The song has nothing to do with any kind of war. It is about the flow of time in our life. The three creatures in black are a symbolism from the northern mythologie the "Edda". They represent the tree nornes 'Urd'(what is), 'Verdandi' (what was) and 'Skuld' (what will be), simply explained. It's is our fate.
True thing, and within all of that nothing changes, as if times goes backward ppl forget all the bad shit and do it again..or at least accept that it happens
It’s about time, not war. Sands of time. Time please stand still. They lost some people dear to them, and the nature of life, death, time’s arrow became stark for them. It’s their lament that time is relentless
The name of the song is Time. Name a time in your life when there was no war. Obiously the last child to die was not in a war. Maybe the war is against time after all?
@@bryanbrady877 i think people get hung up on the imagery in the beginning with the soldiers turning to kids. Its about life, about death and all the moments in between that we never get back.

Awesome Song with deep visual storytelling and great songtext. Everytime i see this video if gives me goosebumps, and sometimes something in my eyes....damn onions.....This Rammstein Video is another piece of art for me. Nice reaction btw :)
Hi! I am a Rammstein fan since 2009 and I think Zeit is one of the best Rammstein song. It is all about, how the time is passing by and we cannot control it. Our time can be end, when we are young, when we are in middle age and when we are old. We cannot control it and they show us in this video. Of course, there is the war motive in the video, because Germany participated in WW1 and WW2 (just like my country, Hungary) and in the war you can die so many times and you cannot control it. The sand is representing the sand of time and fun fact, it is not a CGI, they used real sand in the video. In there live show this was an amazing emotional song and 60.000 people were singing this together. Love your video Ray and I hope in the next one we can see your new hairstyle :D have a nice day guys!:)
Another way war is an epitome of time is the way people want to undo it, to return to the past and prevent it, to erase it from memory. As Germans they long to undo WWI and especially WWII, but cannot, it is already in the past. The music video to David Garrett and Till Lindemann's interpretation of Alle Tage ist kein Sonntag is a sort of prequel to Zeit in this aspect. There it is also the inner wish to undo the war, to revive the victims, and the inability to do that.
Till Lindemann is enigmatic with vocals like these ones, but the idea is similar to the one in the song from the Pink Floyd's album The Dark Side of the Moon, named Time (in German 'zeit'). The point is for you to accept time as existence, not as measure. 😢🎉
The song and video are a masterpiece. There is no need to blur the reverse birth scenes. Childbirth is the most natural thing in the world and since it's not sexual, UA-cam has no problem with it. Things are different with the Lindemann music videos and some other Rammstein videos.
Hello from Germany! The three creatures are the goddess of fate "Urd" (past), "Verdandi" (present) and "Skuld" (future)They are from Norse mythology! I like your reaction! Greetings Nephilim
I think you paradoxically ended up closer to the intended meaning than most reactors. The images of war and struggle were put there for a reason. This song is not only about our time. It also talks about hardships in life that make us remember about the passage of time. War and other atrocities make the big part of it. And I also like that you didn't follow the typical "time bad" route. Because everything comes and goes along with time, both good and bad. We shouldn't forget that.
Great reaction! You got the meaning, but have you considered turning on translated subtitles on UA-cam? It would probably make it easier to keep up with the punchlines and see what’s happening in the video. For example, you missed the moment when time takes the child away from her father. By the way, the name of the song isn’t pronounced as ‘Zeit’ with a Z - it’s closer to the ‘Ts’ sound
This song was allegedly written by Till when he had Covid and was in the ICU. He thought he was dying and was probably taking stock of his life. (All of this is based on conjecture on Reddit, so we could all be bullshitting ourselves) But yes, it's about the relentless passage of time. We're helpless in the face of it, hence the usage of the Norns, the masters of fate. I listened to it on repeat the day my cat was put to sleep, almost one year ago today. I miss you, Pete. 😢
While you were watching the lyrics of the song during the video, you missed the best scenes. Especially with Rammstein, get informed beforehand and get ready..😉
Auto translation is pretty accurate regarding rammstein songs. Might help to keep track of the deeper meaning... which is life, it's priceless value and what we're going to do with it while we are alive
Great Song with great Lyrics and it is a great Video! For me it's a Masterpiece! 👍 About the three Figures: Norne (goddess of fate in Norse Mythology) In Norse Mythology, the Norns are female beings who determine fate. Three Women of destiny are mentioned by Name: They are called Urd (fate), Verdandi (that which becomes) and Skuld (guilt; that which is to be). Their Names are regarded as Norse equivalents of common medieval Concepts of Time in the form of personifications of the Past (Urd), Present (Verdandi) and Future (Skuld).
Zeit: "The moment you are born you start to die." Memento mori. "Cattle die, kinsmen die, and thyself, too, shall die; but one thing I know that never dies, the tales of the one who died."

I always groan in frustration when people don't figure out that this video can be auto translated for pretty accurate English subtitles, or that one could just find a version of the video with English subtitles already attached. Not getting the translation live as the video is playing is such a waste, so much of the intended impact is lost.
Time makes fools of us all, they say. Times of war make some rich and some dead. This is the R+ community, we wait for people to insult themselves. We have Time.
You're late reacting to this one. Love your reference to "All quiet on Western front". I hope I'm still alive when you embrace your natural hair colour. My chances are good. Stay as you are. Stay curious.
This video is more about a deep subconcious feeling about time than actually intelectual thinking. I leaves some feeling behind, of something deeper going on, almost beyond comprehension that in turn might trigger thinking about it. It is something basic and profound rather than inellectual and follows the path German philosophers took in contrast to French and British thinkers who only allowed abstraction and intellect as a valid subject, while German philosophers found something fundamental missing - the personal view and the impact on ones own feelings that every topic imprints. This kind of thinking did lead to some of the deepest thoughts ever thought but also allowed a sentiment that was the basis for racist and nationalist ideas. That kind of feeling/thinking is at the core of German identity, but it is a truly two edged blade.
You must react to Linkin Park - Good things go the last song of the new album. There is no music video but maybe a live performance but bring some tissue :)

“Time” is about transience, the impossibility of escaping death, clinging to the moment that may not pass.
