's not much to buy.
Actually the majority of South Dakota's ranch and farm land is owned by two different entities: Bill Gates and the Chinese Communist party in that order. And by a fairly wide margin as well. Sad.
You're not looking very hard if you think it's all farm and ranch land. The only set back right now is the market. Prices are 5 times higher than normal.
All the reasons you listed for not living in South Dakota are exactly the reasons I would move there in a skinny minute. But, the wife......well you know. We just spent 4 days in Rapid City, and had a great time. Tons to see, with really nice folks to help if needed. All of the studies you spoke of, and of course your opinions are all just just that, opinions. And we know what they say about opinions. And bad roads, shit South Dakota doesn't have the market on those. Just take a long multi-state road trip, and you will see for yourself.
The political part is interesting. Libs are leaving because of the conservatives. Just saw a similar video on Colorado (World According to Briggs) that showed conservatives are leaving that state due to too many libs.
A large majority of registered liberals in SD are college students and young adults who don't vote because they aren't home and stuff so it makes sense kind of
Colorado doesn't like peoples 2A rights and some city's are so loony that the cops will stop you to see if you are drinking a soda or whatever and you can be ticketed for smoking a cigarette in public
Thank you for your review! FINALLY I HAVE THE STATE IN U.S. FOUND THAT MEET MY EXPECTATIONS!!! I hope that the gun law allows you to keep the crap people from other states out !!
It's funny that all the reasons you say not to live here were all the plusses that drew my wife and I here. But please keep promoting how horrible it is so it doesn't turn into the place we moved from. Thank you
When it comes to food you must be from the city. In South Dakota if you want good food you go hunting. Like with a rifle, shot gun or bow. Then you cook it yourself. Mule Deer, White tail deer, Antelope, Turkey, Pheasant, Quail, Ducks, Dove, Rabbit, if you are real lucky Bison and Moutain Goat. Bow season, Shot Gun season, and Rifle season, so you can hunt year around. Who wants to eat beef, pork or chicken in South Dakota?
Just exactly WHERE do you think the food in the grocery store comes from? Without hunting , wildlife grows out of control and they die off from not enough food. You have no clue as to what you are talking about and please, do stay out of South Dakota, we do not need fairy tree hugging panzy girlboys here. Yes WE KNOW what a woman is...
Lifelong new yorker here. Sure, there were lots of prairies, but I spent 10 days out there and found it stunningly beautiful ! The people, the scenery and small towns were awesome. I can't wait to go back.
My son went to The Hot Rod Institute in South Dakota. It was great. We visited and went to Sturgis, bikes for miles, we went to Mount Rushmore, we went to Wooley Mammoth exibits, we went to The Devils Tower, we experienced Tornado Alley and baseball hail.....that was in 2 weeks time !! AND THE FOOD WAS GREAT!
While this video makes some points it's not fully accurate or fair to everyone. Over the last thirty plus years the state has grossly deteriated in some ways, as the old school traditional hard working rural farm folks have paased away. There are still great people there, but the culture has changed and has changed in our entire country abroad. The state government is incompetent at best when it comes to accountability to small folks especially. Recently, the former AG hit a man walking along the side of the road while on his cell phone driving at night and attempted to hide the crime. The AG was repeatedly asked to step down, yet he refused to do so and had to be impeached. This kind of stuff has always plagued the government in SD. They even had a co-ed prison at one time not long ago with men, women and the mentality ill all housed together in a former college campus that was shut down to become a medium security prison with poorly educated or trained rural boys as senior officers running the place. The state bar is not regulated by the state in any way shape or form and is a small private office that isn't always open and thousands of complaints are ignored or if looked at it's done by their peers, not an unbiased alias party or like some states with a solid legal framework. The old statement of we've investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing is very common in SD. That's why people leave the state. Corrupt attorneys are allowed to run wild without any accountability, corrupt judges and the state supreme court does whatever it wants to do regardless of the laws. Beware if you get pulled over by a state patrolman, as he or she may be in their very early twenties of age and always alone heightening the fear factor. This is not 1 Adam 12 where a rookie learns the ropes from a senior officer together. You've got a chance of a traffic ticket turning into a full blown felony, being roughed up, tased or having a pistol pointed at you. Escalation happens so fast by these adrenaline filled youngster's that you may find yourself in jail with injuries, several charges and your vehicle towed and impounded at a rate around $50 a day plus the towing involved. You don't want to go to court in South Dakota. It's all about revenue for the system. What's great about the state is it's rich western history and homesteading. The black hills and the badlands are gorgeous and Sturgis is usually a great time. The open prairies are beautiful and the Missouri River runs right through the state, fishing, hunting and interesting people along with the natives and the arts that are finally starting to grow at a better pace. It can be a great place to visit and vacation, but avoid interacting with the authorities of any branch if at all possible. The Missouri River runs right up against the state of Nebraska on the SE end and the fishing and boating laws are very tricky around the Gavins Point Dam area, so you may think that your legally fishing and your actually not, because the line is in the middle of the river and is being monitored by Nebraska GFP from a distance via binoculars just waiting for you to cast over an invisible line or whatever. They will box you in with an unmarked vehicle, write you a ticket or two with a large fine. I witnessed this happen to a young teenager during the kids free fishing day in SD and the poor kid didn't even have a single fish to himself. They were rude and drove off and this poor boy looked so depressed, confused and bewildered after being reprimanded by an old goat of a man with no mercy. Later that same afternoon, I witnessed a young man park next to the public restrooms at the marina with no other vehicles parked there and while he was in the restroom out of nowhere a young SD GFP intern summer officer pulls up and placed a prewritten ticket under the wiper and left quickly. I just had to go investgate this! It was a parking ticket for around a hundred dollars. No signs up no nothing. Apparently a private public restroom? Made no sense. While some things stay the same, many change with each new governor or AG, so be sure and get up to date on the laws pertaining to your activities and areas before you visit the state or bring a fat checkbook with you! Just like most states it has it's pros and cons.
went on vacation to SD a few years ago with my kids and absolutely loved it. Now bringing my gf next week for a week and cant wait. I would move here in a heartbeat. I am a conservative living in the lib cesspool of NJ. SD is one of the most beautiful states on the country. Their roads, bugs, weather, etc., isn't much worse than the east coast, aside from the tornados. If not for probably not being able to find a job in the Financial sector, i would move here so quick.
As a South Dakota and most of what you’re saying is a plus we don’t want outsiders here you guys don’t think like us we are ranching and farming state. We are Cowboys. We are cowgirls we are we are workers.
Live here and it is true what you say, but there’s so much to do! Yes, our weather sucks but that means more pools and indoor things such as rock climbing! There’s the plains to explore, horses to ride, and so much more! Plus, you get used to the weather very quickly after it changes! Too hot? Find shade and it cools you down quite well. The bugs rarely give you disease too! They are there, but ya! The reason for gambling is due to our cheap prices but yet we also aren’t paid much either. Gambling often gives us more money due to lottery tickets almost always giving at least a buck back. Everything else is more of a personal choice! However, the reason we have no specific cuisine is due to the fact that we have so many! Promise you South Dakota is a wonderful place to live! People are mostly kind, and while there are bad ones, everyone is quite safe. You can even leave doors unlocked, and there has not been a single school shooting since when it started becoming common for every other state!
I lived in south Dacota for.3 years. If you spend a winter there you better get a block heater if you plan to start your car.. I found the thunderstorms one of the most interesting experiences. The black hills are okay during the summer that's about it.
70 year old Californian checking in. I use to be a traveling salesman and I got to know and live in many areas around the country. I fell in love with Western South Dakota. Yeah I know, oh no, ANOTHER damn Californian thinking of moving here and bringing their damned Liberal policies with them! LOL, I am a Conservative. California has a huge number of Conservatives! The problem is that we are just outnumbered here. Especially in the Metropolitan areas. So they have kept the Democrat mafia in power for the last 20+ years. I don't care about "Nightlife and entertainment", I don't care about "Fine cuisine". I'm concerned about California taking my guns away especially as I move into my second weakest phase of life. If it wasn't for the cold winters I would have moved there a few years back. Those of you living there appreciate what you have. 8:55 I had to laugh out loud at this segment. Why not just say if you wave an American flag around you are some kind of MAGA nut... 😂 This is the sort of thing I would expect to see in Sissyfornia, err, California. Let the Liberals leave. They'll end up in New York or here in California... 🤬
Absolutely everything you mentioned is the reason I’d move to South Dakota but I already live in South Dakota, the more people I can stay away from the better!
10 Reasons why you should move to South Dakota if you are Conservative Entrepreneur. 1. Great for retirement or people that want a slow life style. 2. Great opportunity to start a restaurant if you are a chef and an entrepreneur. 3. There are no jobs so its a great place for a digital nomad 4. If you are a digital nomad you can spend your summers where you want. Rent your house or apartment on Airbnb. 5. Get a pick up truck. 6. Spend your winters in Florida. This is what Canadians do. 7. Learn defensive driving skills. Don't go out late at night. 8. Open up a Casino and profit from their gambling addiction. 9. If you are not a conservative Republican live somewhere else. 10. Find what repels the bugs and spray your home or wear the scent on you so the bugs leave you alone.
I live in South Dakota, the legal system is beyond corrupted. #1 job is to keep the multi million dollar prisons filled to the brim. Come to South Dakota if you want you kids to become convicts.
Literally it’s not that bad living here. 🤷🏻♀️ like we don’t have a cuisine? Cool? Nobody cares. 🙄 like everything in this video just doesn’t matter. SD is a nice place to live regardless.
If you're a selfish moron who only wears the label of Christian instead of acting like one and you don't mind freezing and sweating along with the smell, sure. For someone brain dead and without any physical senses, its a great place for a coma. Source: SD native for 35 years.

Especially if you lived in both Minnesota and Wisconsin like I have.
as a person who lived in SD for years..... my part of SD had no tornadoes
Ive only seen two small tornadoes up in the far northeastern part. Lived here 40 years myself.
I love living in South Dakota because it’s fun to explore and it has a lot of history
South Dakota is an awesome state! The west side of the state is absolutely beautiful! Small population is a great feature!!
Oh and as for politics, liberals don't let the door hit ya on your way out... that's a huge positive 👏
Maybe that's why south Dakota is so forgotten in the US.
@@chrisnotpratt1903only forgotten by those they don't want to have it remembered by anyway. No loss there...
I loved South Dakota for my long stay in 90’s . Peace and quiet, friendly people , great hunting
900,000 that is not a small number it's just right
In South Dakota, when you gets asked "Who's your favorite Basketball team" by your relatives who live in another state, you answer "The Ethan Girls are looking to be really good again this year... and on the boys side I'll still be going to most of the Kernels games", because you watch the local kids play, buy their merchandise, and the best part is when you are at the games you run into everyone else! :) Winters are cold... stay inside and enjoy the games!
The license age is because of farmers and the need to operate equipment and vehicles
The case he’s trying to make sounds like great reasons to move to SD. Plus no state income tax!
I like the no major league sports teams aspect.
Me too !
This is the most outstanding collection of stock video clips I have ever seen. There's a clip for everything! People hating food. People addicted to gambling. AMAZING
😎😎
I’m glad this guy made this video because you don’t have to move to sd we already have enough fun you guys have yours we have yours and everything you named is positives for us
I wonder if you would be willing to come here face to face and make these statements that you are making in this video to us people that actually live in South Dakota?
I'll do it for him. SD native and have lived here for 35 years. Everything in this video is 100% accurate.
Lived here my whole life and there's not a single lie in this video.
@@marjoriesisco4358 Pierre is a hidden gem.
This video is off like a mug. SD cuisine is known for Buffalo Burgers. They have the best meat ever! Also no state sales tax!
I'm surprised you used the term mug, I'm a black man that grew up in Chicago and that was a term we used back in the day. Lol.
We do have sales tax but no state income tax
Not to mention, there's hardly any land for sale in SD. over 80% of the land is owned by cattle ranchers who own thousands of acres per ranch. Unless they're selling, there's not much to buy.
Strange, relocating from Texas to South Dakota I found plenty of 5+ acre lots. Are you poor? If you have the cash, land seems to be plentiful.
@@ian2372 Yea, poor me. Thanks for telling me something I didn't know. Most of the land is still owned by Ranchers.
@@ian2372 South dakotans ARE poor compared to people from other states. That's why you can buy here but we cant.
Two different states in one: East is Minnesota-like West is part of the cultural West, more in common with Colorado, Wyoming, Montana.
Im from South Dakota and your facts are way off
The political part is interesting. Libs are leaving because of the conservatives. Just saw a similar video on Colorado (World According to Briggs) that showed conservatives are leaving that state due to too many libs.
Very interesting time we're in right now
@@Acrosstheglobechannel To say the least!
Yes, South Dakota is very backwards politically, especially with the current governor.
Thank you for your review!
FINALLY I HAVE THE STATE IN U.S. FOUND THAT MEET MY EXPECTATIONS!!!
I hope that the gun law allows you to keep the crap people from other states out !!
He said there is no good food, and then he showed chislic, which is actually pretty awesome.
It's funny that all the reasons you say not to live here were all the plusses that drew my wife and I here. But please keep promoting how horrible it is so it doesn't turn into the place we moved from. Thank you
then the place is nothing but old weird ghouls
Sounds like paradise
Dad was from Bridgewater and mom from Parkson...only went back for family reunions and hunting.
Glad you put this out there so maybe it'll keep the riff raff away.
Coming from a Canadian what a great place to live with no liberals AMAZING ! Libs stay out !
Hunters are killers of nature.
@@internetcensure5849that seems very obvious. What else are they going to kill, the unnatural? I think you win the dumbest statement of the day award.
@@internetcensure5849 Hunters started the conservation movement. You don't care about nature if you don't use it.
It’s a great place to live! It’s not everyone, but unless you have lived here for a few years , you have no idea what your talking about !
No one comes out their house, except to drive 5 mins.away.lol.its like a ghost city..
Thats just because the closest casino and liquor store is only 5 mins away. Its sad we have to travel farther for groceries than gambling.
i don’t i only drive a short drive of 100 miles to peirre to shop and only have to drive 17 to gamble
Most US cities, except the very big ones, look like "ghost' cities!
This video might actually attract more people into moving there, I would....or was that the whole motive of this clip???
went on vacation to SD a few years ago with my kids and absolutely loved it.
The crappy roads and extreme politics are directly related. I never left anything in S.D. I needed to go back for!
SF has extreme "liberal" politics, yet has crappy cities! So, both are related too.

Bro you have clearly never driven in south dakota, because the important roads are in amazing shape. Cant say the same for our next door states
South Dakota? is Pretty but like stepping back in time
If Liberals are leaving then South Dakota must be doing something right.

Can you please list some positives?
