I really really like how unpretentious you guys are. Whatever's the reaction is it, no acting it up for youtube or whatever, just some dry funny (bad) jokes. It just feels very authentic and you guys seem to have gone through your own tough times to form this authentic, understated friendship, that shines through, if anything, in the sarcasm. Really dig it. Hope you guys stay true to it, and quit doing this if you feel it's becoming an act. I also love the format of one playing piano and the other simply taking it in. It's a great atmosphere to take in new music. Thanks. Best wishes.
Well, the lyrics say that things are sh!t "without you", but then they also say things are sh!it "with you". So... I dunno, maybe the message is just "life is sh!t no matter who's with you" :D
I like how Rammstein offer a combination of intelligent music, lyrics and videos that all work together as unified works of art. The lyrics have a poetic power and ambiguity. And the sound is great!
Till wrote this song as apology for the quarrel that he caused when he made the video for the song Mutter single-handedly. The other band members were exhausted after the last tour and needed vacations. Till decided not to wait for the others and did it alone. As the band has no leader but decides everything democratically, that led to a serious crisis within the band. So the song is about the band that only exists with all six original members. I'm not sure whether this agreement was made as a result of the crisis or whether this was already agreed in earlier times. The aluminium plate where Oliver punches in Till's name is the usual kind of tombstone for mountain climbers in regions where it is not possible to bring back a mountaineer that died during the ascent (e. g. in the death zone of Mount Everest).
Good comment. They also played with the concept with Haifisch, the music video juxtaposed with the actual lyrics. I liked how on the 2023 tour Till sang this, Ohne Dich - at least from Munchen onwards - as something of a love song or maybe not quite the right word, but it felt that he sang this to the fans, the audience, even changing the ending to Ohne Euch. I don't know about Helsinki or Odense, but in Vilnius the band actually played a pared back version of Ohne Dich on the B Stage, along with Engel.
I really really liked the whole part near the end of the video where Judson kinda breaks down the song's chord progression, that was really cool to see and listen to! Hopefully you guys do more of these mini-breakdowns in the future
The way you two look at each other with disgust and boredom like two very old friends should brings joy to my cold hard 39 yr old heart. I've got one of those friends since we were 7, and everytime he suggests something ive heard or sucks i look at him with disdain; with loving disdain.
11:14 The song is actually about a lost love and loneliness. You can Google the translation but it's more poetic in German, especially where the lyrics pause and flow in the delivery. The video, especially in the beginning, is a nod towards a genre of films in Germany called Heimatfilme, which can be roughly translated as homeland or hometown films. They were sort of a German version of Hallmark Christmas movies and where popular in the 40's through 60s. The band is definitely one single unit, and while the members have done solo projects they have always regarded their work as a collective effort. They actually talked about it in their song Haifisch, which also has a heck of a video too.
The parts that get me with this reaction video is when Judson is playing it out and has to stop because the emotion of thus peice and the video is just too strong to ignore. This is truly one of my favorite pieces of music I've ever heard. Other than mumble rap and Conway Twitty-style country? I love most music. But Rammstein has always been the kind of group that holds passion for their art and music above all else. ❤
Thank you for the video. Rammstein has an album titled Klavier and it's piano only versions of 13 of their songs, including Ohne Dich and Mein Herz Brennt.
I always love it whenever metal bands do really calm and relaxing songs it’s a bit like with Metallica nothing else matters it really shows you that a lot of these bands have heart
I fucking love Judson. He always gets the nuances of a song by just hearing it once. PLus he's funny as hell. I would love a reaction to any of these, it would be awesome!: The Algorithm - pointers YouSeeBIGGIRL/T:T Absolomb - Periphery Keep up the excellent work fellas!!
Somewhere Only We Know is one of my favorite songs ever, and Keane is fantastic live. Frontman Tom Chaplin of Keane also does recover. Oh and sure, Ohne Dich is pretty neat.
Great to see someone interpreting without knowing the whole lyrics, just by the music and the video … that’s what I love about Rammstein.when you listen and watch in any kind of way, you realize that they have something to tell …
Great reaction 😁. Very emotional song by Rammstein, I absolutely love how beautifully Till's vocals and the instrumental go together. I think it's time for Judson to see and hear Rammstein's live performance, my sugestion is definitely "Du Hast" - Live In Paris (Official video).
Respectfully, I must disagree. If we're considering live performances, then *_surely_* the version of "Ich Will" performed at Nîmes should be the first one to check out?
@@stickiedmin6508 Ok, so I actually had to go and watch it because I haven't seen it before 😅, but I still stand by my choice 🙈. To be clear I don't think that either of them is "better", I think it's just more of a presonal preference and I personally just like "Du Hast" live more, the energy of the crowd and the way it's filmed is just incredible to me.
😂 I’m trying to picture this in my head and it just feels uncomfortable. I’m planning to have Judson in full corpse paint by the time this channel is nearing its end. Full metal conversion
@Greatmeasures1 you know Tasha wants to see this episode too! Get Judson something like the Celine Dion shirt, but a different artist. Jethro Tull? Fleetwood Mac?
Hey guys, great reaction with the great Rammstein! I like Judson's adjective, poignant and powerful yet simple. Sometimes less is more on the surface in music at least. JAGUAR GOD - MASTODON, powerful song with some great piano work from the guy who played with Frank Zappa. Give it a listen and reaction!!!
This was nice. Maybe you could check out some of their early stuff like "Seemann" or "Herzeleid"? And maybe get some translated lyrics with you while reacting? That makes a huge difference, especially with some of those more spicy songs.
"Rum-shtine" (not "stine"; "s" before a consonant like "t" or "p" is pronounced "sh"). Please check out their other songs and official videos, too, they're all great. Their lyrics (the official videos have close captions in English) are very poetic and deep, mostly, although they have a few funny ones, too. Happy New Year ! 🎇✨🎊
Rammstein probably paved the way for my acceptance of death metal growling, in as much as you don't have to understand the lyrics to enjoy the song and get what they're aiming for. Pointless trivia: Keane met at a posh school in my obscure little backwater home town of Tonbridge. The town's other claim to "fame" is that it was the scene of England's biggest ever cash only heist where they stole over £50million in notes. I lived about half a mile away at the time but for the record, had nothing to do with it.
Ohne Dich also has a piano version off the album Klavier with no vocals. Should check it out also. The song is beautiful but like all of their songs might have a not as pretty double meaning.
Sstien, Ssteien, Rammstein!?! Nearly, America! Why is this so hard? Google? I'd use 'Einstein' as an example for pronunciation, but... we've heard from Across The Pond, too 😭😅😂 As for the ch sound /x/, try a Google search or look at any interactive IPA chart (not the beer!).
Great reaction, guys. Rammstein is actually one of the few interesting german rock bands these days. Your pronounciation of "Ohne Dich" was pretty good btw, at 3:35 it was almost perfect! Have a great weekend and a great New Year's Eve! Greetings from Germany
"Few?" Are you serious? How much time have you actually spent checking out German bands? Germany has one of the healthiest and most diverse rock scenes on the planet.
Happy New Year. Guys please check out Galneryus - Angel of Salvation the Live in Shibuya version. They do Neo-classical and Power metal, one of the very best live band, very technical and hardest guitar shredding from Japan. Hopefully they will be a new band for both you guys and surely you guys will enjoy it.
Seems like Judson enjoys Til's vocals. I would recommend you try Morgenstern (Live from Völkerball DVD). That's one helluva vocal performance. link to video: ua-cam.com/video/k-qIFW23cq8/v-deo.html
Listen to the new Vildhjarta singles. I would love to hear you both break them down. I know you’ll both love them. Always appreciate the breaks down. Keep em comin
I would love for a reaction on "falling in between" by toto, it's just a heavy song by a "prog" rock band, the musicians are so good, they know what they were doing, the live version from their concert by the same name it's better than the studio one in my opinion but whatever
I love this channel, binging n going nutty. not to be pushy but he NEEDS to hear Obscura by Gorguts.. the '98 cosmic birth of a whole vein of dense avant-garde experimental dissonant death metal, the master of puppets for labyrinthian brainy art school metal.
After i found this great Account i can't wait to see more Reactions of you. It is a few weeks to late but maybe you listen someday to Sabaton - Chrismas Truce. Because i would like to hear hear your Opinion of the Piano play from Joakim the singer of them.

Hey. Ohne dich is a great song. Very epic. If you want another very epic, try Behemoth - Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer. It's from Poland, near to Germany. Some say, some, that if you play this song forward, you will hear a satanic message. God bless You.

Please react to "Zeit" while reading the translated lyrics please. Stay strong guys! You can now proceed :D
I'll second that. That song brings me to tears.
That one bit in the video is brutal. Not saying what it is but I know you know. 😅 Great song though.
That would be rad indeed!
Do it! To me "Zeit" feels like part 2 of "Ohne Dich"
Yes, please
Thanks for the reaction, guys! And yes, you totally got the gist of the song. Cheers from Germany! :)
