I lost my daughter at the exact same age a few years back and this song still hits like a freight train. I am so terribly sorry for your loss, we belong to a club that nobody wants a membership to. It DOES get better over time. The biggest key to that is to not second guess yourself or blame yourself for whatever it was that happened. Be well.

There aren't many UA-camrs who react so emotionally to the song. But I like that and it's OK. That's how it has to be. Because then you notice that people understand this song. RAMMSTEIN has a lot of emotional songs. If you read the lyrics and understand what message Rammstein wants to convey, you'll see. Rammstein has simply been the best band in the world for years. That's just a fact.

It´s part of Rammstein´s magnificent artistry to be able to to provoke the same emotion every single time you hear on of their songs. No matter which song it is, the emotions I felt when hearing it the first time is exactly the same I feel every single time. It doesn´t fade away, no matter how often I hear it. Sometimes the emotions are stronger depending on personal situation, but they are still there.
And Rammstein is the only band that is capable to achieve this for decades with almost every song they put out there.

It's interesting that Pink Floyd's song by the same name has a tendency to bring out the same kind of response, and as others have pointed out, more so the older one gets.

This will always make me cry. My sister had cancer around the time this came out. I had been learning German at the time & she loved hearing me speak it as we lived 100s of km apart but I went through the whole pandemic getting on trains to go see her. One day it was a beautiful sunny winter's day. So we were hugging in the lounge room just feeling warm & enjoying the hug so I was softly singing this. The perfect moment. I went to leave & she called out love you. I called out love you right back! And that was the last time I would see her. 2 weeks later her health tanked & I was on the phone on speaker with her partner in the middle of the night as she slipped away, apparently with a little smile on her face. 2 years coming up in June.
    Est ist sehr schön

One of my favourite Rammstein songs. ❤ The line that gets to me the most is "Augenblick, verweile doch, ich bin noch nicht bereit". I've unfortunately had a lot of people in my life pass on; the first funeral I remember anything of was when I was two, for my cousin of the same age. Even in just the the past four years, I've gone to as many funerals (including one of my uncles the day before the pandemic shut the world down). I'm close to my dad. He actually just had his birthday yesterday, and I'm increasingly aware of the fact that he's getting older and I won't have him around forever. I dread the day I'll have to say goodbye to him; I don't think I'll ever be ready for it.

No need to feel sorry for your little "rants", we all have stuff inside us that needs to come out..., btw another real tear-jerker from Rammstein is "Ohne dich" so make sure to check it out.

I had a cat named Pete. He got sick, developed kidney disease, and my family couldn't see him suffer. I couldn't be there when it was his time to go, so I kept listening to this song (plus "Helvegen" by Wardruna). I love this song, but I have a hard time watching it now, especially the scene with Ollie (the man who has his daughter taken away). The fact that Rammstein used the Nornir, the fates from Norse mythology, is especially poignant, because they demonstrate that we can't control time and how it affects all our lives. Thanks for all your reactions, but especially this one.

I have been a German Rammstein fan from the very beginning. They determined my zeitgeist, accompanied my life in many ways and were there with their art when I needed it. All of this was almost destroyed by the terrible press campaign surrounding last year's sexual debauchery and rape allegations. But today I am even more on the side of Till, my cousin Sven and the other boys, now that they have been identified as victims and not as the perpetrators. Keep it up and keep impressing audiences around the world... Love you.

"It's taken me 30 years to figure out who the fuck I am...
And I feel like, as I have learned so much about myself. I know nothing."
That sentence hit me man. I'm pretty sure most people feel like that. At least when they slow down and actually think.
But its funny how from the outside looking in from your own perspective it still always feels like everyone else has their shit together and you are the only one that has no clue of what's going on.
If we only knew how many around us probably relate to those feelings.
It's a weird universe we live in.. on a very weird planet.. and we are all very weird creatures that are just trying to piece together what the fuck is going on.

We're all moving inexorably to the same place. What's so amazing to me about this song/video is the realization that even if we could run the clock in reverse, it would do nothing to change the end result. I'm a dad too, and I saw this video dozens of time, since it came out, and I always get tears on my face. Once as I see the birth, remembering the two moments new life came on earth, seeing the head of my daughter, of my son, coming out, those pictures burned in my head, I will never forget. And then, a few seconds later, feeling fear, looking at the eyes of the father, I have known what would come ... And then, he's running, too late, no mum, no dad will go through this.
This is one aspect. Then, the perfect music, the colours, the visuals, the symbolic (men with scythes, the 3 norns, the sand-clock etc). You said it, a masterpiece.

The message that this song sends to me: you don't know what you have until it's gone, so love and cherish the people that are in your life while they are still here, and let them know what they mean to you.

I've also gone through a lot of cr** and had to bury my mom and my grandpa. My dad is currently very ill too and for a while things looked so bad the doctors said we might have to decide that he should be allowed to die. Luckily, things are looking better now. I really hope he keeps getting better and might have a few more years. I was so terribly worried and cried so much and the other deaths were already reason enough for me to cry when listening to the song. Mom died 13 years ago, but it still hurts. I've also often been a nobody basically, bullied relentlessly etc. but luckily, I've always had my family who were there for me and supported me. I don't know if I'd still be here if it wasn't for them.

I was not expecting that. What a beautiful and moving song.
And, as incredible as the message in the song was, your "rant" at the end was equally as important. So many people are struggling in their lives and need to hear that right now, so thank you. Thank you for saying what needs to be said.

    About the three Figures:
Norne (goddess of fate in Norse Mythology)
In Norse Mythology, the Norns are female beings who determine fate.
Three Women of destiny are mentioned by Name:
They are called Urd (fate), Verdandi (that which becomes) and Skuld (guilt; that which is to be).
Their Names are regarded as Norse equivalents of common medieval concepts of Time in the form of personifications of the Past (Urd), Present (Verdandi) and Future (Skuld).

Time is a merciless master we all must face. No one knows when it's up, for you.. for me.. for them. Make the most of it, as cliché as that sounds. As for the song, i was not expecting it at all, except Zeit.. i knew the word so i figured it would be emotional. Super video, music, vocals. Great job ❤ and ✌️

Well, d.t. is (also) about being blind for that you want, and could get, it's just next you, but blind in the complaining, you don't see it. But it's told on a fun way.
Rammstein says: Stop complaining, open your eyes. Remember: (east) German band, a lot of people are frustrated in germany, but for what? They should open their eyes.

I always start to tear up while listening and watching Rammstein's Deutschland video because it really touches me and not only as German but because it is so well made, same with some of the Sabaton songs it is how it is.
There is no shame in crying.

    Rammstein makes art.
The "creatures" are "The Norns". The 3 female Norns (named: Urðr, Verðandi, and Skuld) are deities in Norse, Germanic mythology who are responsible for shaping human destiny (past, present and future ). They keep the time ticking.

Whenever Rammstein, especially nowadays, releases songs not about Sex but social commentary, I feel like theyre on point. The untitled Album from 2019. The song Deutschland, is really a perfect representation of modern Germany. A country proud of its influences, a land of poets and thinkers for anybody who ever bothered to look beyond the world wars, a country with huge influence in science, so many major inventions and yet a country still 80 years later feeling guilt for its shameful past. A song and music video that will be analyzed in history classes for the next decades if not centuries. Zeig dich, a sequel song to Halleluja, critisizing the church which many Germans are starting to leave more and more due to its controversies. People losing faith in religion. Ausländer, a song about two things, one is colonialism but also sex tourism, packaged in a more funny music video with a bitter undertone.
Then you go to the Zeit album. Armee der Tristen. A song about somebody in a vulnerable position in life who is being exploited and manipulated by populist movements/leaders to fight for their cause. "Marching against happiness".
Youre reacting to Zeit right now, less of a social commentary but a very thoughtful and deep song. Many fans initially didnt like it because "its not rammstein" but our boys arent the youngest anymore, theyve been through life, lost family members, been near death themselves, its not the same edge they had 25 years ago but its something different and something representative on how they currently feel. i personally love the song and especially the music video, genuinely one of the best ive ever seen. and its funny seeing people shocked at the two birth scenes because what people often say, rammstein puts a mirror in front of society. and when you take a step back, why are you shocked at the most natural thing ever that literally everybody has been through? a birth.
Zick Zack, a rather funny video about people being more and more obsessed about beauty surgeries.
Angst, a very topical song (and great music video) about normal people being manipulated by populist leaders/dictators/personalities through media. Spreading fear about immigrants that isnt justified. The one spreading the fear is portrayed as a psychopath while the immigrants with dark skin are portrayed as relatively innocent, caged in a small area of barbed wires.
And even going back to 2005, Mann gegen Mann, a song critisizing homophobia.
Im not the oldest man yet but if I had to guess why young people nowadays have so many issues regarding mental health and entering adult life is a bunch of factors. We have complete freedom in our future, in what we do after school. Continue to pursue education? Work immediately? What if I dont like the job? What if i dont like the education im pursuing? I myself have friends who are in their late 20s, even early 30s, who still are not working full time jobs because they havent found something they can tolerate. The alternative is the old school way of simply starting to work at your parents place or just starting to work at a company nearby that you/your parents have good relationships with. Humans can thrive when restrictions exist. More people are being creative in minecraft than actual painting. Restrictions give us a clearer path, less things to worry about. And im not saying we should be more restrictive, I think we should definitely stay in what we currently have which is the freedom to pursue the career we want, Im just pointing out the disadvantages that come with it. It reminds me of a shark trying to find a fish to eat in a swarm of fish. he cannot chose one because he is overwhelmed by the choice, so he struggles to attack and eat one.
On top of that the western lifestyle comes with a lot of responsibilities, its a very complicated life. A lot more paper work, insurances, a lot of planning and worrying. It can simply be too much for some people. I have family in Thailand and while they might not earn the salary I do, they have a much more simple life as things are far less bureaucratic, theres less planning, less worrying, more living in the moment. they are rather happy people simply enjoying life with what they have.

rammstein is just incredibly heavy but also beatiful at times. This is for sure one of their best songs and videos. Can't wait for you to listen to more of their stuff. Also there is a channel on yt, educatedmarine, who translates the songs and has some custom videos for their hidden gems.
I see you have reacted to slaughter and lorna, i wanna suggest another deathcore band: paleface swiss. Not sure what song in particular, i guess Curse Us is a nice one, tho the uncensored version might be triggering for some people. Personal fav is please end me.

Rammstein is a rabbit hole. Lyrics are deep in meanings. Most songs are worth to google the deeper meanings. But lots also have not just one view, they play with words so meaning getting 3D. Sounds strange but it like i said. An older song: Klavier. ... is one of these. Great reaction, your an grown men, as just kids think, not to cry is an strength. 💪 life can be a bi..c., but were able to choose how deep were getting fu..ed.
